prince is only human! Running a learn as U go, multi million dollar busness, had 2 b VERY stressful 4 the little guy. But gifting us the MEGA, One Night Alone boxset, MORE than made up 4 his wishful promises, from his brilliant over achieving mind.

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

How is it "gifting" when we paid $100 for a yearly membership that promised 4 new CDs of unheard material?

Note before you read: Sorry to women if I sound sexist. If I do I completely don't mean it that way and I do not wish to cause any harm to anyone. I just thought of it this way, This situation with not releasing the remaster is like a relationship going through hard times between a man and his girl.. The girl wants a nice beautiful necklace. But the man has bigger issues on his mind and can't please his wife with the pricey necklace but at the same time he gives her love, a house and food on the table to keep her happy enough to still enjoy being around him (new albums, listening parties at PP and concerts in this situation). He also realizes that if he gives his girl that necklace.. He knows her too well.. He knows that she won't be completely satisfied with it after all when she gets it... Ok, Sorry again that it sounds sexist but I thought this was the only analogy I could think of at the moment..

Perfect!

And it has nothing to do with gender at all, either.

Prost!

yeah, the ship sailed and it was called 2014 and it sailed in 2014, so NO

I seriously think he doesn't want the remasters done because of his current RELIGIOUS views, for real, I'm sure Prince is not keen on the idea of the covers of albums like Dirty Mind or LoveSexy on the front row of Wal-Mart

or the lyrics of Controversy suddenly current again...

Prince wants his past buried, period, or at least 85% of it

I think Databank has it about right. Prince and WB signed a contract, that much we know. We also know that the contract entailed releasing a new album and a PR remaster with unheard songs included. We also know that Prince would get his masters back as and when a remaster was released.

Now the speculation bit: It appears that Prince already has ownership of his masters which isnt quite what was expected. And WB would not have signed a contract to give Prince all his maters back with only PE and AOA in return. So I expect, as Databank has speculated, that WB have handed Prince his masters, but Prince cannot do anything with them because WB have retained the licensing rights. And, as per the contract, Prince will only get those rights back once a remaster has been released.

So now we have a case where we have a stalemate. The contract has not been broken but it hasnt been concluded either. Prince got what he wanted but can do nothing with what he got, WB gave Prince what they promised but kept/renewed/extended the part that woud make both parties some money. No one has lost, yet. But no one has gained either. In fact, if this is true, WB have been very clever because they have prevented an expensive legal battle with Prince over the masters and have signed a new deal giving them the rights to licensing. So Prince is no better off in real terms and WB have extended their right to make money from his WB catalogue at least one more time.

Either way. the only losers in this debacle are the fans.... as per fucking usual. Prince will be happy that on paper he owns his masters, even though he can do fuck all with them. So I can easily see him saying no remasters will be released just to spite WB. In the meantime, WB can just sit back and wait until one day Prince wants to release his WB material again. Meanwhile the fanbase decreases, old fans will die, WB will go into liquidation, Prince will die and the music will be lost and forgotten.

"Prince who?" will be the response to the question, "have you heard any Prince music?" Followed by, "whats his real name?" Followed by, "I cant find any trace of him on the internet, are you sure he was real?. I can find Prince Buster, Prince Far I, Fresh Prince but no Prince"...... Oh, wait.... thats happening already. lol

That's the truth, the whole truth, and nuthin' but the truth.

Prost!

Do you think Price used WB?

He says he is on board with the remaster BUT first you have to release AOA and PE.

They do and he says thanks and walks away.

Just take a gander at the cover of 'Art Official Age'.

He's a prankster!

(IMHO)

I think he directed that artwork just for shits 'n' giggles and then purposely had that sparrow host the Yahoo! launch party for his own amusement.

He had to have known it was crap, right? lol

It's a never-ending train wreck.

Mr. Nelson must read this stuff we write, right?

There were four albums listed:

Last December

The Very Best Of prince

I was so looking forward to getting four different albums, but instead we only got a pretty good album and three (edited) live performance CDs.

