She looked okay to me... she just got older, got bigger. Those TLC girls are really really tiny in person. Any amount of weight on their little elfin bodies makes them look bloated on camera.

Did they have to say R KELLY as a comparison to AL GREEN in that speech for Al, I mean you couldnt come up with another RB singer besides the one that beat a rape case, and loads of other charges. Overall, I thought the show was ok. Alicia Keys is so selfless. This is the second time that I've seen her use a pretty high-profile performance to re-introduce some of the people who inspired her musically. At the Grammiys it was the dance hall tribute with Beenie Man, Chakademus & Pliers(spelling?), etc. Last night it was The girl groups.

http://www.bet.com/Specia...deoindex=5 Just to show you how ignant they is, they've posted the link for Maxwell's performance as Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton & Maxell tribut performance. . . : WTF???? I didn't watch last night but I can say it hasn't been any good since '06 when Prince brought the funk with Chaka and Stevie. And I can totally overlook the Jamie and Fantasia kissing fiasco that year. I still haven't really watched last year's (which I still have on DVR) even though I was actually there backstage. That's where the REAL party's at.

I have to agree with this statement. I enjoyed Alicia and the girl groups and of course Al and Quincy, but the rest of the show was pure garbage. The rappers and hip/hoppers are embarrassing to watch. I guess they think they're cool, but I think they look pathetic. It's painful to watch.

I'm glad I didn't have 2 sit through the whole thing.
I'd say that Marvin Sapp's performance, along with Al Green's were the highlights. As far as the tribute 2 Al, it was nice 2 see Maxwell sing live again, but he wasn't nearly in the voice as he was just a few years ago. "He's a musician's musician..."

The other stand out performance for me was Alicia Keys reuniting the 90s super-girl groups. It was so good to see En Vogue and SWV (and TLC). **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Man, I loved watching the Ne-Yo performance. On the other hand, Rick Ross' performance was one of the funniest of the evening. Just to see his big a$$ performing with an open shirt was funny...yet disturbing. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I thought the girl group reunion was trash. Alicia's mike was up more than the others and I could barely hear Cindy, CoCo, and T-Boz, but whatever. I like seeing Maxwell. Very happy to see him performing

BET should be ashamed of themselves not doing the award shows like back in the days when they let the ledgends come out on their own. and Erica not winning an award for best video? cuuuuumooooonnnnn. That was one of the best put together videos ever!
(actually I didn't see the awards, but based on what is posted here, I guess I didn't miss much) nipsy

(actually I didn't see the awards, but based on what is posted here, I guess I didn't miss much) Well this is the problem with EVERY award show, they use the young to somehow make it VALID for them to put a legend on their show. This i think is because they are so starved to have a younger artist actually catch on with the older crowd. But every show does this stuff now and im sure they wont stop anytime soon. Janelle Monae and Maxwell Angie Stone En Vogue I don't care! nelly and ashanti make a great couple. I would love to see more of them. I can't recognize any of the members of envogue. and It looks like one of them came back to the group. maxwell looks like he went from young to fifty five but still looks great. Kinda funny to see him with a drink in his hand. I am used to seeing him looking a bit shy. tlc looks good, tboz looking older and chilli looking the same. Keisha Cole looks like she wants to say UH BITCH STOP HOGGING UP THE LIMELIGHT nipsy

I like Jennifer Hudson and all, but the girl needs to stop wearing clothing that is 2 sizes too tight for her. Last night's h.a.m.trocity with the overflowing back fat and boob cinching was just bad (not to mention the hair).

Nelly is so desperate, and soooo 2002 (like his girl, Ashanti). They're on the third and fourth singles from the new album that hasn't even been released yet, and they keep flop flop flopping, one after the other.
Nelly is the new Flopzinger.

I guess you're right, but I don't see any connection with this generation vs. that generation unfortuneatly. the music has gotten so bad these days that this generation doesn't even look like they know the names of any of the ledgends of the nineties, let alone need to be bringing them out. I hope that BET finds a more clever way to connect the young with the old. I mean the execs of these shows are from that era they should know that these groups still have a following and let them come out and do them. nipsy

Alicia did nicely tonight. She had a Sheila E-ish playfulness about her. I liked seeing that side of Miss Keys. I know right! LeLe didn't look that bad, but Taj and Coko looked like they were about to bust out! EnVogue looked good! Chilli looking real muscluar- I wasn't digging that and T-Boz looked like she wasn't feeling too good- like they just got her out the house and said throw on something and come on. Al Green was feeling it- Ya'll see that little "hip step". He was getting it like he was 20 something again.
