He's on the right direction for me. Good music, great performance... And he's aging gracefully, like good wine wink I must confess I was afraid that, when he took his glasses off, I would see botox all around lol he looks sooo good!

Poor guitar, though confused

Am I the only one not gushing over that performance? Sounded off to me. Prince was not fully there and not his usual playful self. The band needs more live performances together to work out the kinks. Or maybe it's just me, been butterflyed stomach all day.??

it's not just you. I like what he's going for with this band. I like the energy. They do rock the fuck out.

but they aren't gelling as a band. they need more practice. none of them is listening to what anyone else is playing or even playing at the same tempo at certain points.

Yeah, it's popular right now, but when I see it I think of Cyndi Lauper:

The reason I don't think of Cyndi or modern shaved hair cuts at all is because they never worked with Prince. I don't think the hair cut was just due to popularity or happenstance

I definitely think PRince is trying to recapture a certain visual brand and essence.

I'd like to know if Donna had that hair cut before joining Prince or if Prince instructed her to get it.....

Very curious.

I agree, good energy. You could tell he wasn't happy with something be it sound or guitar issues or whatever. But you would think as long as Prince has been doing this he wouldn't "exit" the building at the first sign of trouble. At the end, Even the rest of the band were like wtf?!? I guess they better get used to it.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I don't own a tv (personal choice) but a buddy of mine just emailed me and said.....

"Prince is playing....fuck"

then he said " Unreal. Played screw driver. fuck. He goes from srv finesse to New York dolls grind all in one tune.

Threw his guitar up in the air at the end and walked off....it started feedbacking really bad...it was so loud, Fallon had difficulty signing off."

My buddy is quite an accomplished guitar player. He's into roots music and stuff. Clearly he's impressed.

That was pretty decent. I am not wild about his sneering "screw" diction. Trying to be rude again, I suppose.

He really looks like he is channeling Jimi, right down to the curly guitar cables and the double kick drum (totally unnecessary these days). And of course, his look. The hair, the bell bottoms. He's not wearing makeup (good idea). That poor person's guitar that he broke looked a little like a white Strat (it wasn't), and it was up high like Jimi wore his.

Have to say, I liked Bambi better. I enjoy the recording of Screwdriver, but live it's not my favorite.

I don't think I would be into a whole show or album like this. But still, I think that is what he should do. He is way all over the place presenting Breakfast Can Wait along with Screwdriver. Some focus would be nice. And I actually like Rock & Roll Love Affair after listening to the download in my car. So a full album would not have to be all screechy guitars. Just a proper rock album might be nice.

He's just now playing where I am. First thing I thought as the camera found him was, "Okay, now he's doing this blindfolded."

Always knew he could.

Bambi...kick ass as always.

That was frikkin awesome. The band sounded great, and he still looks and sounds amazing. The only thing that could have made that even better was a Linn drum machine.

I'm over this 3rd eye girl band. I'm just gonna come out and say it...they suck. That's right I said it third eye girl sucks. bringiton Anyways Screwdriver was lousy. Bambi was better. Lastly, I'm just going to say that all I ask is that Prince ditch these girls and release an album. PLEASE. I dont give a flying fuck about ida donna and hannah all I want is a Prince album!! Just Prince.

Nah, it's more of a late-70s, early-80s look. An era he himself was a part of too.

I dunno...Obviously it's not a complete Jimi ripoff. He's too stylish for that. But late-era Jimi is not too far off