These albums were also used to encourage new memberships for the coming year of the NPG Music Club. Instead, we got that bland live album & piano demos & when I wrote a letter to complain about it, I got a response (from Prince's legal team at the time, no less - which were apparently serving as the fan club's customer service) essentially stating that what Prince chooses to release is entirely within his purview. That is all well & good, however, when he advertises specific content is forthcoming in an attempt to drum up membership, it's a bit more murky. He long ago set the standard on classless business dealings & anyone who expects anything better of him is playing a fool's game.

Don't forget the Madhouse '24' album that was also promised in the initial NPMC promo.

'the black album'

'Milk And Honey'

"...2013 will be huge..." (thanked the fans and let on that something was coming)

"Partyman" video text:"...2 b continued"

IMHO

it was always there.

never consistant and always against the grain.

I'm not a kid anymore, though.

It's me, then, i guess.

Disappointed if this never appears but I'll live.

We've still got the album, the extended remixes, b-sides to listen to. Just would be nice to have it all (and maybe some extras on a nice re-release) cool

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Of course, by the time we get a remastered Dirty Mind or LoveSexy from Prince, it will be cleaned up and won't need a "parental advisory" sticker anymore... shrug

I don't understand the meaning of this topic...I already posted here months ago (we were in 2014) that WB didn't plan anymore to release PR 30, mostly because Prince didn't want to get involved in the promotion.

And I was treated like shit by some trolls like REBELJUICE "how could you know bla bla bla" "you're just a hater bla bla bla" lol

lol where are these guys now ? It would be funny to know what they are thinking now it was clear from the start I was right, once again.

Prince's career on the charts is over, like I said before (and once again I was treated like shit) because :

1. Nobody would be so crazy to sign a contract with him

2. the new Billboard chart rules prevent him from being on it. Yes. Look what happened to the new album of Madonna...And yes i predicted that too, against most troll here who said the change of rule won't change anything. So why would they change it ?eek It's boring to see some people doesn't think how absued their posts are, and attack you in the first degree because you're talking about serious things and not "which album/songs do you hate/prefer", etc.

In fact, it's not hard to get some good sense, I'm not an oracle at all. PR was released in 1984. Just take a look at a fucking calendar, and you will see it's now 31 years, not 30.

Wanna know what I think? I think you may have gotten lucky with your guess work and, your opinion based on zero facts, turned out to be right (probably). But it in no way negates my main gripe with you which was you were basing your opinion on speculation which you were parading as fact. And I will maintain that you still have zero facts pertaining to anything regarding this issue. You speculated, you guessed and it turned out to be a good call. Not difficult knowing Prince's history. But statements like "such and such is a fact...", "its a fact that this and that...", "Prince will/wont. Fact!" remain nonsensical. My point stands. Look at your last post. You are still going on about how much you know.

As for calling me a troll. very funny... Now, move along. Thanks.

Oh, and I just checked the fucking calendar. It will be 31 years in June.

No disrespect intended, but it's going to take more than the word of a self-professed "NPG Minister of Propaganga #STREET TEAM" for me to believe the remasters are coming. It's been 13 months since the remasters was announced via a press statement from Warner Bros and Prince. It's wishful thinking or at the very least hopeful optimism.

I wonder if he'll try to deliver a bare bones remaster to WB, and then within the following year, follow it up with an independently released Deluxe Edition, wherein he receives his coveted, "lion's share."

He can't seem to finish anything.

So even if he intends a 'Deluxe Edition', it most likely would never see the light of day.

Point taken, but how many projects have been announced, promised, alluded to, etc. that never saw the light of day?

And certain things that were released, seem like they were not exactly finished. ('20ten' for example, again with talk of a '20ten Deluxe' that was apparently never completed, or if it was--it was shelved.)

And those projects were finished due to his inability to "finish anything"? Or is it more likely that they were shelved due to artistic considerations? Or maybe also due to Prince's mercurial nature (which is quite different from being unable to finish anything - his spontaneity also gave us "Lovesexy", for instance)?

lol good to know you're still here.

You can't always say I was lucky here, lucky there...This is not only good guessing. There was no way WB would release PR after the actual 30 th anniversary, and above all now way they would release it without Prince's involvement. That's the same thing for every artist in the music industry.

Weeks before the double release of AOA and PLEC, it was obvious there was already clearly a problem (no music video, no tv performances, no tour planned etc.)

So, if you knew 2015 would be the 31 th anniversary, why did you still believe weeks ago PR 30 could still be a possibility ?
