What talent??????????????????????????????

do you realize you can go to any HBCU and find black girls with that "Talent" you keep saying she has. Its NOT so much. Beyonce is a mediocre dancer at best, she great at booty shaking and coochie poppin, I hear her sing live during that performance and it was okay, she actually didn't sound that great which is why she stop singing the background vocals. lol

im just SICK and tired of hearing people say she has so much talent and is not using it.

I posted some videos from 2006, before beyonce single ladies, and i believe beyonce gets all her stuff from other people.

i repeat: "you could take any of these black girls from an HBCU and give them the "beyonce treatment" (songs, marketing, videos, image) and they be deamed just as "talented" a beyonce."

the whole performance was typical, i knew at the end it would be coochin poppin, and squeezing 200 plus women on stage. It was the same, but added graphics, and didn't janet and MJ do this before??? when i saw her performing yes it did remind me of janet jackson feedback. I noticed that before Sean even posted that gif.

I totally agree with everything you said. nod I was not wowed and with each special effect it became clearer that THAT was the talent. The efects drowned her out. The dancing was like some HS talent show, vocals were not great, and I am so through with these award shows. They are a complete joke now. The "artists" now have to tweet/jack each other off to make them think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread when in fact it's moldy at best.

And Nicki Minaj was just pitiful. disbelief I was embarrassed for her. And Britney? Lawd... lol I closed my eyes when she and Rihanna "sang" together and I couldn't tell which was which. I love Rihanna's SM song but when I heard Michelle Obama saying Bey was a role model for girls and I watched her coochie poppin' and Britney and Ri pole dancing...well, I just give the fuck up. shrug sigh

I agree. Talk about a HS talent show, that is exactly what it looked like Nicki was performing in. The set, the costume, and the dancing were all just horrible.

I didn't even want to watch this stupid show, but my mom did and I wasn't agreeing, but eventually gave in cause she gets so stressed out these days and thought it would make her happy, but I just complained the whole time asking wtf is wrong with britney and so forth....and saying award shows are idiotic now, but had a blast when seeing the piano and little moments like that. You know music's gone downhil when the presenters and comedians were more entertaining.

And yeah I kept thinking of freaking high school too.

The same thing has been said about Janet in the past.

Only time will tell what Beyonce's impact will be.

Janet got the flack because of her last name and being in the shadow of her family, she broke out of that. Even if Beyonce is a stronger vocalist, Janet is easier on the ears and does different things with her voice for different songs, I have yet to hear Beyonce do that. I don't know about all Janet fans, but I do know she's not the first dance diva and there were people before her, but she carved her own path. Even if Beyonce has potential, there is something so contrived about it all and I can't put my finger on it. I know she's a hard worker and she has talent, but there is so much payola for having such a vain award like that. I wouldn't want to accept that award if I were her and ask for it to be a better title if they must.....I really think artist of the decade would have been deserving and I really would have been happy for her, but it's hard to be now.

I agree with that for sure. Though I did love last night's performance, I do agree that a lot of the things Bey does are very calculated. She seems to have gotten a tad better, but she is almost like a robot and doesn't know how to relate to an audience.

yeah the graphics were really well done though I kept thinking of michael and janet, it was very entertaining....I thought she engaged the audience well at her tours when speaking to them. I agree she's robotic in a way though.

It just hit me who she is reminding me of and that is Whitney Houston. Not necessarily singing or perorming, but in her presentation. Bey is presented to the public as this perfect person, but you can see that there is something else beyond the surface.

We now know what Whitney's was, now. She and Bobby had a lot in common.

You know, I looked at Jay Z in the beginning of the show in the audience, and he did NOT look happy at all. I can only hope there are no serious issues for her this decade in her personal life, cause the perfect family image deal has been going on for a very, very long time, and from little hints over the years over things she has said in interviews or whatever, I would not be surprised if there was something we don't know, like issues with feeling controlled or abuse or whatever, and Matthew being a showbiz dad like Joseph though we've all heard it.

I agree. J did look a little "sad" last night. She also seemed a little timid about mentioning his name.

I hope there are no issues in their relationship that aren't too over the top, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors.

It just hit me right now that it took me back to when Lisa Marie looked pissed with MJ at the VMA's, I felt something familiar when watching and just realized that's what it was! I sometimes question her relationship to him too, cause she acts all happy having him, but her ballads and songs are about wanting to be independent or they are sad, especially the ballads on I Am Sasha Fierce. She seemed nervous a little when mentioning him too but I thought it was cause she was out of breath....is it just me or did she forget to thank God? I always recalled her being of the few to be doing that during speeches.

Well, J is the manager now and she may not be into "God" as much as she used to be. He's supposed to be part of that Illuminati stuff.

You know, the performance kinda loses its luster after watching it a second time...neutral

Adam the first man was near to perfection, after that each generation gets dumber then the next, which explains why beyonce's mediocre talent wows people like a light up toy wows a baby... lol

please show me were this was said biggrin because janet has proven herself... after 10 years and she still hasn't done anything innovative, let alone change her image.

Janet jackson has been able to put on a show, and each album truely is different.

I have been fans of both beyonve and janet, and the reason why im still a janet fan is because she has substance. Beyonce not so much. She is an attention whore, a fame whore. Its not about music with this girl, its about fame and "all about you" beyonce. lol

there was this video on youtube where this hood girl was talking about why she hates beyonce it was so hillarious.... if i find it i will post it.

Haven't seen it yet but the performance set-up kinda looks like when she did the performance to "Single Ladies" at the VMA's. I remember that in particular because when I was subscribed to The Skorpion Show, he made this big rant about how poor her performance was compared to Lady Gaga's. lol I'm sure some who probably subscribed him saw the video where he went off on Kanye West for his rant against Taylor Swift winning against Beyonce.

britney probably did turn down that award, 1. she didn't want to pay for it 2. she didn't feel like praticing and her managment didn't think she would be ready in time for the award show.

YES I BELIEVE SHE TURNED IT DOWN. biggrin

I know, right.

Left-Eye juggled balls on stage over a decade ago. So what?

I'm about tired of seeing every high energy singer with overies being likened back to Janet by her fans, who remind me of Little Richard insisting what he did before someone else: "I am the originator...I am the innovator...they all got it from me..." If Beyonce is anything like any female singer before her, it's 60s era Tina Turner, with a dash of 70s era Donna Summer. Not Janet Jackson.

I agree. Most of the fans are just trying to keep her relevant with the times with all these petty comparisons. lol No shade.

Anyway, Beyonce had the performance of the night. The whole graphics/powerpoint thingy was cool and everything during the performance was executed perfectly.

Now the FLOTUS needs to have a seat with that whole "Beyonce is a role model for younger girls" mess. She would be singing a different tune if asked whether she would allow her daughters to dance Beyonce's moves or sing her lyrical content! lol

I think the only reason The First Lady was co-signing Beyonce was because they work on a fitness campaign together. But yeah I don't think she would want her daughters to try to follow her. Least follow Willow Smith but keep the hair whipping to a minimum. lol
