Rihanna/Chris Brown -- No Weapon

Posted Feb 9th 2009 1:08PM by TMZ Staff

Law enforcement sources tell us even though the police report in the Chris Brown arrest refers to assault with a deadly weapon, there was no weapon involved in the alleged attack.

The police report cites Penal Code Section 245 -- Assault with a Deadly Weapon. However, we're told there was no weapon involved.

We had been hearing there was an umbrella in the car -- which would have been the most ironic thing ever
-- but again... no weapon is alleged. By the way, a persons foot or other body part can be considered a deadly weapon depending on the circumstances.

One law enforcement source who has been dead on so far claims Rihanna suffered contusions and bite marks.

Story developing...

I think people should just wait to hear it from Rihanna or Chris when things calm down. I think it is sad that this story will both play negatively on both their careers. Both need to take a break from the public for a while.

Rihanna Allegedly Assaulted With Deadly Weapon

Linda Hobbs

Source tells VIBE Rihanna was admitted to undisclosed hospital

Singer Rihanna was allegedly assaulted with a deadly weapon, law enforcement says.

What type of weapon that was, has not been revealed, TMZ reports. Chris Brown, who turned himself into authorities Sunday night, was booked for making criminal threats, which is reportedly punishable by up to nine years in prison, while domestic abuse carries four years.

A VIBE source, who attended the Grammy awards Sunday night— where Brown and Rihanna were scheduled to make an appearance but never showed up— says they saw Rihanna that Thursday night at the Conga Room for a Black Eyed Peas Grammy fundraising show.

“She came backstage before Janelle [Monae] went on. She shook Janelle’s hand,” the entertainer, who asked to remain anonymous, said.

“Then last night, like everybody else, I saw CNN and I saw all this stuff going on. It was a trip.”

The source says another artist came up to them Sunday night. “She was saying, ‘It’s messed up, because Rihanna’s in the hospital.’ I don’t know if she meant [Rihanna] had to go to the emergency, but… at the same time somebody was trying to say it was a car accident and not a domestic violence situation…[But Chris Brown’s] career is, like, over,” the source says. “It’s definitely a hot grits moment for him.’

No official statement from Brown’s camp has been released.

Chris Brown Arrest: Exclusive Jail Details

One day after Chris Brown's bombshell arrest on felony battery charges possibly involving his girlfriend Rihanna, RadarOnline.com reveals exclusive new details on Brown's demeanor inside the jail moments after he was taken into custody.

The source tells RadarOnline.com:

"Chris was with two detectives the whole time he was in custody. He was never with any other inmates. He looked fine when he spoke with detectives. However, when the detectives left him alone, he looked at the ground and closed his eyes. You could tell he was a little sad."

According to a police statement, the 19 year old R&B star and an unidentified woman were in a vehicle around 12:30am on Sunday on North June street in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles when, according to the victim, they became involved in an argument. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker. The LAPD received a 911 call reporting the disturbance. When officers arrived they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene. Police tell RadarOnline.com that the victim had visible injuries, making the charge felony battery. Brown surrendered to authorities at 7:15pm Sunday night and was later released on $50,000 bail. Police say additional charges may be filed against him when the case is presented to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

The big question remains: Who is the woman? The L.A. times is reporting that the woman was in fact fellow R&B star Rihanna. The whereabouts of the 20-year old Barbados-born singer remain a mystery. A publicist for Rihanna would only release this statement: "Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support."

Brown and Rihanna had been together Saturday night in Beverly Hills at the pre-Grammy gala hosted by the Grammy-sponsoring Recording Academy and veteran music executive Clive Davis.

Both Brown and Rihanna both ended up canceling their performances at Sunday night's Grammys.

Brown is scheduled to appear in court on March 5th.

Eyewitness At Hospital: "I Could Hear Rihanna Screaming"

A source inside Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline.com that pop star Rihanna was in fact treated there for injuries, allegedly inflicted by her boyfriend R&B singer Chris Brown. Since Brown's bombshell arrest on Sunday, there has been widespread speculation that the victim was 20-year old Rihanna. Now, RadarOnline.com can confirm it's true from an eyewitness who saw her inside the hospital.

The eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com: "It was some time after 12PM PST [Sunday] and I had been waiting in the ER department corridor when Rihanna was brought through the back entrance on a gurney, flanked by two LAPD officers. It was impossible to know it was her at first because when they wheeled her past me, she had the hood on her fuchsia-colored sweatshirt tightly drawn round her face and she was wearing big brown sunglasses. They took her into room 14 which was opposite me. It had a six-foot glass door but the nurses drew a privacy curtain around it."

"I knew the person was famous because of all the attention she was being given by security and medical staff. However, they didn't draw the curtain all the time and I was finally able to make out that the woman they had brought in was Rihanna. She was lying in bed. While the two police officers waited outside, Rihanna was seen by the doctor. When he left, a plain clothes officer in a mismatched suit went in.
I figured he was a detective because I saw the handcuffs in his belt. He stayed in there for about an hour."

"When he left, Rihanna's two female assistants went in to see her and a private security guard stood outside. The police officers were given room 10 to use which was close to Rihanna's.

