I don't get the continuous nonsense about the finances - first it was 300 million, then 400 million, then finally "perhaps as much as 500 million!". I just love it when people are making up abstract sums in their heads, cause you know, there's not much of a difference between 300 and 500 million, right? So you can just keep on adding a hundred million or two the reported figure without it sounding at all like an exaggerated claim, ain't that correct? Jackson had property that wasn't apparently limited to just Neverland, he had his vast song catalogs - and who knows what else he owned - therefore he would have been able to pay it off. It's not like he would have been required to pay back hundreds of millions of dollars next week. Rich people who make investments are pretty much all the time in "debt" to someone. That's how it works these days.

Thanks. clapping

That's not entirely true.

A city administrator told the press that the extra police deployment would be paid for from a Los Angeles Police Department fund reserved for overtime costs of special events such as "1st Amendment marches, protests and funerals and other events large in scope and that have a potential to impact public safety."

Jackson Memorial Service To Be Shown In as Many as 80 Theaters
07/06/09

Michael Jackson's memorial service tomorrow will be shown live in as many as 80 movie theaters, giving fans outside of Los Angeles a chance to watch a cinema- quality high-definition broadcast.

Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp., the company that is upgrading many U.S. theaters to digital, reached an agreement last night with the Jackson family and Los Angeles-based Anschutz Entertainment Group to offer the telecast to theater chains, Chief Executive Dale Mayo said.

A limited number of free tickets will be made available.

"You'll see it just as though you're there," Mayo said.

The telecast will give fans in as many as 31 U.S. states a place to congregate and watch the service. AEG, owner of Staples Center where the memorial will be held, is also offering a live television feed to broadcasters. Cinedigm plans to carry the program live without commentary or interruptions, Mayo said.

The Morristown, New Jersey-based company is in discussions with theater chains equipped to receive its transmissions, Mayo said. Potentially, the service could be shown on about 100 screens, Mayo said.

Closely held AEG is a unit of billionaire Philip Anschutz's Denver-based Anschutz Co.

This is one of the montages that got scrapped from the BET Awards

it was meant to air, but due to Don Corneilius talking too long, they didn't air it

My Mother watches this show, and she has told me that Whoopi defended and complimented MJ a few other times during "Hot Topics." Whoopi even wore a Michael Jackson pin during one episode back in April, that was made like a puppet and dances when a string is pulled, or something like that, lol.
