First remaster will be released before the year is over. A similar tweet was posted a day or two before Phase 2 was released. Can't help to see a pattern, knowing quite well that Prince doesn't do patterns, though.

I think we all need to just move on.Remasters aren't gonna happen.I suggest you all go out and buy some remasters from your other favorite artists,as I am doing. If Prince doesn't want our "remaster money",let's spend it on artists and bands who do smile

`

Sure the value is diminishing (as I say so myself elsewhere on this thread), but what can you do as a fan if he thinks he should hold off a few more months, years, even a decade or dare I say two? Meanwhile he's been very active with four albums plus one production credit in two years so for the fans out there who don't automatically vomit on everything he does because it's not music from the friggin eighties, there is that.

Except that, for the most part, they sound like photocopies of something he recorded in the friggin' eighties. Listening to Prince today is only fun when you set your mind in oblivion mode and pretend you hear his gimmicks for the first time. Which is doable, I try it from time to time and even get to appreciate stuff like 20Ten.
But year after year we read in interviews how this is the best thing he ever did, that he never felt better, and I'm glad for him, but hey SKipper, didn't you notice?
The audiences they are a yawning.

Still, I'm baffled by the spirit he puts into it. For that, he gets my love. The man is always passionate about his craft. HnR pt. II has some beautiful moments, I'm glad R'n'R Love Affair got the Jimmy Kimmel appearance treatment on its final version.
But that's a bit scary. He seems to be utterly passionate about not much.

He paints the same paintings again and again, he's polishing the same sculptures again and again. Of course it's not easy to reinvent yourself after having recorded so much for so long. But there are still styles and genres for him to explore, but what's more, interesting musicians to work with.
I think what we vomiters are only concerned with is this unique talent being wasted in collaborating only with people who are going to do another version of an already released Prince's song, whether on vocals or production.
This autarcy is senseless, and the public knows it, and doesn't care anymore.

I don't mind hearing rehashes, but at least let him have rehash "All My Dreams" or "Wonderful Ass", and not that stupid "Extraloveable", which was studio junk in the first place, and still is : stupid chords progression, stupid hysterical vocals, no melody, no hooks we haven't heard before.
The whole thing sounds like a paranoid cocaine addict having a bad trip.
He just made it more mellow, and, frankly, old : music that doesn't hurt or provoke thoughts.

"People tell me I got no taste".
Well, I don't know what to tell you, Skipper, except this : Warner Bros followed you all the way into "Love Symbol", "Carmen Electra" and other lunacies and losed a bunch of money.
People found you so laughable that they miss the second half of your career, and it's a pity because it was at least a real search for something you hadn't tried before.
When u was finally free, poor millionaire slave, musically it didn't mean that much.
Right the wrong, right on.

Oh, and since you don't seem to speak our language (I had to read the Ebony interview answers twice, three times, and still couldn't get what you were saying), what do you mean by "Galore"?

D'Angelo can play? I thought he was just the singer with the braids and moisturized lips.

Edit:
Vocals, piano, organ, keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, and saxophone??? No way! I'm gonna check him out!

What makes Wonderful Ass so much better than Extraloveable? I think they're quite similar.

I think you'll like him. He can't touch classic era Prince (say, 1980-1988...or even up to 1992). But Voodoo and Black Messiah are great albums. I'd dare to call them "m@SterPiEce$." And Brown Sugar is very strong too.

And if you ever have a chance to see him live, don't miss that opportunity. He and his band are stellar!

prince doesn't need ghostwriters like Angie Stone! Who was D'angelo's ghostwriter on the WHOLE "Brown Sugar" album.

I don't get the whole anti (or pro) d'angelo thing going on here. I love Prince, but I also loved Black Messiah. I bought it just because I wanted to see him live in Paris: Truned out I love that album and bought it on vinyl later.

It is possible to like Prince and other artists without it turning into a Prince Vs U2 Vs d'Angelo etc....

And? Did she do a bad job? I'm surprised you're dissing her since your master worked with her also (U Make My Sun Shine).

My New Years resolution for here is not to bad mouth D'angelo anymore or reveal anymore secrets. He is a great artist and learned from the BEST prince. EYE've been to ALL his tours and he blew me away EVERYTIME. Hopefully his health will improve to make another great album.

Now back to the topic of the MUSICAL GENIUS that Eye created this thread about...

So far I'm loving Voodoo. It has a nice laid back vibe to it that you can bump your head to.

I had no idea D'Angelo could play. Say, thanks!
