Mayte and P never mended fences. He even made her pay for her own ticket to one of his shows years after they divorced, and he just strolled on by her with a snarky comment. Something to that effect

Just cause she had to pay for a ticket doesn't mean anything. She went to one of his shows post divorce & he hugged her. She even stated that she reached out to him & they cleared the air as both of them were living in LA. They were cordial maybe not close but cordial.

One fan said at a concert, Prince saw Mayte in the audience and hugged her sometime after their divorce.

Mayte said in an interview, there were no bad feelings between she and Prince.

But in the Ex-Housewives Realty show, she mentioned that she and Prince did not talk.

She also stated because they had no children involved that there was really no reason to talk.

Mayte's mother sure didn't seem to like Prince. She said that on the show. She said he was a fabulous musician, but that he was basically not a nice person. Maybe Mayte didn't end up with much after the divorce. Maybe only enough to buy her home in LA.

I would love to know that divorce settlement.

The show where he hugged her was at 3121. He cut off her concert VIP access after the reality show, where Manuela showed up showing off her baby pics. To this day I think that was tacky beyond belief. I remember Mayte and one of her guy friends dissed Prince publicly on Facebook about cutting off her show access. [Edited 1/16/17 10:34am]

oh really? didn't know that. What year was 3121? And when did the Realty show start, wasn't it in 2012??? I thought she got permission from Prince to do that show. hmmmm.

3121 was in 2006 and I was at that show. The reality show was years later.

So why are Mayte's divorce records not released?

I personally don't think Manuella's divorce record is that big a deal.

Sure, she wanted to try and walk away with some money, but if she is filing divorce - depending on the reason, which is probably irreconciable differences, she shouldn't receive all that money. According to the article, she went from $42,000 a month to $10,000 a month, thanks to Prince's commong sense remark.

She divorced him right after his money making tour "Musicology".... that annoyed me, because she encouraged him to get back out there. That tour grossed over 80 million dollars.

Giving her a house and a car is pretty common in celebrity marriages. Mayte probably got that too. And what does Prince care, he has a load of houses.

Nice to see Prince at least stiffed her attorney. He owed them $500,000 when he passed. lol I'm sure they will collect down the road once all is settled. But at least he made them wait.

P doesnt owe her attorney fees.

$599,000 is the claim made against the Estate by Patrick Cousins, that sleeze bag attorney that represented P in the divorce, and also represented CarlinQ.

yes, you are correct regarding the fees. I must have read the article wrong.

"I have my doubts as well. But why does she care so much about how the public or I guess Prince fans even view her anyway? I mean she got what she wanted already; the money, new husband, the gorgeous kids. She's living her life and whatever we think or gossip about on here should not make any dent on that." ------------------------------- I believe she cares because she put on this, "I'm a plain girl who doesn't like the limelight or the celebrity lfestyle" and acted like money didn't matter to her and that it was only about her charity and doing for others, etc etc...(I'm not saying she doesn't care about her charity, please don't take that the wrong way)and now these documents show her in a different light. Will members of her charity see her differently? She wants to "maintain" the "lifestyle" that she supposedly didn't care about,hm? She also knows fans are going to confront her, talk negatively about her and maybe even stop donating to her IAPW charity because they see her in a different light now! She recently thanked the Purple Army for raising enough money to build a second school in memory of Prince. What perfect timing! Announced shortly before the divorce is unsealed. Lastly, she might have told Eric a whole other story of what went down and she knew she would be busted and look bad.Maybe she told EB she only got pennies from P and told him $X amount and has the rest in a separate account E knew nothing about. Now E's like "Where's all that $$ hunny?" Lol. Not to mention, who knows what she told her whole family. She could have told them a whole other story as well and now they find out otherwise. She wouldn't care and shouldn't care however, there's a reason she DOES care....so, which reason is it?

The way he lets her carry on about being Princes' e-wife since he died makes me think he is down/okay with what she did and is doing because he is benefitting from her cash out too probably. I mean what kind of man lets their wife keep on and on about their ex in the way thats been happening? He seems starry eyed too.