"Rihanna was clearly very upset by what had happened and I could hear her screaming. Rihanna was trying to get her point across about something, she sounded like she was crying as she tried to get to put her point across."

"Her staff was also very shaken by what had happened. Later on I saw one of the assistants crying into the shoulder of the security guard. I left at 4pm, happy to get out of the place, something terrible had clearly happened to Rihanna."

Brown was booked Sunday night on a charge of making criminal threats and was later released on $50,000 bail. Police say he remains under investigation for felony charges of domestic assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 5th.

A publicist for Rihanna would only issue this statement: "Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support."

February 09, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com just got some BREAKING NEWS. According to a person close to Rihanna, the R&B singer will not file criminal charges against R&B singer Chris Brown for assault and battery.

Last night, Chris Brown was arrested and released on $50,000 bail in connection with an alleged assault against R&B singer Rihanna Fenty. As MediaTakeOut.com reported to you yesterday, Chris and Rihanna got into a scuffle while leaving Saturday night’s Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party.

A person close to the situation told MediaTakeOut.com that the scuffle was caused by the couple’s recent break up. As MediaTakeOut.com reported to you weeks ago, the couple had been ratcheting down on their high-profile love affair. Numerous sources confirmed to MediaTakeOut.com that Chris wanted to END the relationship - but Rihanna didn’t.

We should be clear. It's not clear what occurred during the scuffle - or who did what to whom.

But things have changed since Saturday night. Now MediaTakeOut.com can EXCLUSIVELY report that Rihanna does NOT want Chris Brown to be criminally punished for the alleged assault. Chris Brown Could Do Nine Years in Prison

Posted Feb 9th 2009 11:00AM by TMZ Staff

So why, you ask, was Chris Brown booked for making criminal threats rather than domestic abuse, given the victim -- we're told Rihanna -- had "visible injuries"?

Law enforcement sources tell us they typically book a suspect for the most serious crime they can be charged with -- it's then up to the D.A. to file any additional charges.

Given there were allegedly visible injuries, the crime of making criminal threats is punishable by up to nine years in prison. Domestic abuse is four years.

Fox News is reporting that his Doublemint Gum job has been "suspensed."

Goodbye Chris Brown's Career.

As for Rihanna - I really like some of her songs, and if she ends up
helping out with getting this punk some jail time - I might just
buy her albums. I never liked Chris Brown as far as music was concerned.
Now I'm thinking I probably won't like him as much as a person either.

Will this fool still have fans? or is he over and done?

Anyway... I'm saying an abusive environment has been established. That's what's key here. But to pin the allegations on a particular individual, it's probably a good policy to see something concrete. Those are serious charges.

so you really thought he would come straight out and say "my father beat my mother" when his father is still in his life? I also get the feeling as though Chris's father was not the only man that hit on his mother but he had some sort of respect for his father at one time.

Anyway,I wonder how many other celebs are getting beat on?
...then he turned to me and said "I dare you".

People are publicizing this shit like the rapture just happened or something. It is INDEED a horrible incident that went down. Chris Brown committed to horrible acts of domestic violence on what looks to be a helpless woman. I mean, really. Some people, bro! http://www.mediatakeout.c...ators.html

According to an EXTREMELY reliable insider, Rihanna is NO LONGER assisting investigators in their criminal case against Chris Brown.

Unfortunately for Chris, that’s probably not going to make the charges go away. Police claim that, on the scene of the incident, Rihanna identified Chris Brown as the man who assaulted her. Additionally, police have physical evidence. MediaTakeOut.com can OFFICIALLY CONFIRM that Rihanna’s face and arm were severely bruised in the incident and Chris suffered from minor bruising as well.

There is some evidence in Chris’ favor, however. For example, according to a MediaTakeOut.com reader on the scene, Rihanna did NOT call the police alleging that Chris assaulted her. It was a bystander that called 9-1-1. Shortly afterwards, the police arrived on scene and interviewed Rihanna.

We’ll continue bringing you periodic updates into exactly what’s going on in this story. Trust when we tell you that NO OTHER NEWS SOURCE in the world has more access to the people around Chris and Rihanna than MediaTakeOut.com does.

Also just to clear things up, there are a few FAKE rumors out there that we need to clear up:

First, the woman who was allegedly assaulted WAS RIHANNA not some “friend”. Many news organizations are reluctant to release the name of a domestic violence victim. MediaTakeOut.com, however, believes that there is a pressing public interest to know all that happened.

Second, there was no car accident. Chris and Rihanna’s PR team made up the whole “accident” story to hide what truly happened in the car that night

Third, Chris did not punch Rihanna in her face because she gave him herpes. This rumor is floating around the net and it’s A LIE. Chris saw the cold sore just like the rest of us weeks ago – and it didn’t stop him from messing with her. This story is nothing to joke about. Domestic violence is a serious subject, and Chris Brown is facing serious charges – we shouldn’t make up fake ish about this situation

IT DOES NOT MATTER IN DV CASES IF THE 'VICTIM' PRESSES CHARGES, THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WILL PROSECUTE THAT ASS WHEN THERE IS DV (domestic violence).

Especially if there is a hospital report involved.
