Prince's is just a little bit better because of that amazing Purple Rain performance but if Janet just ended without the titty slip she would be #1.

Janet is trending topic on Twitter. eek

Haha people are pissed that the superbowl officials are so scared of her tit that we got three years of senior citizens.

Janet is Truely underrated. I have bought ALL her albums. And my friends will talk about how they don't like janet. As soon as i play the albums they are asking to get a copy. People just don't give janet the time of day. She is blacklisted. and MAJORITY OF PEOPLE FOLLOW THE LEADER. When someone is Hot everyone is buying their music even if it really is crap, Honestly Man Gaga and Kanye West aren't creating anything better then janet jackson. They are just more popular.

I Think janet needs to cut back with the sex stuff. But her music is actually great if i you give it a chance.

From the last three albums she had some nice cutts like

Rock With You
Curtain
Luv
Roll Witchu
With U
All Nite
Island Life
Just a Little while.

I have a friend who only listed to janet's 80s stuff, when i played "island life" he could not get enough of that song.

I enjoy her latest Song, MAKE ME. Thats another underrated song, and YES songs may take time to grow on you. But that song is a classic janet song.

Janet has NOT changed her style of music. She has really been making the same music since the velvet rope.

I totally agree with you.

Janet has unquestionably been BLACKlisted since the Superbowl.

DISCIPLINE and DAMITA JO are two of the best albums from 2000s - period. Additionally, the FEEDBACK and ROCKWITU videos were out of this world, with Janet at the top of her game.

Janet is arguably better than she's ever been. Many of the people cannot realize this because they don't think for themselves.

I honestly like her music now even more then the RN and Janet albums.

Sorry but AFY, Damita Jo, Even Discipline have some amazing songs on them. Not to mention 20 Y.O. That was just a fun album.

AFY if you give it a second listen, you will see that....

AFY
Come on get up
China Love
Would You mind
Son of a Gun
Someone to Call my lover
Trust
You aint right
When We Ooh

.... are some enjoyable songs

Damita Jo

Damita Jo
Island Life
Just a little while
All Nite
RnB Junkie

I just think that some of her best stuff is her most recent work!!!!

Janet is just underrated, if Beyonce or Rihanna put out those songs they go straight to the top. With NO doubt or hard criticism.

Its Like nothing Janet does is good enough for people. I think even her fans critcize. THEY DON'T REALIZE JANET HAS BEEN MAKING THIS KIND OF MUSIC SINCE 1993!!!!! JANET HAS NOT REALLY CHANGED AT ALL.

The reality is Janet Jackson managed to be thoughtful, provocative, and interesting during the Janet and Velvet Rope eras. All For You, which was one of her biggest selling records, was when she went from sexy and smart to just plain sex crazed.

Damita Jo (one of my favorite Janet records, fyi) didn't do well because of a combination of super bowl (both public opinion and industry punishment for causing the uproar), same old same old material, and no tour to fix the image.

20 Y.O. didn't do well because it's an awful record. Janet Jackson fans are pop fans and a large majority of them are gay fans who are not interested in ghetto-ization of Janet Jackson (thanks, Dupri rolleyes ). And again, she didn't tour to repair her already damaged image.

Discipline is a solid pop record with a lot of fun, signature Janet-style stuff on it. The problem is her image had been hurt so badly by the previous 2 flops and no tour that she was digging herself out of a deep hole. Relevance is hard to reclaim when people have moved on and deemed you a one trick pony (no pun intended). Add to that the fact that she finally toured and then ended it early? Terrible image maintenance.

As it opportunistic and callous as it sounds, the best thing that could have happened to her career was Michael's death. It reminded people why we love those Jackson siblings so much: they are brilliant, fun, talented pop stars. If Janet capitalizes on the country's sympathy towards MJ, she could stage a great comeback. Part of that requires her to give the audience what the audience remembers. Nobody wants Jermaine's version of Janet, we just want the Janet Jackson we fell in love with back.

I must be the only one that thinks 20YO is one of her best albums.
[Edited 2/7/10 16:41pm]

NOPE!!! I can just about play 20 Y.O from start to finish without skipping.

I remember before the album came out i listened to 30 second previews of each song and KNEW that album would be enjoyable and it is!!! Its just a really fun album. Get it out me, This body, Show me! i always sing those songs all the time.

Haven't bought a Janet album in years. On some tracks, she'll giggle; on some tracks, she'll moan; and she'll have a message track thrown in to show her depth.

