Perhaps Deepak and his son should have spent some time in meditation before exploiting like everyone else, Michaels death.

We as fans understand all of the flaws that Michael had, and we also know what a giving person he was..

Unless we lived his life, or walked in his shoes we will never, never, know what he was going through.

"We as fans". You really can not speak for all of Michael's fans, because on this very board, and on this very thread there are people talking about "magic", and are all bent up as if they really perosnally knew the man. I won't be too specific about the postings because I don't want to make anyone feel bad. But there are people on this VERY BOARD who idolize Michael as if he was some sort of a god...and not like he was a freggin human being with talents like none other. SOME people on this thread and out in the world do not appear to be able to differentiate.

Hey, I never lived Michael's life. I'm sure that he was suffering a whole lot...not hard for one to see this. I'm not saying that I could have done any better if I were in his particular shoes from birth till death. But pathology is pathology no matter the causes, or who the pathological behavior is exhibited by.

"We as fans." Oh I knew I should have corrected that.

Whatever his fans feelings are for Michael that is their business. They have their opinions, feeliings, just as you have yours.

With due respect Reel!

We Had Him by Maya Angelou

Beloveds, now we know that we know nothing, now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips like a puff of summer wind.

Without notice, our dear love can escape our doting embrace. Sing our songs among the stars and walk our dances across the face of the moon.

In the instant that Michael is gone, we know nothing. No clocks can tell time. No oceans can rush our tides with the abrupt absence of our treasure.

Though we are many, each of us is achingly alone, piercingly alone.

Only when we confess our confusion can we remember that he was a gift to us and we did have him.

He came to us from the creator, trailing creativity in abundance.

Despite the anguish, his life was sheathed in mother love, family love, and survived and did more than that.

He thrived with passion and compassion, humor and style. We had him whether we know who he was or did not know, he was ours and we were his.

We had him, beautiful, delighting our eyes.

His hat, aslant over his brow, and took a pose on his toes for all of us.

And we laughed and stomped our feet for him.

We were enchanted with his passion because he held nothing. He gave us all he had been given.

Today in Tokyo, beneath the Eiffel Tower, in Ghana's Black Star Square.

In Johannesburg and Pittsburgh, in Birmingham, Alabama, and Birmingham, England

We are missing Michael.

But we do know we had him, and we are the world.

A reminder.

THE JACKSON 5: LIVE AT THE FORUM
Pre-order due June 29 (revised date)

THE JACKSON 5: LIVE AT THE FORUM (2-CD)
THE JACKSON 5: LIVE AT THE FORUM (2-CD)
Item# B001440502
$39.99

Product Description

THE JACKSON 5: LIVE AT THE FORUM is a new 2-CD set that uncovers an amazing chapter from the phenomenal career of Michael Jackson and his brothers in the J5: their extraordinary performances from the Los Angeles Forum, recorded in June 1970 and August 1972—the first at the start of their rapid ascent to stardom, the second when they became established icons. These brilliant shows have not been released in any form until now, the 40th anniversary of the 1970 show.

LIVE AT THE FORUM features earth-shaking live performances of the group’s best-known hits – “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” “I’ll Be There,” “Never Can Say Goodbye” and more. Single B-sides “I Found That Girl” and “I’m So Happy” and such surprises as album cuts “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Zip A Dee Do Dah,” plus songs not released by the J5 at the time, including covers of James Brown’s “There Was a Time” and the Isley Brothers’ “It’s Your Thing,” are part of the shows. The 1972 show also features a full, fantastic set of Michael’s solo hits, including “Got To Be There” and “Ben,” his brand new single at the time, as well as a solo spot by Jermaine.

Disc 1 includes the Forum show recorded June 20, 1970, when the group broke existing box office records at the venue. The J5, with three consecutive No. 1 hits, were on their first national tour, and the show is a unique document of the growing “Jacksonmania” gripping the globe. You can hear their delight in performing; their talent and rapport is phenomenal. In a sweet moment also captured on tape, 11-year-old Michael pays tribute to Diana Ross, who’s in the audience.

Disc 2 was recorded August 26, 1972, just three days before Michael’s 14th birthday. It’s practically a greatest hits show, with every major track by the group, and solo Michael and Jermaine, up to that point. Of particular note on both discs is the band performance: the group’s vocals are backed simply and forcefully by Jermaine on bass, Tito on guitar, Ronnie Rancifer on keyboards and Johnny Jackson on drums.

