Let's put it into perspective. She has not released anything of substance since, "Ray of Light". "Hard Candy", was a joke and this new one is nothing to write home about either. So, he does have a point...

Disagree, but what do you actually mean, of substance?

Confessions was a VERY good album and period, a path she should have stayed on instead of HardCandy

......except that Madonna can only sample ABBA & The Jacksons once! lol wink But a potential Confessions Pt. 2 could've have Madonna sampling The Bee Gees & The Sylvers to make up to difference. nod

The biggest flaw with Hard Candy is that 4 Minutes has NOT ages well at all.

Cher only does an album once every ten years (lol),but I get your point lol

I really don't see 'MDNA' being such a huge departure from Madonna's dance/pop sound.People always say she's trying to "re-invent" herself, but these days, she seems to have found a comfortable sound that she likes.

yeah, I don't think the comparison works with Cher & Madonna

hell Prince should be the king of reinvention then lol

If I'm not mistaken madonna said pre-Confessions she just wanted to get back to dancing dance music and having that kind of fun at the shows -I guess the song Music is the backdrop to that

No. THIS is the king of reinvention:

Apparently she didn't attend some event he was holding (someone mentioned that) and since, Elton's pitched a bitch. Guess it's deeper than Gaga and shit.

c) hasn't released a decent album since 2001, and his last hit was a sappy Disney ballad in 1994

worse! Princess Di had to die in order to make him "relevant" again

d) nobody gives a damn about his "world" (really?') tours

e) ex-drug addict, alcoholic, ugly fat brit, arrogant prick who usually treats people like crap

Madonna

a) old happy bitch

b) still the Queen

c) released two great albums in the 00's

d) best world tours of all time (along with U2 and the Stones)

e) drug-free, mother of many children, sometimes treats people like crap, but normally parasites of the show business or irritating "journalists"

this seems fun..I'll play...

Elton John

a) old bitter bitch (Keith was right) yes..seems to be getting grumpy in his old age...

b) jealous of Madonna cuz she's the true gay/lesbian icon - I don't think Elton plays up to the gays as Madonna does...she needs that type of audience...

Princess Di had to die in order to make him "relevant" againI am sure there are some good ones that were over looked..Elton does play to MTV audience...I am sure the sappy Disney ballad took him by suprise..but hey...It landed him an Oscar...btw where's Madonna's?? No nomination for Swept Away?? sorry couldn't resist! The Lady Di comment is uncalled for...I am sure he would rather have his friend back and dont forget...it was the public that bought the song...and all proceeds going to her charity..55 million dollars worth.

d) nobody gives a damn about his "world" (really?') tours not sure if he does world tours anymore...but he always sells out when he's in my area...

e) ex-drug addict, alcoholic, ugly fat brit, arrogant prick who usually treats people like crap as I said grumpy old man...fat?? yup...arrogant prick?? yup..but he can back it up?? yup. druggie, alcholic?? yup but recovered....

Madonna

b) still the Queen queen of what?? Pop?? eehh my 12 yr old saw her on TV and asked if she was dead???

c) released two great albums in the 00's 2 great albums?? not sure what they were...truth be told...artists today would want her longevity in the music business...but musically they would take the pass

d) best world tours of all time (along with U2 and the Stones) yup..high ticket prices will do that...but could she carry a show on HER OWN?? no silly back up dancers or lip syncing?? I would say no...

e) drug-free, mother of many children, sometimes treats people like crap, but normally parasites of the show business or irritating "journalists"yes...she is a health freak! I think that is great..mother of many..sometimes I feel she does it for publicity though

As much as many people consider Madonna a joke for some of the antics. I think Madonna made one of her best albums with MDNA. I think people need to listen.

I enjoy Elton but all the parties involved here need to get over it. This is worse than Axl Rose fueding with Vince Neil. Or Nirvana fueding with GnR. This is pathetic.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Madonna 'Doesn't Care' What Elton John Says About Her, Says Source

As Elton John continues to draw headlinesfor attacking Madonna -- he reportedly called her the C-word and said her career is over -- her friends are fighting back.

"I honestly do not understand his need to trash the crap out of her over and over again. He says she has no authority, but apparently he has authority? He needs to hate on her," a friend of the Material Girl tells me. "To say her tour is a disaster is just silly. She is selling out arenas, singing new material and a few classic hits. He will be singing the same old songs until he dies."