I was given her 'Number Ones' as a gift and it's quite good. It has all the essential tracks and no of the filler(giggles, moans, voicemails, more moans, sexier giggles etc.) from her CDs. Plus the cut'Make Me' is crazy hot!
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Jermaine Dupri must really have the magic stick. I love Janet Jackson, BAD BAD BAD decision. Hopefully she will let him produce just one track (a b side) and either go back to Jimmy and Terry, or another producer who can update her yet give the fans what they want. I do not want to hear Janet on hip hop tracks, I want to dance. Please Janet, reconsider.

if you haven't bought it, HOW WOULD YOU KNOW IF ITS GARBAGE????? Listening to an album ONE time does NOT count.

All they are doing is wasting their time. Janet will continue to make the same music she has been making for the past 15 years. ITS NOT GOING TO CHANGE. SO MOVE ON IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT.

THAT IS YOUR OPINION. BUT I RATHER LISTEN TO DAMITA JO!!! lolololol

like i said, they have the baby making songs, they have the edgy rock dance songs, and the pop songs on there. Its all the same except one album janet is depressed and the other janet is enjoying herself.

its like people don't want to see janet having fun enjoying herself. She has to be depressed.

Go Deep is equivalent to RnB Junkie (BUT YOU WOULDN'T KNOW SINCE YOU DIDN'T BUY THE ALBUM)

I get so lonely is equivalent to I Want You

You is equivalent to Just a little While/Sexhibition

Got til its gone equivalent to Island Life

All Nite is equivalent to Together Again

Its just people want janet to sing about some serious topics. THE QUALITY OF MUSIC HAS NOT CHANGED! the lyrics are actually happy and i think is PATHETIC people want janet to be in a depression.

Some people say all of janet's music pretty much sound the same. AND AS A FAN, WHO BOUGHT ALL HER ALBUMS, it pretty much sounds the same, and has the same forumla. SO FOR PEOPLE WHO DID NOT BUY THE ALBUM, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!! I LISTEN TO THE ALBUMS SEVERAL TIMES. Thats all i really listen to is AFY album, Damita Jo album, 20 y.o. album and Discipline album.

Im basically wasting my time arguing with people who don't know what the **** they are talking about. When you buy a janet jackson album and listen to it front and back ATLEAST 4-6 TIMES. Listen to EVERY SONG!!! and NOT on some cheap headphones. THEN you can talk!! But if all you heard was a 30 second to a minute clip, or even the song one time. Your opinion does not hold much weight.

YES IM pissed, because people won't appreciate janet until she dies. Then she is going to have all these fake fans go out and buy her stuff. After her death, just like they did with michael.

Janet is one of the most talented entertainers, and the most underrated. Her fans have changed big time. They just follow the crowd. If the media was all over janet like Britney spears and Beyonce. You guys wouldn't be saying anything about the albums. But the minute she gets blacklisted now everyone hates her music.

WHAT A FAKE. Why did you all go out and buy the AFY album when that came out???? But won't buy Discipline or Damita Joe which are even better albums then AFY?????

and you would think since she did the velvet rope (the album "fake fans" claims they love so much) right before AFY album, people would have crapped on the AFY album (Which by YOUR standards AFY album isn't even close to being as good as TVR). Its all fake!. and Janet's fake fans need to be called out.

Janet is NOT going to change either get with the program or move on!!!! Its 2010! Even im tired of the Janet hate and complaining and i used to complain about janet too. But it was about her lyrics.

sometimes once is enough to know that you never want to hear it again, let alone own it. unless you're willing to put in the time and effort to listen to it again and again and again to brainwash yourself into thinking you like it just because you've become familiar with it.

that NOT true, its NOT brainwash. Majority of this garbage on the radio is Crap. But you keep the radio all day and hear the same songs over and over again. So you end up liking them. NOT because they are all that.

SO why give that music a chance but NOT janet!!! Listening to stuff one time you don't get a good feel. You dont really get to hear the lyrics and the music. The right way you are judging it hard. If you listen to it with out judgement and YOU claim your a janet fan then you will like her music. If you liked her Velvet Rope album you will like the new stuff.

Yeah is so is All Nite!, and I want You! they are classics too.

What im saying is that the albums have a similar forumal and classic songs.

RnB today is MUCH DIFFERENT from the 90s. RnB today is watered down and less soulful. It looks its rhythm. If you buy a Neyo album You can't say anything about janet jackson.
