What is it in horror films that motherfuckers hesitate to kill the fuckers? They have a knife or gun in their hands and they hesitate until the LAST MINUTE?! Jesus. I used to HATE that.

I haven't even seen it. I'm assuming that it ain't scary either? (Damn, this "horror" genre is letting me down) [Edited 8/26/12 16:30pm]

Maybe we have different funny bones because man that little fucker made me laugh. Maybe that's why those Bride of Chucky films were made as comedies because no one was really scared of those films.

I don't get it either. I'm loving the movies so far, but damn, it was easy Scream. Kill the guy on the couch, come out of the house, slash the throat of the fat camera guy, then while Sidney is screaming and acting surprised, stab her too.

It's probably one of the most ungory horror films I've seen actually

Yeah... I mean. Jesus, they turn to pussies even WITH a weapon!

Exactly. Twenty more minutes left and this could have easily been a 10 minute short film.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'll have to check it out then.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Right! Maybe that's why these films last too damn long.

The genre usually seems to punsih teenagers who do promiscuous things and reward the ones that do nothing by letting them live

Exactly. When I watched the last 20 minutes of Poltergeist, I was like, "really?" I called it from the beginning, they should've left the house as soon as they could.

Damn, this Scream guy done murdered everyone but his target.

That's usually how it works

This guy who was just stabbed five times manages to rush out of the kitchen and jump on Sidney.

Scream 2 is boring. | |

I hated Scream... hated every sequel.
I love Alien, Aliens ... parts 3-4 were meh, more action filmsand NOT scary.
Alien was THE perfect suspence movie, it'll make you jump because its like that ugly bug you need to kill before it gets you type movie.
Alien runs in tradition of the "bug" movies .... my favorites are Alien after the classic horror films (Exorcist/Omen/Poltergist)
I like Hostel as a slasher, loved Silence of the Lambs for its "creep" factor... Cube was another insteresting movie that had a good amount of blood in it.
I like weird creepy movies... oh and The Ring was pretty "creepy" also.

I really want to see Alien.

Get the popcorn ready! Its a good action flick also... esp. part 2.
Part3 gets mixed reviews but I still liked part 3 because I am such a huge fan...
part 4 was overkill and reaching IMO and the story line just sucked.
You need a good monster film to see...

Got any good ones?
Aliens is first thing tomorrow...I still have to see The Thing, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and plenty of other ones mentioned here.

Loved the first 1. Every other one sucks

These originals were ALL good movies... didn't like any of the sequels. Waste of time IMO.
Most monster movies that scared viewers years ago may not scare you since special effects have come such a long way and many old monster movies just do not have the same effect now because the special effects are cheesy, (like the Howling/Fog/American Werewolf in London/etc.)
Now there was a Dracula movie from 1979 ??? I loved that version... maybe UFOClub knows the exact title of the movie since I seen it YEARS ago... it was creepy and the traditional story of Dracula.
I like Vampire films...
Salem's Lot Interview with a Vampire (sexy/romantic... Twilight wishes it could be but fails) Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (Anime) Van Helsing (action film -not scary) Underworld (series- action films also)
Now there are Mummies, Werewolves, Frankenstein and ghosts stories too, but I think Van helsing incorporates the classic all-in-one monster flick... maybe that's why I like it, it has all the classic good vs. evil, monsters story line.
Most now are not scary, but all have that classic good vs. evil feel to them, pretty predictable also.

You should watch in this order:
1. Alien 2. Aliens (makes no sense without the far superior original) 3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4. Halloween 5. The Thing (Part II if you want to) 6. Night Of The Living Dead 7. Dawn Of The Living Dead 8. Silence Of The Lambs 9. Nosferatu (A classic black and white silent vampire flick) 10. Nightmare On Elm St. 11. Freeks (Another old film. This one isn't silent though) 12. Friday The 13th Parts 1-3 (All of them) 13. Zombi 2 (There's no Zombi 1) 14. Audition (Simply creepy, and disturbing like no other movie. You might not want to watch this one)
