I just saw them talking to a neigbor of the victims, and he said that the stepfather said "if you keep messing with me, im going to kidnap the child". Ok so now you have someone that has confessed to "attempted murder" had other felony convictions and now threatened to kidnap a child and no one even alerted Police to this.

I know right. But if they have the stepfather in custody, then where is the child??? neutral

Im going to hope that the kid heard or saw what was happening and ran ran ran, im really hoping that was the case. But im having a bad feeling that, the stepfather had help and someone has the kid and no one is going to talk.

Its just disturbing that no one ever alerted police to things that were being said by the stepfather. I know you cant do anythhing to someone who says they will do something, but this isnt a guy who one day just off the top of his head said something totally unexpected, this is someone which a history of convictions confessions etc...shit even looking at his myspace site i cant tell he has issues that go deep. Now he may be totally innocent, but my gut tells me he is involved some way

WTF

So this was something personal, right? Im not trying to bring any negativity to this, but what type of neighborhood was this? I'm suprised Jennifer didnt move her family to some upscale area...not that this couldn't happen anywhere, im just saying...

My hearts and prayers go out to JH....

My thoughts and prayers go out to The Hudson Family. I can't understand for the life of me why Jennifer Hudson would not have moved her mother from this neighborhood. The neighbors say it is common to hear gun shots. I've also heard that her mother did not want to move from the neighborhood....I find that hard to believe for a 57 year old woman that is hearing gunshots on a regular basis. All black entertainers I can think of that rose to fame, first thing they did was move their parents up out of the ghetto. They were even part of their management team. Perfect example Keyshia Cole....we all know the story. I am know trying to be negative but as I take a deep breath from this whole situation I can't help but to ask why....afterall she said her mother was behind her making it. I really believe she rose to fame and left her family behind....you've rarely seen her mother with her in the spotlight. Time will tell all. I think this new fiancee btw is using her similar to they way Howard Stern used Anna Nicole Smith. He is after her success. This is indeed a sad story but it is not looking good in the eyes of Hollywood. The media has already begun to build this up as to "why" she didn't relocate her mother. Fantasia even moved her mother as soon as she made it. Some will say you can't force her to move...then why didn't she have the house more secure like gated...that way none of u would see a giant barbeque pit in the front yard....all ghettofied. I hope I didn't offend anyone but this hurts.

Family and friends of the singer have stated that Jennifer did plead to her mother about moving her to a better neighborhood, but said that her mother was so stubborn about it and didn't want to move from her comfort zone.

Unless this was indeed a random crime, I don't see the relevance of people questioning why Jennifer hadn't moved her mother to a better neighborhood. If if was a domestic crime, it would not have mattered where she lived.

That's exactly right. Even if she moved her mom to the north shore, if he was married to her sis, he would have been in the picture anyway, and the same thing would have happened. It seems they were trying to get him out of their lives anyway. I wonder if the cops had ever been called before because of him? Unfortunately, the laws are made up so that someone has to beat you half to death or kill you before action is taken.

How did she meet the new guy anyway? I was surprised to hear about him because I thought she was so in love with her long time boyfriend and had heard that they were close to marriage and her success wouldn't change their relationship, etc.

Next thing I hear she's with some guy from a reality show and then engaged just a short while later.

She told Oprah they met through friends. I never saw that reality show he was on, but people who watched it said he was a good guy who was looking to settle down

As for moving her mother out of the neighborhood. I get the feeling that the only way her mother would move is if all her things were moved out of the house when she wasn't there or something like that. I don't know why anyone would want to stay somewhere known for crime when you have a way out. I've never understood that. I've hear people in the ghetto say to me "You can get shot anywhere" or some crazy shit like that, but there's a big difference when you hear gunshots everyday in a neighborhood and never in another neighborhood. In a neighborhood where no one hears gunshots on the daily the neighbors will actually CALL police when they hear them. What kind of sick place are you living in when you hear gunshots and don pick up the fucking phone??? No one has to know you were the one who called. My parents moved us out of the hood as soon as they were able to. They couldn't take the madness around them

That house looks pretty big from the pics I've seen. Julian could be hiding in the house somewhere for all we know

CHICAGO – Jennifer Hudson and her family offered a $100,000 reward Sunday for the safe return of her missing nephew, as investigators looked for forensic evidence near the home where her mother and brother were found shot to death.

Mourners dressed in their Sunday best milled outside the childhood home of the singer and Oscar-winning actress, along with investigators seeking clues to the whereabouts of 7-year-old Julian King, the son of Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia.

In a statement Sunday evening from publicist Lisa Kasteler, Jennifer Hudson appealed to the public for its help, offering the reward and asking that any information be given to Chicago police.

"Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian," the statement said.

Chicago police ramped up search efforts for Julian around the Englewood neighborhood, where Hudson grew up, and transferred custody of a "person of interest" in the killings to state authorities.

"Detectives are working 24 hours on this case," said Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond. "There's a lot of forensic evidence. We have to work the evidence and try and solve this case. Most importantly, we want to find the child."

An Amber Alert remained in effect Sunday for Julian, who disappeared on Friday, the day the bodies of his grandmother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and 29-year-old uncle Jason Hudson were found in the home they all shared on the city's South Side. The deaths were ruled homicides.

The Amber Alert listed William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson, as a suspect in a "double homicide investigation."

Authorities said the search for Julian would be citywide, but on Sunday residents and officers focused their efforts "in the immediate vicinity" of the home, said police spokesman Dan O'Brien.

