He didn't face one in the Finals, but the Bulls did in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. He had to go up against Ewing and the Knicks and a Young Shaq in Orlando.
That's the other thing - MJ never faced a team with 2 HOF in the East playoffs. MJ had the most complete SF ever in HOFer Pippen. Ewing had who? Shaq had who? Now, it's not anyone's fault, I'm just pointing out the facts. It is what it is. You can call me "ROC" for short |

What does you being a Knick fan have to do with claiming Kobe ain't even on MJ's level? You can hate the dude but still be caught up in the "MJ era".
And Barry is the GOAT. Had Barry played in Jim's era - 2,700 YDS EVERY DAMN SEASON .
Now i agree with you on Kobe being on MJ's level but Barry Sanders being the GOAT.
Hell to the naw. Now he was a great back but i would have even taken Emmitt over him
and i'm not a Cowboys fan in no way shape or form. And he wasn't the greatest either.
Barry was good at hitting the home run play but he often would get hit in the backfield
for a loss. Barry wasn't a chain mover the way Emmitt was but he would always make
that spectacular play. Emmitt could do both and was a much better blocker than Sanders.
Emmitt was just a better all around runner than Barry. For the record as far as running backs
i've seen play in my lifetime, Walter Payton was the best. My favorite to watch was Eric Dickerson. If he wouldn't have played prima donna with the Rams he would've have broken all of Payton's records first. Eric Dickerson was so smooth he looked like he was jogging while defenders chased him.
On the real, I feel you completely. What I did was look at what Barry did WITHOUT A FB, A GREAT O LINE AND IN THE FREAKIN' RUN & SHOOT! . That's what makes Barry's career amazing. Emmit had the greatest O line in NFL history most of his career, so that has to be noted. Emmitt was great, but Barry was greater. Imagine Barry playing behind Dallas' ridiculously bomb O line? 3,000 yeard season. I truly believe that.
Payton was a beast. It's always hard to pick between him and Barry for me. ED was tight, thing is, whenever he would run and the pursuit had the angle on him, he never met a sideline he didn't like . You can call me "ROC" for short |

Not sure what your point is? No one's asking that question. No one's disputing that at all. All I'm saying is that it's fact that MJ never faced a great center in the NBA Finals. Fact.
Fact.............so what.

Michael Jordan would have had a better performamce than Kobe did in that Game 7. Not hatin', just sayin'....
Jordan is one of the top two greatest NBA players of all time. I can't put Kobe there - above Oscar, Kareem, Magic, Bird, West? Hell no!!!
Kobe stans are just as nutty as Jordan stans. I see this nonsense at other sites, and it's mostly younger cats.
[Edited 8/21/10 22:19pm]
What Game 7? Also, you're going off one game? Come on. Also, I don't lump players that play different positions in the GOAT convo. I pick position by position. But I do laugh at you putting Jerry West ahead of Kobe. Miss me with that "hateratory" nonsense. You can call me "ROC" for short |

My point was made. MJ never faced a dominant center in the NBA finals. Fact. That can never be argued. Ever. It is what it is. It will never be anything else but fact. Forever. For always. For love . And if you don't think a dominant center like the most skilled center of all time - Hakeem Olajuwon - "wouldn't have mattered" then your love for MJ goes beyond all logic. Michael Jordan had a losing record against the Houston Rockets over the course of his career. I don't think the Bulls ever did better in any year than break even against the Rockets.
We'll never know who would have won in '94 or '95 but I sure would have loved to have seen them play. |

I'll catch heat for saying this, but the best basketball I ever saw any human play was played by Hakeem Olajuwon during 1992 - 1995. And mainly in '93-'94. |

True. And that's a fact. See how facts work? They're true. Just like this fact: MJ never faced a dominant center in the NBA finals. Or this fact: MJ never faced an Eastern playoff team that had 2 HOFers. See, facts are fun. You can call me "ROC" for short |

Just because their TEAM didn't make it doesn't mean the center himself wasn't dominant. Shaq beat MJ one year, and he didn't even have another HOF next to him. Now I have to tell you, I just set you up because I already see your response coming. You can call me "ROC" for short |
