2 more great songs from the new VH. smile

I've heard clips from some other songs as well. They sound very inspired and focused. Heavy and quite energetic as well. I'm very, very impressed from what I've heard. And of course very happy. cool

I love the new VH! Nice! IMO would still be way better with MA backing vox but it's still pretty good and on the positive side I can see that EVH has fattened up Wolfie on beer and chicken wings so the visuals work live.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

i like the fact it sounds like a Dave VH album and not a Sammy VH album with Dave singing on it. very little keyboards on it, i'm not dissing the Van Hagar period but i like Dave more.

I'm not saying anything negative here in regards to the Hagar period. First off, I was around then and I supported it and I still have the CDs. That said, there is no comparison in mind between the two. And I always very strongly waved a flag for CVH. Often resulting in arguments with friends and colleagues. Lol.

But this new album just shows I was right. wink

Then again this is a whole new thing with Wolfie in the mix. Who btw, has great vocals, great big phat tone, and chops to boot. So I dunno, CVH, not exactly. How about CVH 2.0. That's what's good.

cool

What's that have to do wit anything? So was I. Do we all have to state we liked all eras when we didn't?

Hell, I even went to a concert during that era (but for certain reasons)

Just trying to be cival and nice. That's all. I understand some people still dig Hagar. Not trying to disrespect anyone. Simple as that. Like I said, there's no comparison in my mind. "Nuff said.

i was very fortunate to attend their performance at Henson studios on Wed night. They sounded great, especially DLR whose voice still has alot of spark. EVH was spectacular as ever, even pulled out the ole FrankenStrat for the new song "Tattoo". Wolfgang was surprisingly very good on bass and harmonizing vocals.
They played nothing but classics and three new songs for just over an hour.
A night to remember for sure.

- also saw Nikka Costa there and got to meet Valerie Bertinelli! very nice as was her husband.

Yeah i cant stand when people COMPARE, two different vocalists, two different eras. BUT it always go like that with any group or singer that has a career and at some point there is a change in their career, new band member, etc....

This CD also i hope PUTS TO REST that nonsense that artists have their best work when they are young? TOTAL fucking bullshit, i can list about 1,000 albums that proves this all wrong, and add this as album number 1001 that comes from guys in their late 50's. People will commonly say, "you like it for nostalgic reasons" and i say "no, i like it because its a good record" ironically the "nostlagic excuse people" often site past work as an aritsts best....hmmmm whos nostalgic now!

Great freaking record congrats VH

VAN HALEN VS. ADELE: DUEL FOR #1
Reformed Rockers Eye 200k for New Studio Album, with Adele in Hot Pursuit

February 8, 2012

It’s the Truth.

Van Halen’s new Interscope album, A Different Kind of Truth, their first with lead singer David Lee Roth since 1984 that same year, will debut with between 180-200k on next week’s chart, based on one-day sales from those music retailers who haven’t closed down to run a Chick-a- Fil franchise.

The band’s last album, 1998’s Van Halen III, with lead vocalist Gary Cherone, sold 191k on its way to a total of 516k

The album is so far the front-runner for #1, but don’t count out XL/Columbia’s Adele, whose 6.4-million-selling 21 should make a late surge based on Sunday night’s Grammy telecast and Tuesday’s Valentine’s Day to put her within striking distance of the #1 spot for the 20th time in a remarkable 51-week run.

Capitol/EMI’s long-running Now series now with its 41st edition, will be the next highest debut, with a total between 130-140k.

Epic pop-rockers The Fray’s third album, Scars and Stories, is on target for between 90-100k. Their last album, Feb. 2009’s self-titled effort, sold almost twice that in its opening week,180k, eventually moving some 897k in all.

Hear Music/Concord legend Paul McCartney’s Kisses on the Bottom, his tribute to the Great American Songbook, is on tap for between 65-70k.

Capitol Nashville/EMI country star Dierks Bentley’s Home, his first since 2010’s Up on the Ridge, is on target for 55-60k after the latter debuted with 39k.

Album sales were up 8% vs. last week, up 6% vs. same week last year and up 3% year to date.

Track sales were up 2% vs. last week, up 7% vs. same week last year and up 6.5% year to date.

TEA sales were up 6% vs. last week, up 6% vs. same week last year and up 4.25% year to date.

What does everyone think of the album so far?

And everyone especially mr. rdhull razz quit arguing over eras, who cares who like's Sammy, or Gary or whatever. Let's talk about the new album and not start a cliche, dated Hagar VS Dave fight wink