Police said they did not have a motive for the killings but called the case "domestic related." Bond said Balfour had not been charged.

"There's a lot of forensic evidence. We have to work the evidence and try and solve this case," Bond said Sunday. "Most importantly, we want to find the child."

Bond said no weapon had been found at the Hudson home, a three-story house sandwiched by vacant lots littered with trash. Investigators on Sunday moved in and out of the home and examined the trash.

Mourners stopped by the Hudson home, many laying teddy bears along the chain link fence around the property. Others signed a cross that rested on the fence.

"We love you," one message read. Another said, "We'll find the people who did this."

Police officers were instructed to place fliers with Julian King's picture and description in every business in the area.

Jennifer Hudson, who won an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2007 for her role in "Dreamgirls," was in Chicago with her family during the weekend, her sister said. Her publicist did not disclose her whereabouts, but the Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed she had identifed the bodies of her mother and brother.

Bond said Balfour, who had been in police custody since Friday, was transferred Sunday to the Illinois Department of Corrections "based on his active parole violation unrelated to this investigation."

Records from the corrections department show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle.

Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith said Balfour would likely remain in state custody until the Illinois Prisoner Review Board looked at his case. She would not say exactly where Balfour was being held.

It was unclear whether Balfour had an attorney Sunday, but his mother, Michele Balfour, has denied he was involved the killings or in Julian's disappearance.

In a MySpace blog entry on Sunday, Hudson said she was grateful for community support and posted a picture of her sister's son.

"Thank you all for your prayers and your calls," she wrote. "Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely."

Police find missing SUV in Hudson case
Associated Press reports that body of male child was found inside
The Associated Press
updated 10:00 a.m. ET, Mon., Oct. 27, 2008

CHICAGO - Police searching for Jennifer Hudson’s missing 7-year-old nephew say they’ve found the body of a young black boy in an SUV. There is no confirmation on the identity of the body.

A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office says they’ve sent investigators to the scene. A spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department refused to comment Monday.

Julian King hasn’t been seen since Friday. That’s when Hudson’s mother and brother were found shot to death in their home.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the 7-year-old and were looking for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban. The Oscar-winning actress offered a $100,000 reward for his safe return.

Julian is the son of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia Hudson.

Police on Sunday transferred custody of a “person of interest” in the killings to state authorities.

Tragic and gut wrenching.....I just celebrated my son's 16th birthday on Friday and before we stepped out of the car for the big bash I heard of this news on the radio. My heart went out to her as if I personally knew her. To loose anyone you love so dearly is one thing but "murder" that is senseless is something one doesn't come back from. I would be crazed at this time. That light in that little boys eyes will no longer be...lost 4 ever or the comofort and support of her mother and brother is wiped away forever over some bullshit! It really makes me sick to my stomache and brings to reality full force that "time" is so precious to all of us. Not only does my heart goes out to this young soul singer my soul is touched and will be used in a spiritual sense to give her strength. sad

One really sad note about this is that it was Jennifer Hudson's sister and mother to the apparent slain Julian, Julia's B-Day on 10-23, just the day before the murders.

My GF and I got into a discussion about Julia, If it comes out that her husband was indeed the killer of her mother, brother and only child.... she will be utterly devastated and will likely blame herself for what happened even though he would have committed the crime.

Reason being... if you view her myspace page and have been up on the type of person he is (ex con who served time and is on parole for an attempted Murder and carjacking case)... it draws a sad reality as to how she carried herself and who she attracted to her life. Because of the Jennifer connection... this story is getting national attention... but sad to say domestic issues derived from certain lifestyles is all too common.

Seems like Julia got involved with him while he was already on parole. Does Illinois have the death penalty? If guilty of all 3 slayings I’m guessing Balfour would be a candidate.

As the search for Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew intensified over the weekend, many are turning a wary eye toward the boy’s mother — Jennifer’s older sister, Julia Hudson.

Julian King went missing the same day his grandmother and uncle were gunned down in their Englewood home early Friday (10/24). He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Questions first started to arise early Saturday morning when it appeared that Julia logged into her Myspace page to accept friend requests.

In an emotional plea Saturday for the safe return of her son, Julia King appeared well-rested and her hair was immaculately laid. Now I’m not judging Julia Hudson, but I can’t see a grieving mother sitting in a beauty salon for hours while her hair is curled and spritzed.

Add to this the fact that Julia reportedly returned home from work Friday to find the body of her mother lying on the living room floor. But Hudson is a school bus driver and Friday was a teacher work day in Chicago. Meaning, school was out for children.

Also, when she made her public plea Saturday, Hudson seemed to know that her son’s abductor was not her estranged husband. William Balfour was arrested late Friday but never charged.

Balfour was turned over to the state dept. of corrections on Sunday for violating his parole in a case unrelated to the murders. A judge could set him free as early as this week.

It’s obvious that Balfour is no longer a suspect or he would still be in police custody. Chicago police forensics technicians dusted the front door and inside the home for fingerprints and didn’t find any belonging to Balfour.

All of this is leading to speculation that Julia is somehow involved.

Jennifer Hudson has offered a $100,000 reward for the safe return of her nephew. Police are still looking for a 1994 white Chevy Suburban with license plate: X58-4859. Anyone with information is asked to call Chicago police.

I kinda figured the boy was already dead the moment he came up missing. Damn shame.
