I am laughing so hard-you just made me spit my drink all over my laptop! Think of what collectable merchandise that lineup would be in 50 years wink Personally, I am looking forward to Paisley's performance.

I have one inside source in the area, I got a text about an hour ago that said it's on- details are coming. He also said that it, most likely, won't be as BIG as some fans are expecting but "solid". Wouldn't give me line up info. but said I'd be "pleased" So we wait...

I think for an encore they should round up all the most...erm, colorful...Prince fans known (mostly to the Org, but still) from over the years, like Vagina/Natasha/Zelaira and Oceana and "Prince made woman in wheelchair cry" and Sand Dollar Girl etc and have them stand up at a mic and tell their stories. It would bring the house down! wink

If it became something like The Revolution & The Time at the Target Centre, that would be cool, but a smaller event might stufff overseas fans, the one paying out ten times more to get there.

Fingers Crossed they don't panic a Plan B that stuffs a lot of people, be it dates or venue.

Truthfully, I'm not sure the potential heirs (family) are able to have any control over this at this time, the estate is still in probate and no one has been deemed an official heir yet. If they haven't been named, there's no money to put this on yet and they probably have no say at all. It was noted elsewhere that the two other events that were put on by family DID happen in early-mid August, but the cost just isn't comparable to a large tribute event in a 50k+ seat stadium. I'm only saying this because if there is blame, it doesn't belong on the family's shoulders, it belongs on whoever it is that was in charge of putting this all together...like Londell? and probably Bremer Trust. Weren't there financial stipulations set by the judge on expenses that could be approved by Bremer? An event like this would no doubt have exceeded the max limit.

His sister was the one who told us on her face book page about the tribute concert.......Why is she being silent now? I do blame the family and Lonell who was in charge of this mess. I am pissed off. Somebody announced something

I don't know details anymore than you do, but I know not everything we think we control is really within our control sometimes confused If I remember correctly, that was back in July she said that...without going through all sorts of court stuff, I can't say for sure but there's been a hell of a lot that's gone on with the estate since then. Maybe they thought things would resolve quickly but that hasn't been the case. You'll think whatever you want to think as is your right, but sometimes situations change and are out of our control no matter how well-intentioned we are when we say things, so I can't be angry with the family over this. I've been in that position myself, so I get it. Not gonna say nothing about Londell though since he seemed to come out as spokesperson. I'm sorry you're pissed off hug but do understand why. I hope it all works out for you.

As a fan who never got to see Prince or any of his associates live in concert before. I am not able to make the trip to MN like a lot of but ya know 2 weekends ago when I got to sit in my own house and watch The Revolution on livestream for the first time ever in the same place that I see on the movie Purple Rain for 3 solid nights while chatting in the chatroom with ohter org members. Then got to go downtown this past weekend and see Dez jam with some buddies in person that to me was my closure. I came away this weekend feeling like ok I am good to go. Now I find excitement on hunting up show dates for those Prince either had as bandmates or guided to see when they are here in Nashville. I am going to see Esperanza Spalding on Oct 1 (i posted info under the concerts info section) and will look forward to wishing and hoping that in time that I will be able to say I've seen them all! biggrin

MEH I don't know. Not bad could of been better. Kind of not sure how I fell about it being in St Paul and not Minneapolis for one. Being a smaller venue might make it much much harder to get tickets also. sad Line up not great but not too bad. sad

The seating capacity for this venue is 18,568. Much more realistic at this late date but still a challenge to fill. Now travellors in Minnie have to figure out how to get to St. Paul... razz

Stevie, great, the Time, great, but seriously, Tori Kelly, Luke James? And the other 'icons' (Mayer, Aguilera, Khan Baker) aren't exactly A list anymore.

This looks like an agent has been asked who he/she can cobble together.

confused

Yes much more realistic but also easier for scalpers to get a hold of tickets and for locals to scoop them up before people that already have travel plans might be able too.

Not what I was hoping for or envisioning for a tribute. I'm sure others will disagree and I'm glad for you guys that will go and I hope you'll have a great time...but this 'tribute' just isn't my cup of tea at all. at least now I know what's going on though, so that's good

But people here didn't want A-list they wanted Sheila E, Rev, Morris Day. :-?

I'm hoping they can still get members of Revolution as surprise guests. Bummer that Sheila won't be there but I'll take Stevie and Chaka. Also I'd quibble about Christina Aguilera and John Mayer not being A-list. I love John Mayer and the event needs a great guitar player. Lenny Kravitz would have been great too (my dream would be him being a surprise guest). 🙏🏻

I have no issue with the venue. For one thing, no Christina Aguilera, I'm just not a fan and, for me, she stinks up this tribute and also I don't get the Prince connection with her (not saying there isn't one I'm not aware of). Not a John Mayer fan although I don't deny his talent as a guitar player. I don't recognize a couple of the names and those I don't know what the connection to Prince is either. Like I said, I hope those that are pleased with this can go, and will have a great time.

-

Edited to add: I do think Stevie and Chaka are great additions to the lineup.
