Why?

Michael/Prince/Madonna = The 80's Triad!

Most of the current artists today would NOT even have a career right now if it weren't for these 3 icons (especially Michael).

Those are the ones I mostly think about,,,,they're in for a BIG act of madness, I hope they pull it through.

I hope his family pull it through too, esp his mother.

Yeah that's pushing it. They weren't doing that when James or people like that died. Why would they do it for Michael?

Although I wouldn't expect a press conference, the three are separated in age by months and in Madonna's case just days from MJ. Plus, they all peaked professionally around the same time. sigh

the worst part is that not only do they lose their father, but from now on
the media will focus relentlessly on 'the mj kids'.

i hope michael's family is going to take them in and keep them away from,
as you said, the big madness that will no doubt ensue

You can't really say things like "poor Mike". He has lived a full and blessed life. God just decided to call him home.

they will probably issue statements, but i expect only the Jackson family to have a press conference.

I think the reason that I'm shedding tears right now (besides the fact that he was my favorite music artist tied with Prince) is because of his children...he loved the hell out of those kids; what the hell are they going to do?
Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

I keep hoping this is all some bad dream, still can't believe it. The guy I grew up loving so much and idolizing is dead. Michael and his music have touched my life so much and his music has touched many others as well I know. This is a huge loss for the music world. I just can't believe he's gone.

It really does. In fact the way it's reported is MUCH LIKE the way Elvis' death was first reported. Ironically when they found Elvis, he had undergone cardiac arrest and people had to keep the media from reporting it because reporting about Elvis was like reporting Big Foot, he, like MJ, had become an enigma so reporting about him was headline news.

So when his death was first announced, some people said he was in a coma, then they said he had chest pains. Finally that afternoon, they confirmed the news that Elvis had left the world at 42.

And now I'm seeing the same reporting on Michael's demise.
