I went to a Jimmy Fallon taping on standby last year, because I found out the Foo Fighters and Roger Waters would be doing a song together (which was awesome, by the way).

The deal for standby is that you line up in front of the building that morning and they give out tickets at 9 a.m. I got there about 7:45 a.m. and was number 8, I think. You don't know if you'll get in until the last minute. I did, but some people behind me didn't. If you're in NYC that day, I'd say it's worth a shot.

I think medleys are largely responsible for my lack of interest in much of Prince's recent live performances (the other main culprit being covers).

I totally agree. I don't think anyone needs to be reminded that Prince is the guy that sang "Purple Rain" and "Let's Go Crazy." Bring on something new in full!

?uestlove must be boiling in jealousy and rage if Prince chooses to have Hannah on drums over him and he has to watch it from the sidelines.

Since Prince is playing two songs, this would be a cool opportunity to play one song with Donna, Ida and Hannah and the second performance with Andrew Gouche, RBJ and his horn section. Then as a bonus, jam with The Roots for an off-air performance to be posted online the next day. Either way, Prince is going to do his thing.

Hope it's a good version of Breakfast Can Wait and maybe the Boyfriend song. Some of these other songs sound like ANYONE could have made them up.

Maybe that's the point? He's trying to kill Prince associations with his sound on something like Screwdriver? To bad some of those associations are innovative arrangement, and creative structure, and a sound like no other!

I do think Breakfast Can Wait, Boyfriend, That Girl Thang are on point.

CLARIFICATION: Hahaha..I don't really like medleys, because I do agree that it gets in the way of FULL song. I rather hear a full song any day, than a medley of something that cuts off too short. I don't know what I was thinking when I made this original post. LOL. I was trying to say, I hope he performs more than one song, now it is confirmed he will perform two! A medley is different from a whole performance, I don't know what made me assume it was. lol. AND GOSH NO! No covers, I really don't want that! He has too many songs for covers, IMO. Obviously, he likes singing some covers, but just think about all of those tracks he has made over the years and never performed ever!?
