If he album sucks, I'm claiming the comment "Yeah, more like SHIT N Run!" right now. Nobody else is allowed to say it. Thanks.
Okay, but if we end up liking it, I'm claiming "Hit and Fun"! biggrin

Either way it goes, I'm calling it 'Tits & Buns.'

I'm a fan of the music but not of the childish hype that surrounds it. Hanna speaking on behalf of this new album sounds like a child trying to prove Santa exists - like she knows she needs to talk it up but can't put logic to it. Instead, she throws out every possible description that anyone with any interest in Prince could have.
.
It's full of hits (hardcore fans just want a good album and Prince himself has bemoaned "hits" and the hit making process for years)
.
It's experimental (which hit albums rarely are)
.
It's for the Purple Army (it's too weird for casual listeners)
.
It's ready now and we hope everyone can hear it (if getting it out was the primary concern, it'd be out already)
.
I hope it surfaces soon and I'll gladly buy it but MAN does the process and promotion seem so infantile? Record an album, get a release plan together and then announce it. Prince's music has matured over his career but the marketing of the music continues to devolve. He deserves better.
.
I love that there's the possibility of new music soon and that's great news. The details provided so far are just a nuisance and not very enlightening, that's all.

When you see Prince on tour for one date, there's no reason to see another in a different town because you always get The Same Show.

are you kidding? It may be similar set lists but the songs are played differently... the only time it was the same show was for Purple Rain Tour or the Lovesexy tour that had so many theatrics

With all due respect, that's bollocks! Some bands change their set list every night, most bands don't. Prince, dependant on the tour, may or may not play the same set every night...but I'd argue he mixes it up more than most. Also, the same songs every night doesn't necessarily mean the same show every night....so, you're wrong, no need to apologise, we all make mistakes, love and hugs!

If you guys say so. Maybe you caught him on an experimental night.

.

I saw Purple Rain tour twice. Same show. Musicolocgy, Hit N Run 2000 and One Nite Alone were almost identical. Saw each of those twice. The recordings I've seen from these shows are mostly the same too. You might get a couple different ones in there but I'll stand by what I said.

.

I'm off topic so I'll leave it there.

Please see the video below.

If P were to do a 'hits and ruin' album (I claim this name to my fame!) using this gear it would be 'very experimental' and 'his newest since Sign of the Times' and such.

.

Please watch and enjoy.

Please comment.

Totally. She sounds like a David Koresh follower or something. A little, well, OFF.

The "hit after hit" thing is just lame. It reeks of desperation. And this is like Babe Ruth calling his hit or whatever. I'm tired as hell so maybe this makes no sense.

It is a british radio show, she is a presenter, someone posted on facebook this morning that there was a discussion about the new album on her show today. But she posted that it was now on 8th of august with 3rdeyegirl joining her. This opens up a few questions ofcourse. Is it just a phone interview or are they going to be there. And is that the week it is being planned to release it.

No August 8th is not the release date.
August 8th is when the announcement will be made
that something BIG is coming soon.!

I'd love it to be out next month but I also won't hold my breath. How many times has stuff been delayed or never seen the light of day (PR 30, remasters). Even with Plectrum Electrum how long were they talking it up before it got released.

Jeez i thought i was harsh. Calm down, she is showing a little enthusiasm . She is a drummer after all. I dont like her bible bashing among other things but she seems like she means well. Like i think i have said somewhere else. Her taste in music seems abit crap. (soft rock) the hit after hit comment worrys me in that respect. But lets not forget who the boss is! And it will come down to him.

.
I think the point is that Hanna shouldn't be the PR mouthpiece because of her level of maturity, not that she's more immature than her peers. I would defend her by saying I think she's put into a role that she's eager to fill but for which she's just not a good fit.
.
I'll stick with my assessment of Hanna: Great spirit, average drummer, below average vocalist and spokeswoman.

It's no secret Prince thinks the industry as a whole is set up for artists like him to NOT chart.

So he's writing what he thinks should be a hit if the system were not broken. That's why on the one hand, the album is "full of hits" and on the other hand, it's for the hardcore fans.

It should be a hit with them -- us. Hits could be us.

She could have skipped "Super hardcore Prince fan" "It's super experimental" "Super funky" "Hit after hit" "There's so many hits on this album" "Purple prince army" for example and talk normal for once.
