I want to hear what Prince has to say...

I'm sure he won't be saying anything. He doesn't make public statements when people die.

My memory of Michael

As much as I have tried to fight the urge to write this, I just cannot help myself. Like many of us here, I idolized him for many reasons. As a disabled kid, I might have looked to him a little bit more than most. See, I had always wanted to be a dancer, and singer (ironic because I could not even walk a straight line without falling or sing a good note, without my brothers telling me to shut up). I remember, watching him as a little boy. I would hold on to the sofa arms for balance and dance along until I was exhausted. My mom and dad would just smile and continue to encourage me. I asked them recently, why they would let me do that, and they both said, that they did not want to step on my dream...thanks guys. I had always wanted to see him live, but was either too young or did not have the money to pay for the ticket. My chance came 8 1/2 years ago on September 7th 2001. Michael was going to be at Madison Square Garden, here in New York to celebrate his 30 years in the music business.

I purchased my ticket as soon as they went on sale. I was lucky enough to get seats, at the 200 level, (anybody who knows MSG, those are seats that are way up, but, I really didn't care). I then called up my friend, Anthony, who had gotten tickets for him and his wife. Now, when we got to the Garden, we had the pleasure of meeting celebrities, Geoffrey Holder, who was an actor from Trinidad and who not only appeared in "Boomerange",( he played the director of the Stronge, commercial, but as would find out later, attended school in Trinidad, with both my mom and dad) Natalie Cole, Usher, etc. As much as I loved the other performers, who were there that night,(Usher, Destiny's Child, etc) I was there to see Michael. The minute he hit that stage, I thought that I would lose my mind. It is one thing to see him on TV, but it is something TOTALLY different, seeing him live. It was NUTS!!! He performed with his brother's, Britney and 'Nycnc. People were screaming, crying, and being carried out!! Even though Anthony and I had 200 level seats, we had the JUMBO tron TV screens, so we saw EVERYTHING!! Then the moment of truth came, time for his solo performance. The highlight of this was "Billie Jean". Now, we have all seen him moonwalk on TV, but, you AINT see NOTHING until you see him do it live!! When he slid across that stage, I went APESHIT!! I was a 8 year old kid all over again. At one point, I think I screamed out loud at one point...lol That night along with the night I saw Prince in 2003, will go down as the two greatest moments in my lifetime. I have been blessed to see two of music's biggest icons; wow, I am so blessed!!

Thanks Michael. You will be missed!!

I would hope Mj fans could provide some interesting insights as to why they have these overblown reactions. There have certainly been some so far..

This is a thread filled with fans who are not interested in discussing your social experiment. You are doing nothing but antagonizing them pointlessly. This should be obvious.

However cynical are certain messages,... they could pass unnoticed if nobody was there to bring them to light constantly.

I believe that it is neither the day for this kind of sterile speeches that interests only their authors...

One more time... R.I.P Michael... your inspiration will never die...
