I bought 2 VIP tickets for November. I can't go sooner. I've been a fan/friend since 1978. I can't imagine how I'll feel being in such an iconic domicile, but I need it.

As a lifelong Prince fan still shocked and saddened by his passing, I am pleased about this decision. To me, it is an opportunity to pay my respects and step into his spiritual and creative home. What an honor.

I bought a VIP ticket today for October 13, and will be flying in from Boston for the occasion. It will be my first time at Paisley Park, or Minneapolis for that matter - and I will consider it carthatic - a way to help me heal and also offer my thanks, even silently. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to walk the same floors as Prince in his home studio. I'll be in town for 3 days, and plan to visit 1st Avenue and other famous Prince places, and hopefully will attend the tribute concert.

I can understand why many think it's too soon. Maybe it is. But the people who will attend are Prince fans who loved him. To me, it's like a kind of wake and I want to thank him for the years and hours of joy, escape, comfort and excitement he gave me.

I hope to meet some of you there.

Excellent. cool

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting on how well tickets for the Paisley Park tour have been selling. The article notes that Prince's private living quarters are not part of the tour, including the longer VIP tour.

Good to see everyone so happy and get to enjoy a great time touring Paisley Park. I truly hope I'm wrong about its sustainability and hope as many people get to enjoy it.

I don't like it, I don't like it at all! You all sound like a bunch of vultures wanting a piece of Prince. I know this has got to be done, I understand somebody, something's gotta pay the dues...I just feel it's way to early.

Sniffy

At his concert I went to this year, Prince invited the whole audience in the arena to come visit him at Paisley Park. At the time, I didnt think it would be like this sad

It's entirely fair for you to have different feelings or perspectives on whether it is too soon for you but I don't think this really calls for you judging what others decide to do for them.

It's wonderful to see how excited org fans are about this! When I decide I can go, it's gonna be VIP. I'd be traveling from the East Coast so I want to see it all!!!!

Did you even read any of the posts in here? A lot of us are not excited and think it is way too soon and just a way to make fast cash. A trip to Paisley Park without Prince just seems wrong. Don't think he would have approved. But I guess he had no will, so......

Lol, are you serious lol Because if you go back and read the posts you'll see that I did indeed address that too. And of course he'd be good with it, he'd stated himself that he wanted to turn PP into a museum.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

I'm not judging. He gave so much of himself in life, I feel like everyone wants more of him in death. Just want him to rest in peace now. He was so talented, a God given gift he shared with the world and mostly his fans. So much heartbreak too, just as the rest of us have, yet when it was a night of pleasuring his fans he'd have to hide his pain and sorrows.

Maybe Prince does not care about worldly things anymore. If anything he ever did helps another person in any way I'm sure he would be happy about that. If his family is cashing in, I'm sure he's happy. If his fans get to see PP, I'm sure he's happy. If someone is profiting of t-shirtss with his face on it, I'm sure he's happy. I'm happy today for the first time since he passed because I have something to look forward to, going to PP. I NEED to go. I know it's so soon it's bizarre but I'm going while the opportunity is there.
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

I'm feel the same way as you, I know life goes on, I have a full life with 3 kids to support. That goes on, but I feel that people jumping to see paisley park and open the vault for music aren't real fans of prince. Im still trying to get my head around his death. There are a lot of things thats not right about it.
I'm sorry but that is just how I feel. There has been no funeral for the fans just cremated and done with. Lots of fans left empty, like me.

Exactly! The family held no memorial for the fans nothing for the public because Prince was such a private person yet they open up his privacy to the fans so soon after his death?! All people saw was money when he died...that's it - money! And it begins with his family and his fans. I'm having nothing to do with it. I'm like you, I've got a life, friends and family, but occasionally I looked forward to my Prince experience. I loved the change he made in not only life but his music. Prince hated being used and he hated people using him and his God given talent for profit. This is how I know his death wasn't meant to be, because he had no Will. He was just as human as the rest of us and took his time here for granted never expecting to die so soon, so young!

Whether someone expects to die or not they should have a will. Especially someone as famous and wealthy as Prince. He didn't and the bills and taxman aren't going away.

I understand those people that don't like the idea of this, but referring to people that have bought tickets as vultures or not true fans is a bit much. If you don't wanna go, that's your business, but others do. At the end of the day Prince never left a will, no instructions on what's supposed to happen to his estate at all with that being the case this has been left with his family and people appointed to look after it. They're gonna have to do what they have to do. Simple

Every time I read this thread I end up smh at the moral police round here! Some of you people are far too judgemental rolleyes and need to let people be! Everyone grieves in their own way and if the opening of PP brings some people comfort, more power to them. It's plain as day that to keep PP going some income needs to be generated. We can debate whether it's too soon, why they are charging etc etc for eternity it's still not going to get the bills paid. Like everyone I'm concerned about commercialisation and the way he will be marketed. As there is no will confused we can only hope that for every venture they undertake, it's done in accordance with, or with some semblance of Prince's wishes. As far as PP is concerned, I feel comforted by the fact that this is something Prince wanted to do and it's providing an outlet for grieving fans. When I'm ready I will go, if they do him right.

If people are cool with it and it makes them happy, then cool. But I'm with the people who find it morbid trampling through his house so soon after his passing.
It's not even a year since his passing. I personally just find it too weird.

Having said that, Prince loved having people over to Paisley Park, inviting fans for parties and stuff all the time, so it's only my hang-up. We're all different.

I speculate like others that he knew he didn't have much time and his piano shows were to his farewell. None of us knows how Prince himself would feel about this and never will, so I say if it interests you then cool.

A) Paisley Park is not a house.

B) No level of tour is allowing entry into his living space.

As I said earlier...I am going; VIP ticket. I consider this a sacred opportunity to visit Paisley Park to pay my respects and thank Prince for all he did for my life. When I visited Florence Italy and planned to see Michelangelo's David, I got dressed up for the occasion. It was an honor. When someone dies, you visit their home afterward. It is healing. That's how I view this opportunity, and I for one give thanks to his family for allowing it, because there has been no public funeral. This is better, it is a tremendous gift to his fans. I can only imagine that most who enter will behave with reverence and respect.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Prince specifically save special items that he said had no real meaning to himself but he felt people might want to see them some day when he's not there anymore? Outfits, motorcycles, photographs lining the walls etc. In other words, wasn't he planning for Paisley Park to be some kind of a museum one day?

I agree!!! I rarely post as its sad seeing so called "ADULTS" trying to ruin fans decision to visit and support Paisley Park. I have been a fan since 1982 and I think this is a great idea. Prefer to see Paisley Park opened than closed.
