good so maybe this will be the end of the bullshit they have both been putting out and maybe we can get some variety, no offense but there are more than 1 male and 1 female rb singer out there.

from YBF:

UPDATE: (10:21P EST): We're told Chris has been getting prepped by his lawyers for the last few hours. And he has just turned himself in to LAPD.

UPDATE (9:11p EST): Ok, here's the low down we got from an extremely credible PR source on the ground at the Grammys. Said source tells TheYBF.com that the "car accident" story is false and is being used to throw everyone off. Rihanna is DEFINITELY the victim of domestic violence and is now pressing charges against her boyfriend Chris Brown as we speak. Early this morning while leaving Clive Davis' party, the two got into a physical altercation in their limo and he punched Rihanna in the face. We're told that's when he/the limo dropped her at Hancock Park in L.A., and she ran and called 911. He left the scene and hasn't been found since. We're told Chris has until midnight tonight to turn himself in to LAPD. Otherwise, he will be arrested as soon as he's spotted by an LAPD officer. We're told Rihanna is definitely in the hospital recovering as we speak.

THis has moved way beyond dissatisfaction with the current state of music. We are talking about a very serious situation and I for one, am more concerned with Rihanna and her getting the help she needs and Chris being prosecuted. I like to think my priorities are in the right place.

UPDATE: Chris Brown Turns Self In After Alleged Rihanna Assault

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Rihanna and Chris Brown have pulled out of the Grammy Awards following an alleged violent incident on Saturday night, Access Hollywood has learned.

The LAPD is currently investigating Brown for assault following an alleged domestic violence felony battery against an undisclosed woman at 12:30 AM on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Update, 7:15 PM: Brown has turned himself in, TMZ reported. According to the LA Times, the alleged assault was against Rihanna . The LAPD could not confirm either report.

According to the LAPD, the R&B singer and the woman were in a vehicle on North June St. in the Hancock Park area of LA, where the victim claims an argument occurred. Brown allegedly stopped the car and the woman suffered "visible injuries" and identified the singer as her attacker.

When contacted by Access on Sunday night, a rep for Rihanna said that the singer was "well."

" Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support," the rep said.

LA Times story:

http://latimesblogs.latim...chris.html

Los Angeles police said they plan to detain R&B singer Chris Brown for questioning in connection with an alleged domestic violence assault against his girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

Both stars canceled their performances at tonight's Grammy Awards. The alleged incident is being investigated as a felony domestic violence case. It was reported about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Hancock Park.

Brown and Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, were apparently in a car together and got into an argument on North June Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement. Brown stopped the car, the two got out, and the argument escalated, according to police.

A witness called 911, but Brown was gone when officers arrived at the scene. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker, according to police.

Brown and Rihanna had appeared together Saturday night at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy gala in Beverly Hills.

Shortly before the Grammy show began at 5 p.m. at Staples Center, Grammy officials issued a statement saying, "We have just been informed Rihanna will not be attending tonight’s 51st Grammy Awards. Rihanna will not be performing. We are sorry to see she is unable to join us this evening.”

A publicist for the Barbados-born star, who sold more digital song downloads than any other in 2008 with nearly 10 million tracks, said Sunday night, “Rihanna is well. Thank you for your concern and support.”

Her song “Disturbia,” which she’d been scheduled to perform at the ceremony, was the sixth best-selling digital track of the year. She was replaced by veteran soul singer Al Green, who was accompanied by country singer-guitarist Keith Urban.

Brown’s record label spokesman did not respond to The Times’ request for comment. His whereabouts were unknown as the Grammy show began. Brown finished 2008 as the fourth-best-selling artist in the digital realm, posting 6.8 million tracks sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Well of course but im not going to buy into TMZ as a news source as yet, they have more lawsuits against them, then Beyonce for stealing tracks. The whole story seems really fishy to me, one minute there at a party, then theres an auto accident rumoured then charges filed. Hey if he's guilty throw him in jail and toss the key away and let him fucking rot for hitting a woman, i got no issue with a dude doing time for his crimes.

The story is true. I don't know how many sources you need. The LA Times is reporting it and also saying it was Rihanna. The story changes as do all fast breaking stories-doesn't mean they are not true. I used to work in journalism. Now if it was media takeout, that is a different thing, but TMZ has access to police reports

Los Angeles Times: R&B singer Chris Brown arrives at Wilshire Division police station

Los Angeles police said they plan to detain R&B singer Chris Brown for questioning in connection with an alleged domestic violence assault against his girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

[Updated 8 p.m.] Brown arrived at the Wilshire Division station about 7:15 p.m., accompanied by his attorney Mark Geragos and Geragos' investigator Scott Ross. The pair drove into a parking lot behind the station on Venice Boulevard, east of La Brea Avenue, in a black Escalade. Brown and the man entered through a back door where a posted sign stated for “authorized personnel only.” Police are expected to release a statement later this evening

Brown and Rihanna canceled their performances at tonight's Grammy Awards.

The incident is being investigated as a felony domestic violence case, police said. It was reported about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Hancock Park.

I don't think it matters why they got in a fight. All that matters is he hit her.

All im saying is that the La Times or Ny times or even CNN is one thing, TMZ is not a news source, ever since the whole Alec Baldwin fiasco, where they took a second of a father "yelling" at his kid branded him a child beater, they illegally got tapes from his answering machine for that story, that is not journalism, that is a crime itself. And also the fact that they ran with the John Travolta story, reporting his sons death before FAMILY and relatives where told!! Sorry but that is going to far, and anyone that advocates that kind of reporting has issues.

Now for this case, like i said, lock him and let him fucking rot in jail.

For the record though "sources" are not really "sources" they all go off the same person, so if ONE gets something wrong then the whole freaking world gets it wrong, not saying thats the case here, but it has happend countless times and the problem is that these news sources are not liable.

I believe that the woman in question is, of course, Rihanna.
What pisses me off are some of the comments that people on other sites are making about her; they think she's lying or was "too clingy" and a bunch of other ignorant shit. What the hell would she gain from lying to the police? And if she wasn't in a car accident, and I highly suspect that she wasn't due to lack of police report or pap pictures (hell, they were all over Lindsay Lohan when she got that DUI! They probably got there before the cops did!), then how did she get the injuries?
And if it comes to light that Chris did break her jaw, are his fans still gonna be so quick to defend their heartthrob singer then?

2. The next post after yours shows a car that isn't a limo. lol

3. The story doesn't make sense if it's a limo, surely the limo driver would've either intervened or not left her by herself once she got out of the car?

That's the car that took him to the police station and doesn't mean that's the vehicle he was in when the shit went down.
