From what I've read or seen almost everyone who has talked about Whitney after her death has said something to the effect that "Whitney did what Whitney wanted." She chose to go down this path and this is where she ended up.

No one could have stopped her cause she didnt want to stop.

Some ya'll just getting crazy. eek

Posted at 09:03 AM ET, 02/15/2012 Bobby Brown invited to Whitney Houston’s funeral;

By Sarah Anne Hughes

Bobby Brown has been contacted about attending Whitney Houston’s funeral Saturday, sources tell ABC News. TMZ reported that members of Houston’s family had objected to Brown attending the service, which will be by invitation only, but ABC’s source called this “inaccurate.” Brown is in California with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who has been hospitalized twice since her mother’s death. In a statement Brown said his daughter “is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected.” (ABC News; TMZ)

Nah, I ain't getting crazy. Like I said, I'm not even a "fan," per se. It's just by all accounts, I dunno. I just feel like her death could have been prevented at this time--or maybe not? I just haven't heard any stories about people trying to intervene. And I guess, given my personality, that mystifies me. It's just sad..

With all due respect, Whitney was a grown ass woman who was very well aware of her demons and who was good for her and who wasn't. She knew who would stop her from doing drugs and who wouldn't. As much as we would like to cast doubt on someone else, an addict cannot be stopped until the addict wants to stop. That is if indeed her death is illegal drug related. She very well may have been prescribed those drugs legally and without malice and chose upon her self to take them in a way not prescribed. EVERYONE knows you should not take sedatives with alcohol. This is nothing new. Again, if it is drug related. It could be a case that all the damage she previously did to her body came back on her.

We the public do not know her private life or her private demons. We want to believe the "America's Sweetheart" persona created, but that may or not be the truth of who she was. We just don't know. We want to believe that all of this is someone's fault other than Whitney's, but in the end, it may be no one's fault but Whitney's.

Well, I just don't know why she would need xanax and valium, and according to reports, those were in her possession. I don't they found any illegal drugs?

I just feel like... she spent multiple times in rehab. It's not like she NEVER went to rehab. There had to be a doctor, a counselor.. a professional to call when she started drinking again at least, much less anything else.

From what I read, she was in an out-patient program? Doesn't that mean she and her family had access to a counselor at least?

And apparently, as some of the conversation has indicated, a lot of people don't know what some of the drugs mixed with alcohol can do to your system. The don't really understand the danger even though there might be label warnings or even verbal warnings from a doctor.

Honestly, I just think people basically says.. "She's a grown ass woman..." and don't even try to intervene--not that intervening will necessarily save anyone. But at least a person has to dry.

But this comes from an intervener in a variety of situations. It's just the way I am.

As I said, if I had a friend in a similar situation as Whitney's you had better believe, I try even if I couldn't talk to her directly because she'd probably be...beligerant. I'd figure out a way to try to do something.

[Edited 2/15/12 8:39am]

The problem is we are all speculating and we do not know what actually happened. While she may have had valium and xanax, who said one doctor provided both or that both were current. I have a prescription of ambien that is about 1 and a half years old. I take as need, not regularly. I could very well go to my same doctor, get a prescription for something else, and she not know that I still have the ambien in my possession. We just don't know.

We also don't know that people didn't intervene. We don't know that she took any drugs at all that day or the night before. We know she was drinking on Friday, but she could have been chilling on Saturday. Maybe it was just HER TIME. There very well may have not been a damn thing to intervene in, kinda like Amy. She just died. Her body just quit on her.

Again, everyone seems to want to put the blame of her death on someone else not doing something. Whitney died because of things Whitney did or didn't do, unless she was murdered.

They at least could have waited a few weeks!!!

CNN) -

Given the level of interest in even the grittiest of details about Whitney Houston's death, it does make sense that some might view the locale where the star passed on as something they'd pay money to learn more about.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Dearly Departed tour company has added the site of Houston's death at the Beverly Hilton to their Dearly Departed's Hollywood Tragical History tour.

"It is what we do," said owner Scott Michaels, who founded the tour company seven years ago. "And it's not far off our current route."

The two-and-a-half-hour narrated tour costs about $40 for adult admission, and covers the death sites of Michael Jackson, River Phoenix and Bela Lugosi. A tour guide breaks down the facts surrounding a star's death, and in the case of Houston, for example, the narration would include a note that toxicology results are still pending.

"To some people, there's just no defending" what his company does, Michaels told the Times. "But we're not jumping on any bandwagon. This is what we do."

