I have no idea what it must be like to "idolize" anyone, because there was no one that I idolized that walked this earth (well besides Jesus). I will say that Michael had some sort of a pull on everyones souls. For years people, particularly Christians have always cautioned to be careful of what you listen to because some things can seep into the spirit or into the soul. Michael had the gift. He was a Pied Piper. Thankfully his Music was positive so I had no concern about his music "seeping". But there is something definitely "going on" with his music and the spirit of people. He literally moved the world. I appreciate the man's work. I have a great appreciation for his work.

No I don't know what it's like to "love" someone that I don't know personally. I do know what it's like to admire the heck out of them and their work. I'm a hard sister to make cry, and yes the tears even rolled for me.

You know how much in denial I was about his death? My friend called and said "Yo MJ is dead likely from an overdose". I said...."Oh yeah...that's not surprising", and then I hung up. Then like 2 days later it hit me like a TON OF BRICKS. I know my friend who called and advised me of this was like WTF? I just couldn't "deal" with it at the time of his call so I "shut it down". I could "deal" 2 days later. Michael's music was the "backdrop" for the lives of almost everyone his age and younger, so you have the whole world aged 52 and under who were likely somehow influenced by this man's work.

A year ago, I was walking down the street and this lil kid about age 5 likely Filipino...was singing and dancing singing "Keep on...with the force don't stop....Don't stop till you get enough". I mean how many kids sing and dance to songs that were made like 30 years before they were born? Amazing.

michael jackson's ability to capture the imagination is something i have never seen before in my life,im talking about generations of people who loved him.funny story the other day we was watching the american dream movie and the part of the movie where they were doing the motown 25 performance was on, my niece who just turned 4 this month was watching and after they did 'the love you save' she started humming the music to 'ill be there', now they didnt perform that song on the movie but on the real motown 25 they did go right into that song. i was amazed she would remember that.there are babies who love this man and sing songs like beat it and billie jean like they just came out. i never met mj and he didnt know me from adam, but when he passed it really did hurt and my family felt like we lost another family member. mj was rare in that alot of people had this kinda love/not cool relationship with him, sort of like we have with our real relatives.

^ It's strange, right? I never met the man but I think I love him as well. I mean, this must explains why even after a year his death is still a very sensitive issue for me. It still effin hurts. I dunno. Like many MJ fans, I can relate to Mike. It might seems strange to some but Michael was someone I really cared for.

Michael was the very fist artist I remember hearing about as a child. Even then, without seeing any of his videos or even knowing what he looked like, I always thought he was some sort of a magical being. LOLS! lol

I'm not kidding. When I was a kid, I thought he was a magician or something especially when I saw Smooth Criminal. I just couldn't understand how he did the lean.... xD Oh yea, hate to be mushy but I also thought that he was just the most handsomest man I've ever seen. Oh Lawd... I had it bad for Mike... Haha!

I feel really blessed... to have seen something like Michael in my lifetime. It is really an honour.

One day when I have kids of my own, I will tell them about Mike and how special he is.

I already see the new generation of MJ fans...

He might not be as appreciated in our time but I can see future generations discovering Michael for his artistry and genius and his kind heart. They probably would wonder why the world treated him the way they did.

You'll always be in my heart and memories...

Love...

A sincere fan.

All through MJ's career there was a list of "the next MJ" but no one ever truly took it.

People dubbed "the next" included:

MC Hammer (seriously)

Bobby Brown

Usher

Justin Timberlake

Chris Brown

Ne-Yo

The thing that people don't realise is that in the same way U2 are not the next Beatles, there is no next Elvis, and there will not be a next MJ. All three were unique and individual.

Artists should concentrate more on being the next "them" than being the next someone else - and journalists who draw this links just show how little they know about the comparisons.

That little boy annoys the hell out of me. I was just thinking to myself "Why am I hating on a 16 year old"? Maybe it's his hair. But what really sealed the hateration for me was he said that he saw Michael directing the musicians on how he wanted a song to be played. Lil Bieber says "I'm going to take more control now after seeing Michael do that". WTF lil boy you better DO WHAT THE HELL THEY TELL YOU TO DO so you can be around for a damned second tour. Your azz aint no musical genius. STAY IN YOUR PLACE !

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

Well, I managed to survive today without watching any televised so-called "tributes" or anything affiliated with CNN. Just listened to the music, and spent time with some close fan friends. Managed not to cry as much as i thought I would....*sigh*

I still remember how I felt on this day a year ago. Like I was hit by a truck...my 15 year old friend told me Hispanic tv just mentioned MJ is gone...I couldn't move from in front of my computer for 2 hours.

God, I miss you Mike....Oh damn, here come the tears cry

I read all of these and got teary eyed again

I'm scared my memories of getting excited will fade or are beginning to cause I'm too hurt to think about them. But it was stuff along the lines of him and his music and all of his inspiration and things that made me smile becoming escapism from the pressures of everyday life.

Not available, but some fans probably have footage just like there are HQ concerts of the Bad and Dangerous concerts among some fans/collectors

Bad Tour in Brisbane where Stevie and Michael do a duet of Bad

Dangerous Tour In Bueno Aires

Destiny Tour in New Orleans

I have a very good memory and I know they will never be gone, it's very sharp when it comes to mj, but I Feel like the death has tainted them now but I have to keep fighting. I'm not over this at all and yet I can't feel the pain 100 percent. A part of me feels mad at him for dying though he was killed, I just can't admit that last part. I can admit it happened to someone else but not him, I just can't, I just can't....then I don't react and get mad at myself and then the next thing you know I'm crying when seeing clips from last summer that I couldn't watch or felt numb during. I didn't cry once during that memorial like I thought until Paris was on I felt emotional a bit. Now if I see any footages of it or whatever, I start bawling. I don't touch heal the world at all but I heard someone singing it and started crying so hard sad sad

Funnny you mention the magician thing. Before he was 'The King Of Pop' i'm sure he was nicknamed 'The Magic' by some.

Infact i seem to remember a 'The Magic is Back!' sticker on my BAD album. Unless i'm remembering wrong.

I have a liitle more respect for Justin bieber after this

When it comes to "King of Pop" Michael Jackson, don't mess with Justin Bieber. The teen singing sensation was one of many guests on "20/20" Friday talk talking about how the legendary singer influenced his life -- however, he wasn't altogether pleased with some of the show's more controversial segments.
Bieber shared his thoughts in a post on his Twitter account:
"im glad to be a part of the 20/20 michael jackson special but i wish they would cut the nonsense and focus on the great entertainer he was."
During the special ABC aired footage from a member of the paparazzi taken while Jackson was being carted away to the hospital. Some felt it inappropriate for Michael's final hours to be documented, even more so than frequently discussing some of his legal woes.
Do you understand Justin Bieber's complaint? Let me know your thoughts and stay tuned for more of the latest news. To view recent photos of Justin, follow the link here

Thank you EmeraldSkies and dag for watching the short.

EmeraldSkies - I'm glad you were happy to cry happy tears.

dag - I hope your tears were happy ones. If they were sad tears, I'm sorry.

I hope the takeaway message is that..the magic..that Michael gave his fans

will live forever inside of us. And to never stop believing in it. MJ would hate it

if we lost that part of us. During life it is one of the things that connected a lot of

us fans to him - and we will always be able to have that bond with him, even though he

is in a better place now.
