ROCKWITU was made with Durpri right? Very cool song. Rockwitu is a magic song with a JANET sound, and it shows that Dupri can be quite versatile, so long as the song doesn't open with "yall know who this is..."

I wish I hadn't heard the underground track he bit for "Rockwitu" or I could hold on to that same false hope. sigh

Please, post it.

You will see on the credits for "Rock Wit U" that Eric Stamile is credited. He did this 2007 remix:

The Janet song is still great but my point was I am not about to cite Dupri for suddenly being a great house producer lol

Janet's doing major writing herself for this album.Which says that she is deeply into it. Interscope is a huge record label and there part of A&M records now. They are going to make sure this record gets played and promoted & be full of hit singles and put Janet where she deserves back on top. Jimmy Levine head of interscope said it himself he is personally attached to this new Janet album and has faith in her. When Jimmy Levine gets behind an artist please believe its gong to be a successful project.

I think the label is putting her with different producers including JJ&TL. So they can pick the best tracks for this new project.
With her brother gone and her new movie & book coming out.The pieces are in place to bring her back on top again. Her being 43 has nothing to do with it. What's meant to happen will happen.

Jermaine Dupre brought Mariah back with "We belong together". Maybe working with Brian Cox they will come up with a good track this time that suits her.

Discipline(which Janet signed for me) was a good album and had a lot of potential. It just wasn't the right time for it. Its best that she left Island/Defjam and look where she is now. Where she belongs back with A&M Records. That wouldn't have happen if she was still with that label and LA Reid. Who didn't give a crap about her in the first place.

What are you talking about? confused

Jimmy IOVINE never said these things you're claiming. It's not even confirmed that she's under A&M/Interscope.

and these quotes..... neutral

"Back to the top where she belongs"

"This is going to be a huge year for Janet."

"Jermaine Dupre brought Mariah back with "We belong together"

is the same shit we've been saying for like a decade! I wish her fans would just get over the FACT that this is all just wishful thinking.

Smokes and mirrors.

And how many times are we going to bring up "We Belong Together"? MAYBE if we were talking about Mariah working with him again, but we're not.

"Rock Wit U" the song is still really ill, but should we expect to look forward to more versatile dance productions from Dupri? Probably not.

Janet Jackson has been signed to A and M Records again and has started working on her new album with Rodney Jerkins.

Janet Jackson has quietly returned to A&M Records, according to New York Daily News. Now that the deal is finalized, the recording company takes its focus on promoting her greatest hits album "Number Ones" which has been in U.S. stores since November 17.

"A&M wants this CD to remind people how great Janet is," a source testifies. "They're hoping it'll whet the public's appetite for Janet and pave the way for her new music."

Moreover, the insider revealed that the label's executive Jimmy Iovine has tapped acclaimed producer Rodney Jerkins, who contributed to Janet's 2008 album "Discipline", to work on her next album. The source explained, "Jimmy has given the mandate to make this Janet record a success. He believes that he has the right team in place to finally take Janet back to the top of the music charts. It's a top priority for the label." The album is plotted to come out in the second quarter of 2010.

Yea, I love RWU. Very dreamy track wink

Tbh, I'm kind of disappointed at JD. Not that I found him to be this stellar producer but he did the same with So Much Betta. So he's really not versatile.... at all lol

If she branched out into Nu-Disco and Dance punkish sounds I'd definitely be interested, I think Make Me and Feedback are her best singles of the decade. She's played out the R&B time to leave it behind completely.

Yeah it's like a pattern lol If true ugh. lol

Everytime she records a new album, the people involved go to the media and say the same stuff....

We're going back to the 'Control' sound....going back to basics....the songs will be upbeat and fun...the album is gonna have the classic Janet Jackson sound

The finished album never seems to live up to the hype.

She'll never do it because she wants to sellout to the new bullshit. I dropped her ass beginning with the album right after "Rhythm Nation" and have only heard her later stuff while flipping through TV channels as fast as I can to get past the horrible video channels so I won't hear the bullshit that's played on them. lol

Janet's only real recording successes has been with Jam and Lewis. Has she not done the math??

JD should leave JJ alone! Maybe go find those Criss Cross kids and do a reunion album with them. biggrin

she was probably as bored with All For You as I was and decided she needed to do something else.

too bad she didn't have a coherent direction lined up first.
