Well the autopsy report hasn't been out yet. They're basically focusing on what Murray gave him that night and it was just hinted that MJ was giving "lethal levels" of propofol that they apparently found in his body.

And the way they treated MJ was like a cocaine or heroin dealer with someone who was struggling to be sober only to fall back into temptation.

yeah People should really focus on this case.....people who say that Mj was mainly a drug addict need to look at the bigger picture, MJ wasn't taking heroin, cocaine like most drug addicts, he wasn’t taking anything like that to satisfy his body, he was suffering from insomnia, all the articles and reports indicate that MJ needed few hours to sleep, it was insomnia , the doctor was recklessly administering propofol and other dangerous powerful drugs to a person who couldn’t sleep…..thats the point, aren’t there ways to treat Michael other than injecting those drugs in his system? As a professional doctor he should used other ways to help Mj , there are other ways or what? I need to know…….

Exactly! he wasn't talking pills to get a HIGH he was trying to find something to help him SLEEP. You know,I wondered if any of these dumbshit doctors ever considered that something serious was going on internally with Michael that made it impossible for him to fall asleep on his own. Alot of people suffer from insomnia, but there has to be a time when as the doctor you stop handing over meds, and think "I wonder if something is going on that I just can't see". Murray should have quit with his parade of pills, and injections, and taken him to a hospital to be thoroughly examined,to see why the hell after giving him more than enough sleeping aides,he remained awake.

Wow...I've been keeping up with this entire thread and I have to say as a MJ fan I'm intrigued that a lot of MJ heads still haven't come to terms about his problems with drugs...

The fact that some folks are actually saying he wasn't like most drug addicts because he didn't use heroin or coke (America's current drug epidemic is now being fueled by the pharmaceutical industry not the traditional drugs that you usually hear about...) is missing the point....Like most folks in MJ's position he started taking drugs for very understandable reasons...His insomnia, plastic surgeries, and various physical ailments were real problems...Unfortunately, like most folks, he became addicted to the medicine he was taking....It happens folks...MJ wasn't juggling doctors just because he couldn't get sleep...

So yes, the musical giant that I had on my wall as a kid did indeed become a drug addict...That doesn't take anything away from MJ's great musical legacy guys...If that's the case I wouldn't be a fan of the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, or Miles Davis (he had a bout with drug addiction that he finally beat by the '80s)...

Let's stay in the land of reality, guys...The tragedy of MJ's death should be a cautionary reminder of the true price of fame...

God bless the man...

It's pretty simple really, imagine all the worry. Worry will kill you and I think it killed Mike. Many people have said they were surprised he lasted this long. I know for a fact that Michael was very conscious of the dangers of drugs, like Elvis, he was a clean guy in his early days. Unlike Elvis, he had even greater attention focussed on him and intense, intense vilification, hatred and slander. I've never thought Mike was a mentally tough person and I believe it all fueled the need for escape. I recall his first bout with pills around the first molestation trial. He say's probably truthfully that he became addicted after taking some for pain. If you've ever taken morphine or really been high (I never touch anything but I've been injured and taken morphine and understand how it could be addictive) you can see how much it'll ease your mind. Dangerous stuff. I believe most genius' are tortured souls as a prerequisite, you take all the idiosyncratic things that happens to a black genius who has unseen stardom and excruciating pressure and it just doesn't bode well. Hard to imagine in the eighties where his triumphs led, if you were there you know that's the most heartbreaking thing of all. I used to think Marvin Gaye was the most pained, tortured soul but reading of Michaels problems just sickens me, in many ways he was very much like John Merrick, hated, hounded, hunted to death.

Two Former Jackson Employees Want To Tell Police What They Know About His Death

August 26

Two Michael Jackson employees -- including one who was with the pop star when he was stricken -- have important information about the case and should be extensively interviewed by Los Angeles Police Department detectives, their attorney said Tuesday.

Carl Douglas, perhaps best known for being a member of O.J. Simpson's defense team, said that LAPD detectives have done only "informal" interviews with his clients and that they were eager to provide more information. One of the interviews lasted about two minutes and the other filled a one-page transcript, Douglas said.

Some of their information could shed new light on the timeline police have established covering Jackson's final hours and the actions of his doctor, Douglas said.

"We arranged two separate occasions for LAPD investigators to meet with my clients. My clients came early wearing suits and ties. The first meeting was canceled and rescheduled. The second meeting I had to call them to inquire about the [detectives'] absence," he added.

LAPD Deputy Chief Charlie Beck refused to respond to Douglas' charges, saying that the department would not comment on any aspects of an ongoing investigation.

Michael Amir, Jackson's chief of staff, and Alberto Alvarez, a security staffer, were briefly interviewed June 25, one at Jackson's rented Holmby Hills home and the other at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Douglas said Alvarez was with Jackson and Dr. Conrad Murray in the pop star's bedroom in the critical moments before paramedics arrived. He could provide useful information that would confirm or contradict Murray's version of events and provide independent insight into what transpired, the attorney said. Douglas, however, refused to say what the men might tell police.

