You mean where the detective said something about Michael's injections?

I think the injection marks were a result of his "self-medicating" with Propofol.

[Edited 8/27/09 17:48pm]

I don't think he was self injecting because the nurse said that he wouldn't do that which is why he kept doctor shopping. I have a suspicion that Klein was doing it for a long while because he has done things that as a Derm he's not supposed to be doing i.e. fixing Michael's nose.

ET has learned that the Los Angeles County Coroner's office will announce tomorrow morning the cause and manner of Michael Jackson's death.
A press conference is not expected, but rather a paper statement will be released. This comes on the heels of the unsealing of two more search warrants on what police found in both Michael Jackson's rented home and the abandoned car connected to his former personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.
In the house, authorities located bags of marijuana, and a quantity of what was described in the warrant as "tar heroin in a bag in the decedent's bedroom located on the 2nd floor."
However, a source tells ET it was not heroin -- it was "a bag of old, rancid marijuana…left to rot."
It was found in "a little bag within an athletic or duffle bag in Michael's bedroom," the source told ET special correspondent Diane Dimond.
Also found in the house, fourteen pill bottles containing sleep and anti-anxiety medications. Also taken by police -- one tube of Benoquin skin bleaching cream, one box of anti-fungal ointment and three vials of a liquid used for glaucoma patients.
The police search of the 2005 BMW connected to Dr. Murray did not yield much evidence. Police expected to find medical records for Jackson and information on prescription medicines. They did not.
The only items taken from the car were a contract in Dr. Murray's name, a business card and an envelope with miscellaneous writing on it.
Entertainment Tonight convinced the court in Los Angeles to release the two search warrants in the Michael Jackson investigation on Thursday

Well, not meaning 2 change the subject. However it's now official MJ's No. 1s is now 2009's top selling CD in the U.S.

Week Ending Aug. 23, 2009: Over 50 And Still On Top
Posted Wed Aug 26, 2009 12:18pm PDT by Paul Grein in Chart Watch

In a lot of fields, workers over the age of 50 are not in great demand. That's not the case for top recording stars. This is the second week in a row that an artist over 50 has topped The Billboard 200. Reba McEntire, 54, debuts in the top spot with Keep On Loving You. She displaces George Strait, 57, who debuted on top last week with Twang. McEntire is the second oldest woman ever to have a #1 album on this chart. Barbra Streisand was 55 when she achieved the feat in November 1997 with Higher Ground.

McEntire and Strait aren't the only artists over 50 to have topped the chart this year. In February, Bruce Springsteen, 59, debuted at #1 with Working On A Dream. (And of course Michael Jackson, who was 50 when he died, had the best-selling album in the country for six weeks with Number Ones.) Two other artists in their 50s have peaked at #2 this year. R&B star Charlie Wilson, 56, hit the runner-up spot in February with Uncle Charlie. Prince, then 50, scored in April with Lotus Flow3r/MPLSoUND/Elix3r.

This year's charts have even been receptive to artists over the age of (gasp) 60. Robert Plant, then 60, returned to #2 in February with Raising Sand, his Grammy-winning collaboration with Alison Krauss. Bob Dylan, 68, debuted at #1 in May with Together Through Life. Last week, Neil Diamond, also 68, opened at #2 with his latest, Hot August Night/NYC. All of this bodes well for Barbra Streisand, 67. The diva's latest, Love Is The Answer, is due Sept. 29.

What's going on here? Today's fans are staying connected to pop music and their favorite artists far longer than fans used to. Also, "record buyers" of a certain age are among the CD's most loyal customers. They grew up with LPs and enjoy the tactile experience a CD provides (holding it, looking at the artwork, and reading the liner notes). Plus, older fans may be less inclined to illegally download, for two reasons: Cost isn't as much of an issue as with younger fans and they may be more apt to think it's wrong. (I want to thank my over-50 friends for clueing me into the psychology of the older buyer. Otherwise, how would I know?)

This is the third week in a row that a country album has debuted in the top spot. Sugarland's Live On The Inside preceded Twang and Keep On Loving You. This is the second time this year that three country albums have topped the big chart in succession. For three weeks in April, the top spot was held by Keith Urban's Defying Gravity, Rascal Flatts' Unstoppable and the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack.

