So is just about every movie I've watched in the past two days.
I'm starting Poltergeist now.
As a kid I saw "Poltergiest" 5 times in the theater. Love that movie. It's a fun horror movie.
Cool. I'm excited now. I got my chips and tea, I'm ready for this. |

Alien is another movie you really need to see. That one is like slasher film meets sci-fi. Aliens is really good too. |

I actually know about that one, I've wanted to watch it for a while but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I should. |

I agree. I thought the sequels were terrible though. |

Then the original Halloween and Halloween II, the other Halloweens 3, 4, 6, 10/whatever, are monumentally shit. |

I'm going to watch the classic movie Psycho, then I'll see some of the other ones mentioned here.
How could you have not seen Psycho?!? I'd suggest Texas Chainsaw Massacre afterward. They both were based on the same murderer.

It's amazing how well Halloween II segues from Halloween I. You really feel like they were shot on the same night |

How could you hate Scream?!?!?!?!?!?! I love it, expecially the twist ending. It revolutionized the slasher genre (which was dead by then) and how could you hate the 90's nostalgia? |

Don't get me wrong, I do like it, but it's kind of...dumb. |

All I took from the Scream thing was the mask and Drew Barrymore's scream at the beginning. I think Drew was the best thing about the "trilogy" (or how many movies they did, four probably) but that's just me. [Edited 8/26/12 16:20pm] |

That opening scene was the best thing. BTW it's not a trilogy. |

"Oh my God, Billy watch out!" some guy in a Halloween costume comes out of nowhere and stabs him three times, while his girlfriend cries and screams rather than...running away.
How many times is it gonna take this guy to just kill her? |

I like more psychological type movies. I like Scream a bit but I'm not here for slasher films. I like seeing him fail in his attempts to murder her though. |

Well that's the way the slasher genre usually works. It is my favorite subgenre of horror though |

As for Poltergeist, that shit was mind-blowing to see when I was seven. Seeing something trying to grab you from the TV...
And the girl going "they're heeeerrrrreee..." lol |

Honestly. All this time spent on phone calls and building suspense. He could've just killed her while she was sleeping on the couch waiting for her friend. |

ahh I gotcha. You HAVE to see Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre though, if you don't see any other slasher films. Those 2 are the best. |

It was so...meh. I love the concept but it felt like a family horror film...almost like what Disney would do if they did horror. |

Yeah that's pretty much what I was saying. After a while I just thought it was funny. I think the Child's Play ones are humorous. When I watched the first one, me being four, I thought they were killing my doll who looked just like Chucky (yeah that was sus of me ). |

It was. But when I saw him getting blown away the second time, I laughed my head off. Hell the second Child's Play I couldn't even contain my laughter. It was THAT funny. Especially when that remaining blob of Chucky tried to kill the girl (again). |