In search warrant documents released Monday, police said Murray told them he gave Jackson the powerful anesthetic propofol at 10:40 a.m., watched him for 10 minutes and went to the restroom for two minutes. When he returned about 11 a.m., Jackson had stopped breathing. Police said three phone calls totaling 47 minutes were made from Murray's phone, beginning at 11:18 a.m. -- all before 911 was called at 12:22 p.m.

Murray's attorney has criticized the timeline as "theory, not fact."

Douglas, who in 1993 served as a Jackson attorney, said Amir received a frantic four-second message from Murray at 12:13 p.m. with words to the effect of "come quick."

'Thriller' Co-star Becomes Jackson Creditor

August 26, 2009

Court records show Michael Jackson's love interest in the "Thriller" video, Ola Ray, is now a creditor to the King of Pop's estate.

Ray's attorney filed paperwork in Los Angeles last week stating she is a creditor to the singer's estate and is owed an undetermined amount of money.

The actress sued Jackson in April, claiming he had failed to pay her royalties that she was due from the "Thriller" video for the past four years.

That suit, and two others filed by "Thriller" director John Landis, remain unresolved. One of Landis' lawsuits claimed he also hadn't been paid royalties on the "Thriller" video for several years.

Time gap in Jackson death could prove key to case

By THOMAS WATKINS (AP) – 5 hours ago

LOS ANGELES — A key point of contention has emerged in the case investigators are piecing together about the death of Michael Jackson: Exactly when did Dr. Conrad Murray realize that his patient had stopped breathing?

There are currently two accounts of that moment on June 25, and about an hour separates them.

According to police documents, Murray told detectives he put Jackson to sleep with drugs just minutes before he found the singer not breathing around 11 a.m., then let nearly 90 minutes go by — much of that time on his cell phone — before an ambulance was called.

But Murray's lawyer says the doctor didn't discover a stricken Jackson until around noon.

Investigators have ruled Jackson's death a homicide, based on tests showing he was killed by the combination of the anesthetic propofol with at least two sedatives, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the finding has not been publicly released.

The homicide designation does not necessarily mean a crime was committed, though it's a helpful starting point should prosecutors choose to seek criminal charges. Police have said Murray is the target of an investigation into manslaughter, defined as a homicide without malice or premeditation.

Murray told police he spent the morning of June 25 administering various sedatives to Jackson in an attempt to get him to sleep, according to an affidavit for a search warrant served last month on Murray's clinic in Houston. Unsuccessful in inducing rest, the doctor ultimately gave in to the singer's demands for a dose of propofol around 10:40 a.m.

By 11 a.m., after a short trip to the bathroom, Murray said he saw Jackson was not breathing and began trying to revive him, both with a "rescue" drug and by performing CPR, according to the documents. An ambulance was not called until 12:21 p.m. and Murray spent much of the intervening time making non-emergency cell phone calls, police say.

That timeline is flawed, said Murray's attorney, Edward Chernoff, who was present when investigators spent three hours interviewing the doctor June 27. Chernoff said Murray never told police he found Jackson not breathing at 11 a.m. — instead, it was more like noon.

"Their theory is he came back and wasn't breathing. That's not what Dr. Murray told them," Chernoff said Tuesday. "They are confusing the time Michael Jackson went to sleep with the time he stopped breathing."

Chernoff did not provide additional detail about what Murray had told police.

Home use of propofol is virtually unheard of — safe administration requires lifesaving equipment and a trained anesthesiologist monitoring the patient at all times. While the 25 mg dose Murray said he gave Jackson was relatively small, its combination with the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam proved deadly.

Even if Murray found Jackson around noon, he still waited too long to call an ambulance, said one medical expert, adding that anyone — including doctors — should make calling an ambulance their first priority.

"In a situation like that, time is life," said Dr. Douglas Zipes, an Indiana University heart specialist and past president of the American College of Cardiology. "It's got to be immediate or you are going to lose the individual."

Phone records show Murray spent 47 minutes between 11:18 and 12:05 making three personal calls. One of the calls was to one of Murray's offices, Chernoff said, adding that the doctor never told investigators about the calls because he wasn't asked about them.

At 12:13 p.m., Murray made a four-second call to Jackson's personal assistant, Michael Amir Williams, pleading for help, Williams' attorney Carl Douglas said. Within two minutes, Williams called Alberto Alvarez, Jackson's bodyguard, with a similar plea.

Douglas, who also represents Alvarez, said the bodyguard hurried to the top floor of Jackson's rented mansion, a private sanctum where staff were not normally allowed, and assisted a confused-looking Murray as he frantically tried to revive Jackson. It was Alvarez that placed the 911 call at 12:21 p.m.

Douglas said Alvarez might be able to shed some light on Murray's actions but, two months after the death, police investigators had still not formally interviewed his client and had only spoken fleetingly with him at the hospital immediately after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Douglas said he was "dismayed at the seeming haphazard manner investigators have gone about obtaining information."

Deputy Police Chief Charlie Beck declined to comment, citing the continuing investigation.

Chernoff did not provide additional detail about what Murray had told police. Early on in the case, the lawyer released a statement saying his client didn't give any drugs that "should have" killed Jackson. Asked to elaborate on the statement, Chernoff said: "I stand by that assertion and I believe that will be borne out in time."
