i feel so bad for katherine cause i remember her saying losing a child was so hard and burying her child(marlon's twin) was the hardest thing she had to do and she didn't want to do it again...but now she has to :bawlin:

o paris, she broke my heart. usher walking up to the casket and breaking down killed me and jermaine singing to his brother sad this was all so sad

my hearts till feels heavy now

Jermaine tore it up....he gave it all for his baby bro! Usher walking up to the casket was like church up in there. So genuine and heart felt.

I didn't cry, but I KNEW I couldn't handle Katherine going up on stage knowing about Brandon. Looking at her was hard in the front row but heartening watching the kids leaning on her like I used to do w/ my great-grandma.

those were michael's dancers.

they should have had their own little segment or accompanied a more upbeat performance or...SOMEthing. the "ring around the j.hud" dance was the worst part. i'm sure they're brilliant dancers, it was just weird and hokey to me. shrug

they ususally do it to mj.
it looks more fitting in his performance though.
the fact that shes pregnant didnt really help,i guess.
shrug
it was still an awesome performace.
made me cry. sad
...then he turned to me and said "I dare you".

Thank u! If some of you are so eager to speak negatively about the Jackson's, take it somewhere else or start your own thread. Can't some of you act like decent people for once? Just give them a break at least for one day, damn. Enough already.

The negativity will be back in full force when the toxology reports come back anyway, so it's not gonna last long. Then you haters can fully get back to making fun of MJ without fans like me nagging and complaining all the time, but for one day, can you just stop? Is it really that hard?

yeah, j.hud was fantastic.

i actually thought everyone was great, and i'm not a big fan of most of the people who performed. it was amazing to see mariah actually singing with feelings - i didn't even care that her voice was cracking, it just made her performance all the more real to me. even stevie and lionel had a gravity and a realness to their performances that i'd never seen from them in all the years of awards show and televised concert performances. there was a different quality to everyone today, and it was very touching and intense to me.

and the beginning when there was the long awkward pause when nobody knew what was going on...how could a stadium full of THAT MANY PEOPLE be so silent for so long? it was pretty amazing to me.

It was a beautiful service indeed! So well done and very tasteful. Much better than I was expecting actually.

This was so respectful and tastefully done. I cried, smiled then cried some more. People were going on about A-listed celebrities, like who I say? Everyone from Stevie Wonder to the little boy from England did the Jackson family proud.

yep but im still mad at the stupid white boy who made that nasty comment from the top bleachers.

How could you tell he was white? Did you see him? I did'nt personally hear this, but unless you actually saw the person,I don't think you should be so quick to assume he was white.

ANY news on how many watched it? Really half a billion?

Didn't you US people had to work? In Germany it was 7-9 pm

I'm sure some folks were watching it in the office on tvs because it aired on all the commercial networks. Some watched it streamed online, I'm sure. People at work always seem to find a way to catch something like this or just chat on sites like this one! smile

Much of this was like an old time good old funeral at a church. I was surprised at how much it was like they just continued the funeral at the memorial, but I loved it and thought it was a wonderful thing for the world to see. There's alot of joy and sorrow openly mixed at Black funerals (as well as great hats smile ), but emotions are #1.

So proud of Paris. Beautiful child.
And I know we don't know who the mother of Blanket is, but I couldn't help to think of his mother, somewhere in the world, watching him. Feeling not only his pain, but the pain of not being able to approach the child as a mother. Pit o the gut.

I'm relieved that the service went well and was done with dignity. I was fearing the worst. I was kind of surprised to see the coffin there but I think it could have been a decoy. Mike may have been laid to rest early this morning when everyone else was at Staples.

Marlon, Jemaine and Paris had me shedding tears and the montage of old family photos was very moving. At one point they showed a photo of young Katherine, who was even more beautiful than her lovely daughters.

I hope Marlon's wish comes true and I hope that Mike's precious kids will continue getting the care and nurturing they need to thrive. It would be good for them to remember what Rev. Al told them today.

why do you keep repeating this? i watched the service and didn't hear
that. i'm sure their would have been a lot of outrage amongst people
in attendance if such a thing had been yelled.

furthermore, what makes you say it was a stupid white boy? confused are
they showing clips of it on cnn? i'm not watching anymore so they may
be but i'm thinking they probably aren't.

Becuase it was disrespectful. i heard it....i wasn't imagining things and a lot of others heard it as well in that room. It was a white guy who said that by the voice....anyway, they are the ones who say that mess all the time anyway. I'm pretty sure he was removed from the bleachers.

I was puzzled by MSNBC having to explain what a repast is...I thought it was common in the US? They called it an African American tradition.

Don't white people have a repast after funerals?