Madonna is estimated to have sold more than 300 million records versus Elton’s 250 million, plus his career has an extra 10 years on hers. According to recent data onCelebritynetworth.com, Elton's is worth $355 million while Madonna is worth more than $650 million as of last year, with an estimated additional $250 million paycheck from the "disastrous" MDNA tour.

"Ultimately, she doesn’t care what he has to say about her in public or private," one insider tells me. "She has nothing to prove to anyone, especially Elton John."

The biggest flaw with Hard Candy is that 4 Minutes has NOT ages well at all.

the Confessions music had samples of Disco & 1990's classic House music, there are a few outtakes like Super Pop & History that show that

plus the 1970's has so much 'unknown' disco she could sample for days.

She also said at that time she was going to sample her own past music

Yes, Hard Candy has not 'stood the test of time' that well

WTF.

He really hates her doesn't he? lol

As long as Cher still has a career, Madonna still has a career.

I'll meet Elton half-way.... What she has to offer is over. Really, nothing left. Just runing on fumes, as was evident with the pointless MDNA album. Her career should be over.

However, she's Madonna, and she will pretty chose when it ends.

"As long as Cher still has a career, Madonna still has a career."

Here's the difference between the two. While Madonna feels that she has to keep reinventing herself, and keep up with the latest grooves, Cher has made her money by doing what she does best, singing her old hits. Now, I am not suggesting that Madonna just sing her old hits, what I am saying is that if it ain't broke, then why fuck it up? If she continues to put out music like the what is contained on MDNA, her career WILL be over...more sooner than later; at least to die-hard Madonna fans. Her "tone-deaf stans, cannot tell the difference anyway between what sounds good and bad.

Cher has morphed just as much as Madonna, and often with more entertaining results in my opinion.

There's a huge difference between her Bon Jovi-esque 80's material and "Power of Love", etc. so Cher hs been known to reinvent with the times too.

I don't think Cher would slag Lady Gaga if Gaga did a Cher-style song though. Madonna seems to have reached a point where she thinks she's a pioneer....Debra Harry should really kick her ass sometimes.

I'd have to say I doubt that there are that many gay fans out there that can sellout her shows world wide lol

Dude she is the Queen

Why should she have to carry a show on her own, people want entertainment, Michael Jackson would not do a show on his own (and who doesn't have high ticket prices)

Sorry Tony, that's you being an ageist prejudice.

Besides act your age, really? She has always flashed boob-her best asset I may add. And hey they still look great. If it's not a desperate attempt when your young, why is it when your old? It seems a lot of people think that way (not necessarily you tony-in general.) (Ageist perhaps.)

And since gays are rallying against bullying and name calling Elton should take a long look in the mirror and see that he's what most teenage gays are most scared of growing up and dealing with life. A bully. He thinks because they're both entertainers and have a media platform that it's cool but it's unconscionable behavior coming from someone who should know far better and conduct himself as such. We get that he doesn't like her but he takes every opportunity to rag on her when it's unwarranted and it's really just ugly and classless at this point. If you think Madonna his so "over" then she shouldn't even register on your radar anymore but he follows what she does then feels a need to comment upon it anyitme a microphone is around.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Elton John Reportedly Thought the Ugly Remarks He Made About Madonna Were 'Off the Record'

Elton John thought that remarks he made about Madonna in an Australian TV interview — he called her a "c*nt" and a "f**king fairground stripper", were off the record, according to an entertainment reporter on Radio 3AW’s Breakfast Show:

Elton_john3AW's entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Ross and John he had been contacted by Elton John's publicity team, first saying the claims made by Molly Meldrum were rubbish. Pete Ford said after telling Elton John's representative that the claims had aired on television, he was told that the conversation was allegedly 'off-the-record'.

"Elton's been around long enough to know that if there's a camera there and someone's standing behind it with a red light on... It's still being recorded," Peter Ford told 3AW Breakfast.

Speaking with 3AW Breakfast, Molly Meldrum said he was taken aback by Elton John's comments attacking Madonna.

"I love Elton, but when he launched into Madonna I slightly went into shock because Madonna also is a friend of mine," Molly Meldrum told Ross and John. "But I have to say that she has been very naughty of late."

Peter Ford said Molly Meldrum had a good enough relationship with Elton John to not do the wrong thing by him.