Keep On Loving You also debuts at #1 on Hot Country Albums. It's McEntire's 11th #1 on this chart, dating back to Whoever's In New England in May 1986. McEntire has had more #1 country albums than any other woman in history. Loretta Lynn is in second place, with 10 chart toppers from 1966 to 1976.

McEntire has amassed 10 million-selling albums since Nielsen/SoundScan began tracking sales for Billboard in May 1991. McEntire has sold 28,692,000 albums in this period. This puts her fifth among all female vocalists, after, in order, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Shania Twain and Britney Spears. But McEntire is a true all-around entertainer. She has also found success starring on Broadway and with a long-running sitcom. (I have one last item on McEntire and Strait at the end of the column.)

Bad News: McEntire's album sold 96,000 copies this week, less than one-third as many as her Reba Duets sold in its first week (301,000) when it bowed at #1 in September 2007. The nature of that album made it more of an "event album," but still... This is the 11th week so far this year that the best-selling album in the U.S. has failed to sell even 100,000 copies. There were 11 weeks in all of 2007 and 2008 combined where the best-selling album failed to reach the 100,000 sales threshold. I'm all for setting new records, but not this kind.

Eight weeks ago, on the last year-to-date chart published before Michael Jackson's death, his 2003 compilation Number Ones was listed at #134, with 2009 sales of 117,000 copies. This week, the album moves into the top spot, with sales so far this year of 1,619,000. It dislodges Taylor Swift's Fearless, which has sold 1,608,000 so far this year.

Number Ones sold 68,000 copies this week and would have held at #2 if catalog albums were eligible to compete on The Billboard 200. The Essential Michael Jackson sold 35,000 and would have slipped from #5 to #9. This is the ninth straight week that Jackson has had two of the 10 best-selling albums in the U.S.

woot! woot!

I totally agree with this statement...

"Also, "record buyers" of a certain age are among the CD's most loyal customers. They grew up with LPs and enjoy the tactile experience a CD provides (holding it, looking at the artwork, and reading the liner notes)"

I love reading the liner notes, and all that. nod

So, the LA Times states no marijuana, heroine or cocaine was found in Jackson's system. TMZ were quick to put post that marijuana and what looked like heroine was at the home, but of course are going to take their sweet time posting that Jackson wasn't doing said drugs, if they bother posting at all.

http://www.latimes.com/ne...4430.story

Family members found marijuana in Jackson's bedroom

The discovery prompted investigators to search the pop star's mansion for heroin-related equipment. But lab tests found no marijuana, cocaine or heroin in Jackson's system.

By Kimi Yoshino and Richard Winton

Rotting marijuana that Michael Jackson's family members mistook for heroin briefly caused detectives to look for further evidence of the illegal drug in the pop star's rented residence during the frenzied 48 hours after his death, according to sources close to the investigation.

Family members told coroner's officials that they found "tar heroin" in the Holmby Hills home's master bedroom. Only Jackson and his children had access to the room, according to court records unsealed Thursday. The discovery prompted authorities to obtain a search warrant for Jackson's house for heroin, hypodermic needles, cutting agents, scales, balloons, condoms, razor blades, buyer lists, and seller lists, among other items, documents show.

But within days, police had ruled out heroin as a factor in the singer's death, sources close to the investigation said. Lab tests showed that the purported heroin was actually moldy marijuana, sources said. And, according to court records, a lengthy police interview with Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, placed another drug, the powerful anesthetic propofol, at the center of the investigation.

Law enforcement sources said that neither marijuana, cocaine nor heroin were found in Jackson's system.

The search warrant records, unsealed at the request of several media organizations, show that police seized 12 bottles of the sedative temazepam, several other prescription drugs and empty medication vials from Jackson's house the day after his June 25 death. As part of the investigation, police searched Murray's car June 29, records show. But according to the search inventory, the only items seized were a business card for an executive handling Jackson's London concerts, a contract and an envelope with miscellaneous writing.

In another warrant made public Thursday, a federal agent wrote that Jackson's longtime friend and physician Dr. Arnold Klein had self-prescribed medication 27 times during a nearly three-year period.

The allegation prompted a federal magistrate to sign off on a search last week of Mickey Fine Pharmacy, which Jackson frequently used.