Each disc includes a bonus track: an unreleased full live version of “Mama’s Pearl,” from the concert that became part of the 1971 TV special Goin’ Back To Indiana, closes Disc 1; “I Wanna Be Where You Are,” from the soundtrack album to Save The Children, makes its CD debut at the end of Disc 2.

LIVE AT THE FORUM is housed in a collector’s digi-pak with rare photos, collectable postcards of the individual J5 brothers, and insightful liner notes by Duke University professor, author and unabashed J5 fan Mark Anthony Neal.

I am much older than you so I can discern between the 2.

I know about Michael's flaws, I also understand his addiction. However, I have followed Deepak as well for many years, reading his books attending his seminars.

I cannot imagine in all of my life, running to any television station that would have me to discuss something so personal about someone I loved..

As far as the plastic surgery who cares, it is done by millions of people. But because it is Michael it became a big issue. And, I disagree on one point. Michael had everything going for him.

We deal with life the best way we know how. What a burden he had on his shoulders, like so many of us.

Not sure how you know that you are "much older than me". Not even sure that I even want to know but I am no where near 90 yet.

And I mean no offense by this, but even if you are "much older" than myself, that absolutely does NOT affect your ability to discern anything more than anyone else. I have seen people of all ages unable to "get it". So that statement really holds no water. We all know theres a saying that "there is no fool like an old fool", that statement implies that there are people "not up on their thinking game" of all ages, and the older fools are in particular are profoundly the worst ones. Again I mean no personal insult to you, I was just pointing out the incorrectness of the association that you made in your opening statement.

As far as Deepak giving "a few" television interviews is concerned.....uh since when is it wrong to give an interview about the King of Pop...ESPECIALLY if he was once your friend? Makes absolutely no sense to me why people have issue with that. That's like not wanting to give an interview about your relationship with Martin Luther King...really? That's not saying that Michael was of the same caliber as King, however they probably are as equally famous world-wide and "touched" almost an equal amount of people in one way or another.

Plastic surgery done by millions of people....yes! Done to the tragic "body dysmorphic" degee that Michael did it?.....Absolutely not.

Lastly, somebody that has "everything going for them" and "recognizes that", will seek out some sort of appropriate intervention to save their lives, and not just wallow in behavior that will ultimatley end their lives.

This is my assessment.

I expect we will agree on the following as this is slightly objective: giving interview after interview in dozens of TV and radio shows just to talk about/enhance a friend's alleged issues from an outsider point of view is not the most correct position one can assume.

Whether Jackson was or not a drug addict, don't you think it's not correct to go on every TV and radio show, just a day after he is gone, to say "hey, he asked me for a prescription drug so he is a junkie"? Deepak literally made a media tour just to talk about Michael's alleged drug addiction. Disregardless of whether Jackson was indeed a junkie or not, the media tour protagozined by Deepak Chopra, of which the only theme was Jackson's alleged issues, was completely wrong from both a moral, intelectual and even therapeutic points of view.

As soon as Jackson was pronounced death, Deepak was EVERYWHERE, 24/7 talking about the deceased alleged issues. EVERYWHERE. There's no way to even eufemize it: it was wrong.

Deepak didn't just give "a few" interviews to talk "about the King of Pop". He gave many dozens of interviews in both radio and television shows just to talk about Michael's alleged drug addiction.

See it is threads like this ^^^ that let me know that Michael's fans have a problem with Deepak doing interviews because he addressed some of Michael's weaknesses, the weaknesess that ultimately lead to his death. The fans don't want to hear the truth.

What the critics of Deepak fail to balance is that he also for many EXONERATED Michael publically of any notion that he engaged in any inappropriate behavior or sexual behavior with children. He also advised of the vitiligro which many in the public (including myself) did not believe because of other lies that Michael had told about having surgeries (ie. Oprah Winfrey interview). Many belived that Michael just wanted to lighten his skin for more sinister motivations.

Heck, I'm not going to "convert" anyone back to Deepak at this point, but people need to be aware of why they really feel the way that they do, and stop kidding themselves.

Yet, you failed to address my point. You're the only one who is self-deceiving.

And Deepak should know that there is a difference between taking prescription drugs and being addicted to presecription drugs. Michael, a Lupus patient, asking any doctor for prescription drugs isn't necessarily a sign of drug addiction. I also take prescription drugs and, yet, I'm not an addict. A Lupus patient asking doctors for drugs is natural. The contrary would be stranger. AGAIN: There's a difference between taking prescription drugs and being addicted to them.