.

[Edited 1/16/17 10:00am]

I agree with 1Org. It appears to me that Eric may be in on the whole play a simple girl with a dream to help poor people narrative she wants to cotinue. He is/has benefited from whatever money she got out of her marriage and continued connection to P. He also did sing at the Prince public memorial in LA, right? I find it all so bizarre. But 1BillyJack, you definitely have a point about wanting to keep up appearances for the sake of continuing what appears to be a steady stream of donations to her charity from Prince fans and the like.

As much as I hate the Star Tribune for getting this unsealed there really is not much to see here; pretty boring as far as celebrity divorces go. ๐Ÿ˜ด

Yeah, but they stated that all the records were not unsealed. The judge granted the motion to keep some things sealed as we can see.

I doubt they kept anything seeled that would make it less boring. Probably just financial stuff that they're keeping sealed for privacy reasons.

1) Unless you are a moderator, or the creator of a thread that has been removed that we have reached out to, you are not privy to why a thread is deleted, so anybody that says "This thread was deleted because XYZ" is basing that on nothing but pure guesswork.

2) No member has ever been banned for simply expressing an opinion. People get banned for flaming and attacking, which is a violation of the site rules. No, you are not permitted to attack moderators. That's true - because you're not permitted to attack anyone. It's right there in the site rules. It makes no difference if it's a moderator or a regular member.

3) It's a misnomer to say that threads that bashed Prince were allowed to stay and threads that bash associates were not. That assumes that all the moderators are a single entity with the same opinions on what should and should not be closed. I've removed dozens of threads that have bashed Prince over the years and so has literally every other mod. I'm also sure that I've missed a bunch and so have other mods. We don't get paid for this. We don't get to read every thread. I've said it a bunch of times - if you're unhappy with a post or a thread, report it and we'll take a look.

4) Being "neutral" is in itself taking a stance. Just like any other opinion, you are free to agree or disagree. If I remain "neutral" on the issue of the unsealed documents, for example, I am implicitly agreeing to it by not opposing it, just like if you do not act when you see someone getting abused in public you are helping the assailant by standing idly by. I disagree with these documents getting unsealed because the two people directly involved in them wanted them to remain sealed. I do not believe either of them should be attacked for it, and that's all there is to it.

5) I likely take more heat than any other mod due to my visibility, but there is something that remains 100% factual here, and that is that on any issue, every single mod here has taken an action on it. So while it's easy to see some threads getting snipped and deleted and concoct a ridiculous narrative about me, the fact is that other mods took that action in many of those incidents. I would daresay that luv4u takes more action on threads than I do, so what's the narrative there? This is what I mean when I talk about a false narrative. But, some people are gonna have preconceived notions and look for things that fit their narrative even when those things aren't there. I don't mind, it is what it is.

Regarding #2.

I and others, are still wondering why NurseV, DiamondsNPearls44 and NinaB were permanently banned from the board? True, they would not let others get away with garbage, they would often come to defense of others or threads on the board, but I have not seen anything that would truly warrant a permanent ban.

Those two ladies were power houses on this board, good gals and as Prince focused as anybody else on this board but they're now gone. I understand politics, alliances and everything else that goes on in any social situation BUT.....what is good for the goose, is certainly good for the gander.

I hope now that some more personal details of Prince's life are coming out and some folks are finally realizing that he was HUMAN - there won't be more uncalled for permanent banishments, threads being pulled or footsy playing allowed.

Sorry to derail this topic....carry on.

Pls note that I have no issues with her relationship to Prince, I just don't like that it seemed to be at the expense of his 1st marriage & then this luxury lifestyle she attempted to maintain after she left him. I blame both parties for the entire ordeal.

So if Mani was one of the reasons for the break-up of Prince & Mayte's marriage, why are Mayte and Mani friends?

I hope that Mayte addresses this question in her book.

Sorry to derail this topic....carry on.

eek I wondered what happened to them.