It was on Thursday night that media statements confirmed she was drinking and having that good time. Her whereabouts on Friday remains a mystery.

I'm growing tired of Dr. Drew's preaching about drug addicts and how Whitney shouldn't have been partying with friends and how detrimental it was to her health to be out with Kelly Price two nights earlier and having champagne. He flat out called Kelly Price "ignorant" when he appeared on Piers Morgan's show yet again.

Unless he actually diagnosed and treated her then he can't speak about her health and her degree of addiction. We still don't know the actual cause of death and for him to speak as if he knows factually what drugs she may have taken and in what amounts and whether they were mixed with alchohol then he needs to shut his ass up and wait for the toxicoloy report like everyone else.

Also sick of these so called friends saying "she did what she wanted to do". Well duh! Most human beings function in that way but still, if you see someone in peril you should not be afraid nor discouraged to reach out and help. There is such a thing as tough love.

What I hate about the dang interview was that Chaka was getting comfortable in the interview and was really candid.

I learned so much more about Whitney's personality ... who she was by that interview with Chaka and

it appeared that Chaka was going to stay for a much longer interview but then that darn Piers hustled her off so that he could get Wyclef Jean to talk abgout what??? one interaction with Whitney because he produced one song???

BORING!!! I preferred the interviews that Chaka, Kelly Price, Jennifer Hudson and her lchildhood friend.

Why interview people who "met" Whitney for a record deal instead of someone who KNEW the woman???

From a business perspective, she's worth more to the corporate machine dead than alive. They undoubtedly are holding meetings right now on which methods to focus on to maximize music sales.

For the record, I don't watch Dr. Drew. I'm not interested in what he has to say.

My opinions are my own. My experience and information are my own, too.

Maybe you all know more about her, but the circumstances just seem strange to me.

I was reading her family had gotten in touch with the same rehab person Roger Downey, Jr., used? He worked with her for a while? I don't know if that's true or not.

I just think there were options to where it's possible she didn't have to die on that night. Or atleast if she were going to die anyway, she didn't have to be photographed partying... because she wouldn't have been partying.

There wouldn't have been alcohol in her room.

I'm just sayin...

But you all know more than I do about it.. so

Yea... He's an actual M.D. Pinsky was born in Pasadena, California and attended Polytechnic School. His father, Morton Pinsky (1925–2009), was a physician whose parents were Russian Jewish immigrants. His mother, Helene Stanton (née Eleanor Mae Stansbury; 1925–), is a retired singer and actress who came from a "highly Victorian upper-middle-class family in Philadelphia".[5][6] Pinsky majored in biology at Amherst College, graduating in 1980,[7] and earned his M.D. at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1984.[8] He served his residency in internal medicine at USC County Hospital and became chief resident at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, and eventually moved into private practice.[9]

I agree. People are still trying to grasp how come someone who appeared to be "on the brink" of a comeback could've died the way she did. Believe me I was excited for her but her death just sparked something that she never overcame the demons she tried to break away from. I still think it was an accident but still Whitney "did what Whitney wanted to do".

See Im confused even more now. I'm looking him up and it seems he is a board certified internest but not practicing. Somehow he made the leap from internist to psychiatry and where chemical dependency falls in there I'm not sure. Something is off here. Maybe he is a doctor like Conrad Murray was a doctor.

Criticism and praise

In 2009, Pinsky drew criticism from experts for publicly offering professional opinions of celebrities he has never met or personally examined, based on media accounts, and has also drawn the ire of some of those celebrities. Following comments Pinsky made about actor Tom Cruise's belief in Scientology and Lindsay Lohan's drug abuse, Cruise's lawyer compared Pinsky to Joseph Goebbels, and Lohan posted on Twitter, "I thought REAL doctors talked to patients in offices behind closed doors."[34] Pinsky also received criticism in April 2010 for stating that he would frame Lohan for illegal drug use in order to force her into a sobriety program if he were her father.[35] Pinsky responded in the same publication that his remark was intended as hyperbole and a "flight of journalistic excess," not a suggestion as a treatment modality in any way. He stated his intent was to drive home the point about bringing negative consequences to bear for a person dying of addiction when all other options have been exhausted.[36]

Right. I knew something was funny about it when I read it. No way in hell would Cissy Houston not allow Bobby in to see his daughter and attend his ex's funeral. They had a history. Why wouldn't he be there to pay his final respects?
