i have a question about the album pre-order if anybody can answer for me. so when you pre-order from amazon or itunes you are not paying until the album comes out, but in this case fans are actually buying the album, so will these sales count towards her first week sales or will billboard have some rule disqualifying it?

The CDs or LPs are pre-ordered from her website janetjackson.com, and I don't think the time your card is charged changes the definition of a pre-order sale. They should be counted towards first week sales.

Looks like she getting back down to her "fighting weight" again. She must know exactly how many weeks or months she needs to slim down in time for promoting a project. I swear not long ago, her face looked more full. Her notorious abs would make headlines if put on display.

Are you afraid that the single wouldn't be a hit? Speaking of singles: What type of single would you want to release? In spite of Rhythm Nation being received as a social conscious record, it's first single was "Miss You Much". It wasn't until "Rhythm Nation" was released that the album theme was reflected in a single.

nope its actually the opposite. im kinda past the 'hit single' thing, i mean i wouldnt be mad if janet got a hit single but i want a great album. what i dont want is her dropping a bunch of singles hoping one will become a hit. if there is a single i want something smooth mid-tempo and mature. according to entertainment tonight the album theme is 'the human spirit,her marriage, her family, her fans, her mistakes and the unbreakable bond that connects these things for her'. im here for this,im getting more of a velvet rope vibe than rhythm nation.

I guess I'm greedy. I'd like to see both a hit single that resonates with the masses and a successful album following that single.

I too hope there isn't the see what sticks approach to this. Janet haven't really done much of that as I recall though. But that was also a different era too. Nowadays, artists pull songs all the time in the name of "testing their market" or "it was just a buzz single."

That is what I am hoping too.

I hope she snubs BET, MTV, and the Grammys as well. Just promote her album herself and maybe go on X Factor ( or a similiar type of show). After the way the radio and the industry has treated her over the years, I think she should pay all of them dust and just promote herself. It will obviously be a lot of work but intergrity and dignity is worth more than anything.

i agree, i wouldnt even try to cater to them. she wont have pressure from a record label so she can do what she want. its interesting that somebody on another forum said they played that little snippit she did for the fans on the radio, i bet if she snubbed them they would play her music.

I am not even thinking about that. I am more so interested in the quality she has to offer this go round with her album as a whole and the creativity of her tour lay out. I REALLY wish she would fire Gil. I think he is awful. Her choregraphy has been mediocre since he has been her main choregrapher. Hopefully, she at least incorporates some other choregraphers.
