I watched This Is It tonight; the last time I heard I Just Can't Stop Loving You must've been 1989, I forgotten all about that beautiful song. I realize again why I loved him so when I was a kid; he was filled with the energy of his music, and his songs on repeated listens kept that power to energize. He still had all the ability in him....
Back in 88, my uncle took me to see Moonwalker and it was the most powerful experience of my life at that point. I can remember the feeling of adrenaline surging down my body at various moments...........if I only knew now what I knew then.

In the weeks right after he had died I repeatedly run to my priest friend and made him confirm over and over again that reincarnation doesn't exist (at least in his... "review"). That was enormously important for me back then [Edited 6/25/10 16:17pm]

I'm thinking of alot of things
one of them is Michael's heart
The man not gave us music, but he gave back through charities. He gave back to his community, he gave so much to popular culture
the music. His entire discography is the blueprint of my development as a person. It's in my DNA. I found out last night that so many songs that I've heard, I know the lyrics and I may have not listened to a song for some time. I knew the words to "You Are There", or "Children Of The Light" or "The Mirrors of My Mind" or "Man Of War" by heart. That's how impactful he's been
the man there are VERY few artists who where not only I like their work, but I also like them as a person. I loved Michael because as weird as some people may think, but I related to Michael. His personality is similar to mine in some ways.
and another thing, and this will be the only time I talk about this BS subject, but this Prince vs Michael thing......there isn't "Prince won" or "Michael won"
We won, music won, because those 2 brothers were generous enough to share their work with us and we're a better people because of it [Edited 6/25/10 17:10pm] "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Yeah I noticed that too! It was used in the beginning of the film, but wasn't on the literal soundtrack. It was featured on his Ultimate Collection box set from 2004... Check me out and add me on:

Well there you go. 'I Just Can't Stop....' is a song that to me grows in stature by the year, it's amazingly overlooked in his cannon of songs. got dissed by someone up in here recently.
It's a song i always loved, i was so glad to have MJ back after his couple of years off. So underrated. I've heard it at three weddinngs i've been to, one was a couple that had divorced and re-married. funny.
Yeah, definately underrated. And that performance in 'This Is It'. Fucking shit hot Mike! WOOOO!

I meant I felt a kinship to him

Michael transcended race and class. NYC is a pretty tough place to just cold blast a boom box on the train and everyone start dancing together without anybody getting annoyed. I know because I'm a NY'er. Nobody seemed annoyed. It almost seemed cathartic.
Now it's time for me to prepare to watch Larry King and like 4 hours of tribute to Michael Jackson for the day. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I would pay a decent amount of money for this shirt that Michael Jackson wore in this video. I loved how soulful Michael looked and sounded in this video. One of my favorites. I really wish I could sing this song, because I would do so at every Karaokee gig that I went to. Just not my timbre. But awesome.

Yeah. Yokohama. Cool. But i need Wembley man. So much. That guy on gearslutz with his tease-talk about the pro-audio, I'm not impressed. What a twat. i was there both the 14th and 16th alongside Jack Nicholson, Frank Bruno and Princess Diana, I need that shit like fucking NOOOOOWWWWW! He should get on with it and free that right now and stop fannying about. His life is in as much danger as Doctor Murraaaaigh!

Currently I am watching MTV because they are having a video countdown, and then there will be another show after that, talking about his influence on music, and different musicans.
Then I will be watching 20/20,because they will be talking with Michael's mother. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

*Erm... I didn't mean to get personal*
It's still remarkable how apparently wholly different people manage to find each their own connection point to MJ
Anyway, thanks once again for the "Off the Wall" compilation - had keep me through the day... ...Oh, and I red your essay

While other people's hair looks drier than Joe Jackson's back account, Michael mastered the no drip curl/baby hair combo......and them dry haired lames hate to this day for that