State records showed that Klein had self-prescribed Vicodin, Valium, the sedative midazolam and modafinil, a drug used to improve wakefulness.

Klein's attorney, Garo B. Ghazarian, said Klein never self-prescribed any medication, but the lawyer declined to explain the drug-tracking records.

MJ should've been a medical THC user to help him sleep instead of all the other crap. He could have used a vaporizer, drank it in a tea or eaten it. Maybe it would've helped his appetite too! nod

Remembering Michael
by Kim Carnes

(Kim Carnes recorded the song "Bette Davis Eyes," which reached No. 1 in 1981, and sang with Michael Jackson on "We Are the World." )

"His music, in particular the Thriller album and on MTV, let the world finally see how gifted he really, truly was as a performer, not just on a record. The dancing, when you saw the whole package, was just brilliant. The way he danced and sang — I've never seen anything like it. He was so incredibly gifted.

I did try to moonwalk. I tried several times. Not recently, but everyone was so intrigued with that motion. As I watched, I would just sit there and say, How is a human being able do that? How is he capable of moving like that? It was mind-boggling.

When we did the "We Are the World" video, I was standing right beside him that entire evening. Most of the time we were singing, but in between, when we had breaks, he was charming and very gracious, and at the same time seemed so vulnerable. I'd never met him before and was very much in awe of his talent. He was very shy — except turn the camera on him and start the music, and suddenly there was this great transformation that blew everybody away. How could this human being in his personal life be so shy, and then be so completely the opposite, being the greatest performer ever? "

"It's almost like he was two people."

Cause of death has been announced

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...ent-music/

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles County coroner's office ruled Michael Jackson's death a homicide when it released its official autopsy report on Friday.

A designation of homicide means that Jackson died at the hands of another, but does not necessarily mean a crime was committed.

The official cause of death was determined to be acute propofol intoxication. Benzodiazepine effect, which was the combination of the sedatives Lorazepam, Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine and Ephedrine found in his body, was listed as a contributing factor.

Jackson's cause of death listed as "acute propofol intoxication"

Michael Jackson died of 'acute propofol intoxication,' coroner says
August 28, 2009 | 11:52 am

The Los Angeles County coroner's office officially ruled the death of Michael Jackson a homicide and said he died of "acute propofol intoxication."

According to a statement from the coroner: The "manner of death has been ruled homicide. Cause of death was established as acute propofol intoxication. Other conditions contributing to death: benzodiazepine. The drugs propofol and Lorazepam were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson’s death. Other drugs detected were midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine, and ephedrine. The final coroner’s report includes a complete toxicology report will that remain on security hold at the request of the Los Angeles police department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office"

Homicide refers to a death at the hand of another person, but does not necessarily translate to criminal charges. In court papers, the Los Angeles Police Department has identified Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician at the time of his death, as the target of a manslaughter investigation.

Sources familiar with the multiagency investigation have stressed that a manslaughter prosecution is not inevitable, given Jackson’s history of drug use, health problems and other challenges in the case.

According to an affidavit unsealed in Houston last week, Murray told police that Jackson spent his last hours pleading for a dose of a powerful anesthetic.

Murray said he resisted -- fearful that the pop star had developed a dangerous addiction to propofol. Instead, Murray administered the sedatives Valium, lorazepam and midazolam -- five times over six hours. But none put Jackson to sleep and he continued to demand his "milk," the word the doctor said the pop star used for propofol.

Murray said he finally relented and at 10:40 a.m. added the drug to Jackson's intravenous drip, according to the records. That dose -- mixed with the cocktail of other sedatives in the pop star's system -- was enough to kill him, the coroner's office concluded in a preliminary toxicology report, according to the court records.

Authorities have sought records from at least five physicians who treated Jackson as well as pharmacies in Las Vegas and Beverly Hills, but Murray is the only doctor named in court documents as the target of the manslaughter investigation.

Jackson had specifically asked concert promoter AEG Live to hire Murray as his $150,000-a-month physician to travel with him to London, where he was scheduled to perform 50 concerts.

That's why John Belushi, Chris Farley, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday and 'em die. They get so high from what they're taking they think it won't be enough to take 'em out but it takes a few jackasses, AKA their dealers, to achieve it.

This is definitely reminding me of how John Belushi died. Epherdine is a speed-like sedative I heard.
