Phantasm.
'Nuff said.
I remember that movie. It's been a long time since I saw it but I remember it.
The Exoricist I never saw until decades after it came out and years of hearing all the scary parts, so it had lost it's punch by the time I got to it. The Omen I saw at the right age at the right time, so I was soooooo drawn into it, I look at it now and I have to roll my eyes. Horror movies aren't my thing but I think I've seen a third to about half of them. Friday the 13th disturbed me the most, cause he got you in your dreams and I would nuts enough to dream about it, so that didn't work. It's Alive, was another one that bugged me.
That damn silver ball. I don't know why, but Phantasm scared the crap out of me, and that silver ball, I never wanted to see a silver ball after that. |

So you consider Jason a "lesser evil"? Both Freddy and Jason will fuck us up! |

He plays more of a comedic role as the series goes on. Don't watch the 2nd one though. That one's a piece of shite |

have you read a book scarier than Goosebumps?
I've never read Goosebumps.
"Goosebumps" was a fun little kiddie horror book series from my school era [the 90's]. "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark" was the shit though just for the creep ass art ..... |

I just finished. It was a good movie! A bit long, but good. Not really scary though. I loved the exorcism scene and how she spoke in his Mom's voice. The music was a nice touch too, pretty much the only creepy thing about the movie, as well as the timing of certain sound effects and the random face popping up. But overall, I'd give it an 8/10. |

One thing I love about the film is when the girl turned into the young priest's grandmother... that was the one thing that actually creeped me out but in the terms of how things were in 1973, people would've thought that was real scary. |

It was evil but I really enjoyed that scene. But yeah, while watching it I imagined myself in a theatre in 1973. Would've been very scary considering the times. |

Pretty much and then to get a 13-year-old girl shouting out curse words in the "devil's" voice while doing all sorts of crazy shit... this year no one would bat an eye over shit like that because they've seen it so many times lol |

I still think lines like "shove your cock up her ass, you motherfucker" would still be shocking today though. [Edited 8/25/12 4:07am] |

It's scary if you're Christian I guess. I've seen the movie so many times, that when it was re-released in the theaters, I fell asleep while watching it.
I think the film really rides on Stan Winston's makeup effects as well as the actress that did the vocal effects for Reagan. They personified evil in such a way that transcended religion. |

The Shining is a must see... the story line is great and Jack Nicholson gives a timeless performance.
I might watch this one myself tonight...