Like Miko Brando said, in the Larry King interview along with Deepak, Michael took pills and rightfully so, but he didn't take more than he should, he wans't addicted.

Ree-Ree, I've stripped you naked. Just give it up.

Exactly. And no one seems to have the decency to say "no". No one seems to stop Joe. Michael should have sued him for harassment decades ago (remember John Landis' interview). MJ should have sued Poppa Joe for his slanderous revenges decades ago. He should have put a gag and "cease and desist" orders on Joe decades ago.

This man always lived to go after/hound/harass/stalk/torture/badger anyone who had a dime. He does things out of pure malice and has absolutely no affect for anyone other than himself. There's nothing good about him. The fact that Katherine chooses to be his puppet speaks volums.

But no one seems to want to confront this guy. He will die doing what he wants, when he wants, how he wants. He can't care less who he hurts in the process. That's one of the (dozens of) horrors of Joe Jackson.

1. Which interview are you speaking about?

and

2. What was up with "PENIS" and "FOREST"?

Please?

And my beliefs had nothing to do with the artist that I saw on television. I just knew that with practicing pedophiles, its never just "one kid"...there are usually many. For only one boy to come out and make and allegation, and for his father to not even pursue trial, but too just go straight for the money settlement....that told me right there that those allegations were so untrue. The guy in this clip get's that story all wrong so his credibility is questionable, there was no trial and no acquittal. And although I've heard that the boy reported that his father made him lie. I have yet to find one credible article where the boy retracted that story. I did find something stating that the father committed suicide.

Wish Trey Songz had a vocal coach like this man to tell him when he's singing off and wrong.

I remember that horrific event where that little boy's father wanted to get back at his mother, and he took him to a hotel room and lit him on fire. That was so very terrible. I didn't realize that Michael was supposedly supporting him.

I don't see any evidence of Michael ever being "attracted" to children/boys. Yes, he loved children and sympathized with those who were suffering to the point where it brought him to tears. But that doesn't mean there's an "attraction" there, like you claim. Unless you're using the wrong word to describe his love for children...

You should check out this documentary. It's pretty interesting

I actually sat through and watched all of that. When I FIRST saw the interview with Bashir the night it aired I thought....oh my gosh he's' manipulating the crap out of Michael. He's patronizing him and leading him down the wrong road. And when they did that closeup of Michael holding that boys hand and saying that "there's nothing like sharing your bed with someone". I KNEW that someone somewhere was fixing to lower the boom on Michael. I wished that I could reach out and cover his mouth during that interview. But moreso that that....I wish that he was not so stubborn because he had been warned by many people to stay away from little boys. He had no business in close relationships like that with them. Even Smokey Robinson said that he warned Michael. And you know what..Bashir ended up like getting some sort of a promotion after that documentary he started hosting Nightline.

I wonder if the mother of those boys were ever prosecuted for fraud. She's obviously a sociopath, and a drama queen actress.

The creator of this chump went out like a sucker towards the end by saying only that MJ died of a heart attack possibly the results of stress that he had as a result of the trial. No thinking person is buying that "death" cause. Now i do believe that Michael probably fell into an unbeilevable depression and became even more sickly because if it (ie. losing weight, reports of dehydration etc.)

There's gotta be true justice here on earth. That woman and her damned children should be in jail. Child molestation is the absolute worst thing in the world that you can accuse someone of. The absolute worst. There is no coming back from that...and eventhough I never believed those allegations, they are allegations of the sort that if I had children, I STILL wouldn't leave them unsupervised with Michael. Just because. You can never ever wipe the slate clean after someone makes that allegation against you....regardless of your innocence.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I think Seth was talking about both allegations - saying that the first case was settled and the second had him acquitted. Like you though, there is no "official" statement that Jordy made claiming the allegations were forced on him by his father. Many have taken one posting on a website (and it may have originated by a well meaning but short sighted fan) and refered to it as fact, which is dangerous. I remember Jermaine doing such a thing. As it is most likely the statement isn't credible, it only puts Jordy in a position of having to deny it and claim the allegations were true (and again without Michael to defend himself). Some might see that the fact he hasn't made a comment means the statement attributed to him is true, but until i read it in a credible source I will not be quoting it.

As for the boy set on fire, this is Dave Dave who Michael befriended many years ago. Michael supported or assisted many families (of both boys and girls) and many of his good deeds went undisclosed and unpublished - the way he would have wanted it.

