I thought it would do well with Urban AC market and medicore on the other charts. However, it is still very early. So we'll see. It's only been two weeks, plus there's no promotional video yet. We just got the lyric video a couple of days ago. Seems to me that she's in for the long haul with this one.

-

Your last statement is where I'm at, and have been at for two weeks. I would love to see some sort of redemption for her consider how bad she was treated. But even she doesn't return to a glimpse of her former glory, I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever she, Jam & Lewis have put together. That's what counts. Enjoy NE

EXCLUSIVE: Janet Jackson Announces a Surprising New Venture

Getty Images

We'll take more Janet Jackson wherever we can get it!

On the heels of her stunning appearance Sunday at the 2015 BET Awards, the 49-year-old legend announced on Tuesday that she's also coming out with her own diamond jewelry line called the Janet Jackson Unbreakable Diamonds collection. Janet actually debuted the collection at the BET Awards, where she wore a heart-shaped necklace made with twenty-five carats of Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds (retailing at $2 million) as well as a thirteen carat Fancy Intense Yellow diamond ring (retailing at $500K).

... But seriously, can we talk about how she looks like she hasn't aged in the last decade?!

Janet will be wearing her new gems all throughout her upcoming Unbreakable World Tour, which is scheduled to kick off in Vancouver, B.C. on Aug. 31.

And the good news just keeps on coming for the "Rhythm Nation" singer. Her new single "No Sleeep" debuted Monday on the Billboard Adult R&B chart at #15, making it Janet's highest entrance ever on the chart.

That jewelry is MEGA expensive! But a very classy endorsement for Janet..

If she doesn't deliver them herself i'll be expecting a refund.

I like her new single BTW. biggrin

LOS ANGELES, July 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — “No Sleeep,” the debut single from Janet Jackson’s first studio album in seven years, has entered the Top Ten on Urban AC chart at # 9 only two weeks after its release, it was announced by the singer’s Rhythm Nation label and its distributor, BMG.

The single also claims the #9 spot on Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart and the #6 spot on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Digital Songs chart.

Not to most on this site. Since it's considered the B---K charts..rolleyes

It's a shame, that they feel Janet's new hot single is flopping. Because it's not number#1 on the POP charts...

It's very important for an artist to be accepted by their own first. They're the ones that supported her when the superbowl incident happened. Btw, the media is the ones that glorified that incident. When most didn't even notice it! Until they pointed it out.

unbelievable. how can the r&b charts not matter to a black artist? this is where she started and this is who never abandoned her, 'no sleeep' is taylor made for r&b formats im glad she didnt try to make a pop song, its not like they were gonna support her anyway.the song been out 2 weeks and is top 10 on several r&b billboard charts.

I am pretty disappointed that the pop radio locally has not picked up "No Sleeep". What a tired playlist they run, too.

We have a diverse population but no R&B station. sad

I hate to admit it but timing might just be everything when it comes to the music. We'd like to think that the music would speak for itself but it looks like people's reception of it is key. If they ain't ready it won't move. Maybe that's Prince's problem (well one of them at least).

Your right. But I'm so glad Janet is doing music that is her instead of following what's hot right now. I don't care how commercially successful it is just as long as its her. One of the reasons I did not like discipline or 20Y.O. was because to me it wasn't Janet. "No Sleeep" is Janet.

True, but why did radio ignore songs like, "Enjoy," from 20YO?

I looked at Billboard and it says "No Sleeep" made it to No. 18 on the Hot R&B chart. And it debuted at No. 67 on the overall Hot 100 but dropped off the following week.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Madonna made it no further than No. 84 with her singles this year, Michael Jackson's LNFSG follow-up "A Place With No Name" missed the chart, etc. I didn't expect a big hit, not in this sort of market which is all about new/young artists. But honestly, who cares? She had a high debut, because she has a big fanbase. And if she never makes the Hot 100 again in her life, it won't matter because she's still a legend and more successful than 95% of the artists on it currently lol

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

Well No Sleep is not really a crossover type of record. If she got with maybe Pharelle for example, she might have had more commercial success. But like you said, who cares?
