before you say yes, think of the media scrutiny that you'll come under. someone always taking pictures of you without your consent, reporting on what you're wearing, what you ate and with whom. digging into your background for juicy tidbits of information. all past relationships are fair game. could you part with the anonymous lifestyle you have right now to be in the limelight?

Marriages with everyday plain people break up everyday. The divorce rate is through the roof. Rather go through a divorce with Superstar babe than a Plain Jane. At least it would be an exciting ride however long it lasted.

I have had a few situations where this question was relevant (off the top of my head, I am thinking of a musician who was a member of a highly-touted English rock group and an actress whose career is now taking-off).

In both situations, it did run through my mind. I won't bother boring you with my thought process at the time and just cut to the chase with the answer I would give today:

I would hate to have deal with all that bullshit, but I would do it if this was the person I was certain I wanted to make a commitment to.

Yes. The media world doesn't really care THAT much about the s.o. if they are not famous themself. Sure, a few photos and mentions would be scattered here and there, but that's about it. If I really liked the person and wanted to make that commitment, then I don't see why not.
