EXCLUSIVE - Purple Rain Deluxe Tracklist Revealed!

Last night, I got a tip from an industry insider that Warner Bros had registered all the tracks for Purple Rain Deluxe. As a songwriter myself with registered works, I have access to these databases - after following the lead wediscovered the following registrations - all recently registered by Warners marked with a 2017 release date and with full ISRC codes (These codes are used to identify released works across platforms).

So, without further ado here it is! Exclusive information about the forthcoming long-awaited Prince release, PURPLE RAIN DELUXE, to be released in June! Please feel free share this information across the whole Purple Family - all I ask is that you follow my facebook page (The Violet Reality) and repost the included image.
Please note - this is not necessarily the final order of tracks - and it's also possible (though unlikely) that there are other tracks not registered yet. Also worth noting - we've yet to hear anything about the accompanying live video DVDs.

Disc 2 completely unnecessary. Disc 3 not that exciting, although there's quite a lot to love in there. A bit of a missed opportunity, though.

Deeply unimpressed by disk 2. Disk 3 looks great!

Agreed. Although We Can Fuck is a nice surprise. Wonder what Prince would have thought of that...

I'll buy it!!! I'm disappointed that the extended version of "17 Days" isn't included though.

If this is right, then it looks interesting to me. Seems to be plenty of stuff on disc three that we've wanted to be officially released for years, like the studio version of Electric Intercourse.

Maybe it's inevitable that some people will be underwhelmed, as we've waited around three years for this set.

I'd much rather have a three disc set at a reasonable price (I hope) than a multi-multi disc set, bundled with tacky merchandise which retails for hundreds of pounds.
It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

Interesting how pretty much everything is already out there. Also No time tracks, No Jill Jones, No Appolonia

I'm pretty certain that the extended version was a dj made extended version and not from the Prince camp hence the reason why it's not included.

Also, is the original Purple Rain really that bad sounding?

I think it was confirmed on here a few years ago that there's a unreleased version that's a little longer. Cuz the original fades.theres got to be more to it.

By the way, just want to clarify as someone asked elsewhere - the original tracks in the database from Disc 1 are specifically marked as "2015 Paisley Park Remaster" - obviously, we remember Prince and Warners making the announcement the year before. Guessing that 2015 is when they got finished and/or delivered.... but that's 100% how they appear in the database.

well that's not 2 albums of unreleased music. However disk 3 will be marvellous to have.

This is everything that is registered right now. It would be incredibly unusual for Warners to register everything at different times, as the ISRC codes for the tracks are sequential, so the sequential ISRC codes before and after the ones that belong to these songs, are already done for other Warner Bros releases coming out around the same time.

That said, I can't 100% say this is final, although I strongly believe that it is based on the above and the fact that a June release would mean the packages will be getting manufactured in May.

Wow......they need their asses whipped for this.

This is a MAJOR letdown.

Who the hell needs a disk of 7" edits?

Where is the list of songs from the other artists that appeared on the movie?

There is only 1 song on the Prince Disk 3 that we don't already have.

What a letdown.

But for the unnecessary single edits, a good looking package.

Definitely needs both versions of God. They're totally different. Should've had Sex Shooter, the time songs and Modernaire too.

As for a studio version of electric intercourse. Get In!

Thanks Militant.

Something doesn't compute, here I can see only 1 CD of unreleased tracks, not 2 as announced.

That said, many interesting things inside, something really unexpected.

All in all, I hope this is the real release.

Could be worse but yeah, hmm. Some nice things in there but no 17 Days extended? I wonder if Our Destiny/ Roadhouse Garden isn't just taken from the birthday show? Where is Wednesday???

Also who's the fool complaining about two versions of God?? You know we'd go mad if they managed to mess up everything previously released on here!

Speak for yourself - there are nine on disk 3 that I don't have. But disk 2 does look a bit rubbish. I'll still buy it though.

Happy to see CB (Hallway Speech Version) is included. It's all I asked for. However, I was hoping for something introspective in the vein of MJ's Thriller SE where Q and Rod Temperton were interviewed. Would have also liked to here different takes/early versions of When Doves Cry, etc.

Overall, this satisfies me.

Totally agree on points one and two but I don't think we can reasonably complain that we already have most of disc 3. At least the quality will better (hopefully)

Thanks for sharing. I'm absolutely salivating over disc 3, yet also cautious about being too excited, as the Moonbeam Levels sound quality was disappointing on 4Ever. I'm praying Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden are the Prince versions, and not the Lisa or Jill Jones ones.

Disc 2 is a bit of a WTF, as it's clearly not a disc of unreleased material, as promised, and a bunch of those single edits were just released on 4Ever. 17 Days is not just the 7 inch edit, but the version from the 12 inch as well. I was confused about for a sec and had to pull out my copy.

Disc 3 tho!!!!! drool3

Also, this version of Possessed is surprising, as it's not the '84 version, which some were hoping for/expecting.

Do we really think Prince wanted We Can Fuck, or even Wonderful Ass on there. Seems suspect.

Not as bad as I expected - disc 2 a waste of time but disc 3 is great. Bout time I paid back for some of these tracks. I'm probably happier than I expected to be.

We'll I guess that answers the age old question of the Roadhouse Gsrden album. Damn. If they put that on there they should have gone ahead and thrown All Day, All Night and Splash on there too. Yeah WB needs to stop with the damn single edits. I could forgive it once with the 4ever release but this is a damn pattern! But I'm still excited! Party Up!
