We couldn't figure out why the rug was bunched up under him, unless he was starting to lose his balance and was struggling to stay upright, maybe fucking up the rug in the process. His arm and hand looked paler than normal, obviously.

Maybe the bunched up rug was due to Paramedics working on him? So that would make sense about the rug.

.

God, I don't want to see that! disbelief

I'm just watching the video from TMZ. Is that Prince's uneaten food and his sunglasses sitting on the table? eek

Yeah, ABC noted that it was probably some food he had set out to eat. There was a jacket and some bag(s) on a chair, likely tossed there when he came in from wherever. We always heard about him sitting in the same booth all the time to get a snack or whatever. I thought that shot was poignant for whatever reason. It was just so every day.

.

That's interesting that he had a favorite spot to sit. It's sad seeing this. I know he wore Oakley sunglasses.

The way some of it looked, it looked like P was doing the texting, some of them anyways.

It's also interesting to note how very little of anything was said there. People going back and forth, saying not much of anything. Weird.

Since P probably seen or texted some of the texts, this shows me he knew about Dr. K being contacted and expected the visit.

Text messages between Prince's assistant and doctor

THIS! What tests were being delivered and why did they care so much about “better for privacy”? Has this question been answered?

It was all clearly explained in the news conference this AM. The timeline of events. But it was so much to takw it i'm fuzzy on the details. What was clear in the end tho is that kirk and dr s and even prince himself were quickly becoming alarmed by his pill useage and were doing as much as they could to keep him comfortable while the awaited help that was on the way from the recovery place. It was all too little too late. He almost made it. If only he could have held on just a few more hours. And he could have beat this. I know he could have if he had been given the chance. It makes it that much harder to accept. He wanted to live. I do not believe for a minute that he would just give up. He wasnt about that. He had so much more to do. He didnt deserve this ending.

I agree again, sonshine.

I was talking about the timeline on the texts. What do you mean by a few more hours - when a few more hours?

Did anyone see what day that was? Or series of days. They are talking about getting him IV fluids at a clinic, right?

.

Going by what Attorney Metz said, Prince saw Dr. Schulenberg on April 7th, complaining of numbness in his hands and legs. Dr. Schulenberg gave him I.V. and two prescriptions to fill at Walgreen's. He put the Rx's in Kirk's name to protect Prince's privacy.

.

On April 14th, Dr. Shulenberg gave Prince a Rx for Percocet (15 pills). That evening, Prince O.D. in Moline on the airplane.

.

Per Atty. Metz, no pills were tested in Moline and it's possible Prince took Vicodin laced with Fentanyl.

.

April 18th, Kirk tells Dr. Schulenberg that he was concerned about Prince's pain pill use.

.

April 19th, Prince saw Dr. Schulenberg again and gave him I.V. fluids.

.

Kirk spoke with Dr. Schulenberg regarding getting Prince treatment at that time.

One of the side effects of Fentanyl abuse is

  • Numbness or tingling in the hands, feet or lips
  • Lower back or side pain
  • Pale skin
  • Nervousness

It was that one damned bottle of Vicadon. Because he was taking other medications, he probably didn't realize the Vicadon laced with Fentanyl was probably causing his problems.

Can we start a separate thread about the tapes on the shelves in the vault? I saw two from 85/86 called "Soul Sister" and "Fun Love" and a '92 era track called "Check It Out", none of which are listed on Princevault. Also you can make out master tapes for Take Me With U, Purple Rain, Moonbeam Levels, Blue Light, Neon Telephone, Spirit, Jungle Love and I Don't Wanna Leave U, a box marked "Vagina" from the Vanity 6 era, many Parade era masters, a tape labelled "Pop Life Outtakes", and dozens of live tapes. A lot to digest.

Yeah, it looks like Prince's opioid addiction was an indirect cause of his death. Once he sarted using that Vicadon bottle, all these severe problems started within a short period of time. Because he wasn't upfront with illicit Vicadon he was using, the real probelm couldn't be pinpointed by his doctor. Prince was probably builiding up so much Fentanyl in his system in a short period of time that it eventually killed him. He was basically a walking dead man. sad I fear he was beyond saving at a certain point.

Given the stature of someone like Prince; it would not take much time for these drugs to eat away at your vital organs. We just don't know how long he was toying with this illegal stuff, but maybe not very long. I don't think he had any idea that the Vicodin was laced with Fentanyl.

This could be possible.

From what I've read, fentanyl is more intense but doesn't last as long so you have to take more sooner. That's one of the reasons long time addicts don't like it mixed with their heroin because they have to go cop more often.

The newly released materials (as reported in the AP) say that in Moline "Prince was taken to a hospital for monitoring. A nurse told detectives that he refused routine overdose testing that would have included blood and urine tests....The nurse said when Prince was asked what he had taken, he didn’t tell the nurse what it was but said “someone gave it to him to relax.” The attorney in the press release said that his pills also weren't testedin Moline.

-

So that means he (and everyone else) wouldn't have known what opioid caused his Moline OD and wouldn't have known that his drug supply was tainted with fentanyl.

Nope, I believe he had chronic pain. It's just never been confirmed. I also believe that if he had chronic pain, that he could have gotten those scripts legally and safely, and he didn't have to resort to street drugs.

My hubby has severe chronic pain. I know what happens and I know how easily addicting these pills can be.

____

My thoughts are, he had chronic pain with his hip, the Drs. gave him scripts for the pain at some point. They have made these drugs hard to get even for the people who need them. He could not obtain them legally any longer.

He had to resort to the streets to obtain them. This 1 time he got a bad batch, that happens all the time. I don't think P stood on a street corner and found somebody to sell them to him.

The family needs to have a press conference.

The Prosecutor just confirmed that there was evidence that Prince was experiencing pain for years !!!

It could have been cash. The point is that since he died of drugs, a bag with "opium" on it becomes a compelling image.

I'm not going to look at any picture of him from that .... I don't want to see him like that. So I'm begging everyone to please not post any of photos of him in this thread. I'm not watching the news either, because I don't want to accidentally see it, like some here have reported. I don't want to remember him like that, and once that image gets in my head, I'll never get it out again.

Having said that, everyone is talking about him being outside of the elevator, but it is very possible that the EMTs moved him outside of the elevator in order to work on him. I'm sure there would not have been enough room in the elevator for them to try to revive him. It would explain the bunched up rug that people are describing. Keep in mind that they called for assistance and EMTs were the first to arrive, I believe. They would have tried to use paddles on him, I believe, and would not have done so inside the elevator. By the time the police arrived, they would have already moved him outside of the elevator.