This is the bottom line. I know first hand how generous, loving, and giving MJ was, not just to children, but also to fans. Michael truly loved his fans.

And we loved him. So much.

Was it not a part of settlement that both parties had been forbidden to speak about the case (?)

Or was that clause supposed to be invalid after MJ's death?

In any way I think that that fake statement was a rather smart move.

Firstly, there is a whole lot of people out there who remained truly believing that Chandler brat DID make this statement (this is unfair and wrong - yes; but remembering how the folks had judged MJ by fake and false reports the media never stopped to invent... well, TOUCHE! lol razz )

Secondly, I saw reports and blog entries about how that 'statement' brought their authors to make their own researches about MJ case - although they were aware the statement was fake - and they end up changing their mind about him being guilty. And wrote about that dancing jig

(Still I can't estimate how legally dangerous that was)

Was anybody digging Chris Brown's BET Award Performance tonight. I thought he did a very good job on that Michael Jackson Tribute. The emotional breakdown at the end sealed the deal for me and made him "forgiveable". Best of wishes with your comeback and sustainability Chris Brown.

Wasn't feeling it. I think he's taking advantage of the fact that so many people miss MJ to try and make himself look better.

I sorry to say this but only Americans would buy this fake sh*t, sorry , Chris Brown faked that sh*t, and he used MJ's memory to suck up to fans and people who respect MJ's work..

This is sick, I had already given Chris Brown the time of day, and hoped he could get his career back on track, and come to the UK when the visa stuff had been sorted, but not now, that fake MJ tribute has ended that.

Chris Brown you have let yourself down and let MJ down, Fame is not worth it, your sad. mad sad

Gone Too Soon - The Ian Helperin documentary.

Gone too soon just aired here in Australia (the complete version) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The film is respectful, honest and paints for the most part a positive impression of Michael. It wasn't overly salacious as I thought it would be, but tempered with an open and objective point of view. There was no mention of Michael being gay (a salacious point that is a blip in the biography he wrote last year), and the documentary made more of an attempt to understand Michael, what he had been through, and what lay ahead for him.

Halperin uses a few "tabloid" techniques (going "undercover", or shooting a piece from the ambulance that Michael was transported to hospital in) and sometimes presents people with an allusion that they knew Michael without giving real context but he reiterates his belief that Michael was innocent of both abuse allegations and criticises the media that failed to present the facts.

Even when discussing Michael's kids he balances the obvious curiosity about the kids parentage and even alludes to who he thinks fathered them, but in the same breath he says whether or not Michael is their biological father is irrelevant as Michael WAS their father, and a good one at that.

His finally summary gives you an overview of the show, but I would recommend seeing it if you have the opportunity.

"There was a time when I condemned Michael Jackson because I didn't really know who he was, because I didn't really know the true story. After 5 years of piecing it all together, I finally understand what the world has lost. Rest In Peace Michael Jackson"

~~~ did anyone else watch this? Be interested to see other's views who sat through and watched it all ~~~
The second part of the documentary aired over here yesterday and even thought at first, it seemed OK logically, I couldn´t help but to feel furious inside and thinking it over again, I realized why I felt this way.
I don´t think that you can reach „objectivity“ by puttin pozitive and negative opinions together. Nonsense. I was glad at first that some things were said FINALLY, but I realized that they were no good in the end because by mixing pozitive and negative opinions, fans will find there their own thing to make them happy and shut them up, but haters will, too, and guess whose arguments will eventually prevail? The ones of the haters? Why? Here´s an example:
Many people claimed that Mike was a great father, but the public´s opinion of Mike´s paranting skills is based only on pictures of the kids wearing masks and him dangling Blanet over the balcony. That was shown three times! I don´t think that you can persuade someone into believing he was a great father no matter how many people say it when you only show the pictures with masks and that balcony scene. So the argument of the man screaming „how could he do such things to those children?“ won in the end because the argument that he was a good father was not supported by any positive footage of Mike and his kids or some stories on how he raised the kids.
His marriages! Many people expressed their opinions about his marriage to LMP, but why didn´t they let LMP comment on it?
Many people expressing contradictory opinions and how do you expect the public to know what´s what? So in short, another dissapointment.
And I am sorry for confusing you with the love letters to June Chandler. It wasn´t to June Chandler, but some other June who was his spritiual advisor or what. In the small clips, they showed the letter just after speaking about tha Chandler case, so when it said Dear June, I thought it was Chandler.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
