Official MJ "This Is It" thread - Part 2

I know people are going to want to discuss the album and film so here you go. Hopefully this will keep the MJ sticky from going too crazy with these new releases. We'll sticky this up soon. Please keep the discussion of the movie and record here without starting duplicate threads. Thanks! - [Mars23]

In industry parlance, it can be said that the film has "legs".

I saw it today at it was an awesome production for a series of rehearsals. I was suprised Jam was part of the setlist, it's a little loved fave of mine. It makes me think what could have been. I couldn't help but to notice how skinny he looked from what I'm used to or maybe because I was looking at him for a longer period of time than usual. As far as I'm concerned, he still had that stage magic and presence. The dancers, the band, background singers, everybody was great to watch.

Yup, so "This is it" album is no. 1, the 6th album of MJ that's made it to that hot spot. For those saying the movie was under par, it seems like they are in the absolute minority because the film is doing just as well. Everyone I've spoken to about it, is happy they saw it and full of compliments. It seems the dvd release has been postponed because of the extension of the time in the cinema.

I think Frand Dileo said that 70% are going to the Michael Jackson estate = Michael´s children and Katherine.

So here we have 30% for movie, 30% for upcoming dvd release etc. Still who knows WHO will really get 70%? You know, those companies know that Michael is good brandname and I don't think so they will be happy "just" with 30%..

According to media sources who actually read the court documents, the estate will receive 90 percent of the film's revenue.

Well, if it´s 90%, even better.
