Agreed. And he screams instead of just letting the guitar scream. It's almost like he's the woman. Very overrated song

Not at all an example of the Prince that tries to be mysterious.

Traditionaly speaking, people buy Prince's albums, listen to them once and instantly regret the purchase. At least this time we will be pissing on JOSH's terrible music and it's on Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar to make the tracks hot. Prince's ego can take a break from the blame game. Maybe this album will be successful enough that Prince can allow Jay-Z more creative control for the next project and we may get some hot music at that point.

I can't blame you for being cynical, the guy did release his share of subpar albums, yet outside of the Hannah songs on PLEL, his recent output has been surprisingly good.

I guess we'll soon see if the album is worthy, decent or terrible.

The reporter is certainly having a bit of fun with the Prince/Welton romance: For example: "Welton.. came in through the back door." Or try this: "Welton found himself thrust into the producer’s chair". How about: "Now he tries to make a lot of noise coming in, so I have some warning!” Let's try: "He points over at Prince’s paddle, which no one else is allowed to touch". Oh, and this one too: “I’ve never seen [Prince] ride it". Funny.

Ha, glad to see somebody else noticed. But the title is the most SCANDALOUS of all: "What's Really Going On With Prince And His 25 Year Old Muse".

All I got from it was a lot of words literally saying nothing. It's the same ole same old. I think Prince is still living in the 80's because his interviews are all the same, where he thinks people are still into his antics of being ghostlike, how good he is at ping pong, his spirituality, and his ramblings about how he feels about music, trying to sound as if he's the most wise, intelligent person to ever walk the earth. In reality, it's all getting kind of sad, because he's just getting older and so is his audience, and most, such as myself, have grown up, and no longer find his antics "cute" or think that he hung the moon anymore. I think that Prince is trying to live precariously through this guy Josh, because like someone said, he still wishes that he was 25. Well, you're not anymore Prince, and it's a fact you should face and accept. None of us will never get back our years gone by, and we won't get any younger.

So if someone older works with someone younger or if someone younger works with someone older, they're trying to mentally be younger/older? That has always been the case, knowledge has always been passed on and creative types have benefited from working with experienced types and vice versa, feeling some youth or experience contact high is part of the learning and knowledge transfer process.

“I’m not interested in what happened yesterday,”

.

Whahahaahahah!!!

Says the man who plays 80%+ of hits.

.

"To me, time folds back on itself.”

.

So he goes back in time without being interested in it.

.

There's not so much news in the article, not even a thorough excuse to his choice of 'producer' except religion.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Yes, both albums were so great Prince couldn't be arsed to promote them, can't be arsed to play the songs live, and was already hyping newer product in one of the few promotional efforts he undertook.

.

Meanwhile his concerts consist of 80% music he recorded three decades ago.

yawn

You always have that argument that he doesn't play his new songs much live, so by your simplistic logic, he doesn't like his new songs much or they're no good. Then he plays something like When I Lay My Hands on You at Montreux -- years after it was released and barely promoted.

He plays the hits to keep casual fans happy and because his new songs are not well known outside of the hardcore base.

What are you talking about here?

Prince said there will be various versions of his new music, with Jay-Z and Kendric Lamar free to make their own versions of his tracks. So it's on Jay and Kendric then to flip his new shit into hit material, if Prince's version isn't all that. I'm cool with that. I would like it even better if Prince would go into the studio with Jay, Kanye, Rhianna, Just Blaze, Pharrell and let them write hooks around his riffs. It's worked out just fine for Paul McCartney and Nile Rodgers to collaborate in that way.

Speak for yourself. If you told me someone continually did something but hated doing it yet they still did it and obsessed about complaining about it on the internet, I'd tell you that person perhaps has a few screws loose.
