The Most Beautiful Girl in the World is mixed differently on The Gold Experience than it was as an official single the year before.

And, he's done the same thing with other songs on his albums.


My main concern is that he not sequence 5 or 6 slow jams in a row like he did on AOA. I can't listen to that many slow songs in a row.

Any new music will be great to receive obviously, but it seems there is less and less planning involved when it comes to Prince's new albums, projects, marketing, tours etc. It all seems so random and communicated prematurely. There might be something behind this, maybe he can just release albums on a whim now with WB and Kobalt in place?

Or perhaps that's what he's been up to this year.

Either way, I love it when he's giong to quickly to be bothered with what

he just released.

What I hate is when he releases something, then immediately forgets

about it, yet there's no followup for several years (like that bigass gap

between 2010 and 2014).

How is it that someone not liking Hannah or Josh's musical contributions means that person is "jealous of the opportunities" that they have with Prince? That's some bizarre, magical thinking right there.

While I think that PlectrumElectrum is easily the worst album Prince has ever released and it's definitely the one that I've listened to the least (although I like Wow! and Another Love, and Marz is a decent two minutes of silliness), I gained a lot of respect for 3rdEyeGirl as a live band a few months ago in Louisville. They were much more vibrant and exciting than the last several iterations of the NPG that I saw live, who were increasingly schlocky and (worse still) dull.

So I would absolutely drop everything and do what I had to do in order to see Prince and 3rdEyeGirl play live again, as long as it was in a smallish venue (arenas suck). And Hannah seems like a really sweet girl...but her voice makes me so, so angry. What makes me even more angry is that some people on here say shit like, "She has an alternative rock voice, that's the kind of voice you're supposed to have when you sing alternative rock," as if they have any clue what the fuck they're talking about. Not only does she not have a technically good (or even minimally proficient) singing voice....she also has no presence, no character, no anything. It's just a flat, thin, "I was only asked to do this because I'm pretty and young and I'm blond and believe in God" voice.

Having said all that, I'm certainly not jealous of her opportunities with Prince. I don't play any instruments, let alone the drums, and I have no plan to join a band with Prince anytime soon.

What exactly was the news that his band brought us? New music ocming up sometime?

As if we didn't know that before the announcement: each and every 'retiring!' thing was fake or untrue after a while.

P is continually recording, even if he is performing live. (we can't say he is on tour any longer now that he is doing the 'hits and ruin' routine only)

So we 'know' that sometime (may be this year but do not be shocked if it is Q2 of 2016) an album will drop, via some distrubutor, some label, in some format.

Yes, that shows the amount of commitment, amount of care, amount of understanding that P has imprinted onto the folks that think.
