If this new disc is made up of the old WB demos (from 76 to 77) then I will be extremely pleased. Lately that's all I've been listening to.

I like the new guitar part Eddie put in for "She's The Woman". He's still a badass. EVH's brown sound and P's funk single coil tone (to me) is my ultimate guitar tone.

Gonna try and score tickets when they hit Atlantic City in March.

..just read on Melodic Rock's site that KOOL & THE GANG will be opening select VH shows..(!!!???).

Probably's Dave's choice. Cool nonetheless.

NBC's Al Roker uncooperat...o New York

NBC weatherman Al Roker wouldn’t budge for Van Halen on a flight to New York this week.

The New York Post reports Roker nearly “pulled an Alec Baldwin” on an American Airlines flight when he refused to give up his aisle seat for Alex Van Halen and his wife, Stine Schyberg, and remained glued to his phone after the gate closed to tune out the couple’s protests.

On AA flight No. 4 to New York, the Van Halen co-founder and his wife complained to the gate agent that Roker was sitting between them as the plane sat on the ground.

Witnesses said Alex was seated by the right-side window, his wife in the center of the cabin, with Roker in the aisle seat between them. Alex’s brother and Van Halen co-founder Eddie and his wife, Janie Liszewski, were seated in the row behind them.

“Alex complained, ‘We’re not together, Mr. Roker’s seat is between ours,” a source tells The Post. “Al was looking at his phone, desperately trying to ignore the whole situation.”

When the agent asked Roker to move to the aisle seat in the first-row center, he stated that he’s “allergic to dogs.” A passenger with a little dog in a crate was in the row behind Roker, and moving to the aisle would have put him three seats away, rather than four.

To sit together, Alex and Stine then swapped with passengers in business class, according to the source, adding that a relieved Roker “said ‘Hello’ to the new people when they sat down, after hiding from the Van Halens by texting.”

While the situation was uncomfortable, “There was literally not an ounce of rock star bullbleep,” a witness said of Alex, “But his wife was making a big deal complaining about it.”

Van Halen were headed to New York for a private club show this Thursday for the media at the Café Wha? The band are gearing up for the release of their new album – the first with David Lee Roth in 28 years – which is due February 7; the project’s first single and video, “Tattoo,” is set for release next Tuesday.

Looking forward to the new music. No one can say they were piping in Mike Anthony's vocals this time. There's some more video footage up on You Tube, and VH Facebook is supposed to be posting a few of their own.

This isn't all that different from Prince going in the vault for Extra Loveable... some people are still going to complain, but most people love it when they go to back in time for some of the old sound and bring it into the 21st.

I wonder if JT Taylor is involved with Kool & The Gang.

Dunno...but the idea of K&TG opening for them is getting a fairly "warm" reception from the CVH faithful over at RothArmy. Several regs there even posted dream setlists for them to open with cool

Well as far as 30 sec samples go I do enjoy it. Lol. I can't believe this track hasn't leaked yet. But hey what's 2 days compared to 26 years.Lol. Plus the new song is almost 5 minutes long. I would bet there's either an interesting intro to song and/or some cool breakdown section and/or ending. According to tracklist posted, Tattoo is the opening track. Regardless, I'm really looking forward to the new VH album. smile

Not bad, not amazing but not bad...

I feel the energy is a bit eh, and the lyrics are eh to. DLR used to be clever, these lyrics sound a bit forced:P

Yeah. I like the song, but it's not great. I hope the album will be great though. I do miss some power from David , he is not as powerful as he was(well, yeah probably because he is older now. lol)

First off as a lifelong VH fan, more importantly CVH, I'm really diggin new song. Video is fun too. Yes, new song is def a grower and a slow burn, but it's fun and catchy as well. I think everyone sounds great. There's a magic with Dave and Ed that can't be denied. Imo. Also, I suspect this song won't resonate with the "instant gratification generation" as much as the classic ol' skool fans. I dunno. And I'm sure the rest of the album will include some intense, rocking and classicVH/DLR weirdness not so evident on Tattoo. After all, this is the first "single". I have complete faith and I'm happy thus far. smile

In a perfect world yes! FW and WACF are my faves. Don't think they'll go there, but as long as album is up there with the 6-pack, I'll be happy.

Fair Warning is my ALL TIME favorite Van Halen record. Out of all the Dave & Sammy albums that one is number 1 for me, but i have to say i highly doubt they will ever recreate what they did on that album/:

Fair Warning is my top pick as well. Agree with assessment rdhull. Like I've stated before, it's got some of the funkiest grooves VH has ever laid down. Imo. I can't wait to see what they've done on new album as a whole piece of work. Me thinks there's gonnna be some funky type grooves lurking within. cool

Thing is the expectations are so friggin high. Im sure initally there will be disappointment but given time, the release will probably be seen as a keeper. I hope Roth went back to their essence for this and not Eds version of what og VH fans desire.

Yes, after the dust settles, and the new album drops, all will be good in the land of new VH. lol.

Honestly though, I think the only album that knocked me out on first listen was the first album.

The rest, more or less, took some time to digest and sink in.Then over time, became classics. I'm confident I will not be dissapointed.

WTF??

Oh Silly Sammy... he is talking about the boys and there lack of creative juices, fair enough. But this line ''hey haven't released an album since my last album in something like 1991 or '92, and then they just go back. To me, it makes a strange statement, it kind of says, "We don't have anything, we're not a band anymore, we're not creative." Isn't it a strange statement to you?''

Balance came out in 95! how in the hell can he forget a whole album, singles, tour and everything! it was a year later when David joined the band for 5 minutes again....
