If you created an account with 3rdeyegirl, go to the site, click MY ACCOUNT, this should lead you to a list of your available downloads. Be sure to right click and save on the download link, unless you're on a MAC, and then, I dunno...

Yes indeed...release another version so the fams can pay another $0.88 for damn near the same thing. Labeling this as a "demo" will be reasoning for charging twice for the same thing. There are many here who would love to give him ANY amount of money, as long as it ultimately goes to Paisley Park Enterprises. disbelief

I hear you but screwdriver and screwdriver remix are different enough. Same with rnr affair and remix 7. I've already had $.88 value from boyfriend demo, so if an alternate appears I'll lap it up.

I wouldn't give any amount of money but it's 88 friggin cents, 56p in real money. I can't park in town to go shopping for 56p. I can't buy a chocolate bar for 56p. I can't buy a can of soda for 56p. A portion of chips, (fries), forget about it. It probably costs more than 56p just to start my bleeding car with the cost of petrol today ffs!

What the hell can I do for 56p? Oh hang on, I can buy a pint of milk. Well fuck you Prince, you rip off merchant, charging more than a pint of milk, fucking outrageous.

Yes, I know you're being a smart ass, but it's NOT about the price, and it NEVER has been. It's the principle of the matter. It could be just be $0.01, and it'd still be too much for the substandard quality of product he's putting out there. And because of that, I refuse to give him my money for stuff like this and will continue to use "alternate methods" of receiving this material.

Hell, with your rationale, if he charged $5.00, it'd be okay to some of you because $5 won't make or break someone. "Hey, you can't even buy 2 gallons of gas for your car for $5." Most of you here would probably pay that amount for a recording of him taking a shit for 3 minutes (which he has essentially already done with this "Boyfriend" track, mind you) and then tout it as, "Who else out there is doing something that avant-garde?? What a genius! You guys are just HATERS if you don't see the genius in that track, and just think, he's nearly 55 and STILL recording!! We MUST fawn over him!"

Well, I did say I wouldn't pay any amount, so with my rationale $5 per track would be too much, even though 2 gallons of petrol costs the equivalent of about $19 over here. I guess you also missed my complaining about the quality of some of the downloads offered. No fawning here.

But that aside I've loved the new stuff and don't think it's sub standard at all. If the material is so bad, why do you even bother with 'alternate' methods of getting it? There must be some value in it if you keep searching it out. There's only one conclusion, you're a tight fisted thief. If it's that bad why bother at all?

One question. If you got a new track through alternate means and liked it, would you then go to 3rdeye and buy it?

I call hypocrite on this one

I f you don't like said track(s) - don't bother with them

If you intend to d/load the files you claim to not like - buy them, and support the artist

This material is officially released - why illegally d/load stuff you calim is 'substandard' - I wouldn't bother - then could relate to your argument. But the fact you've stolen it makes your argument lame

If you're on a mac (as I am), if you click on the file, it simply starts downloading it to your desktop.

But beware, iPad users: if you open the file, a player opens in a new window so you can listen to it. But that counts as one of your downloads, as I found out myself.

I think I have to agree with the flac for dummies argument now.

People go visit a site purchase music and the completely miss the facilities to download the music after payment.

Is the site bad?

Were the users distracted and/or sleepy?

This thread starts to look like an interwebz for dummies help forum in 1996, and even then most people had caught on.

So please explain how this can happen; I am quite confused.

still, it's a nice track, i like it but it's not really special or nothing. the main things i keep

hearing when i listen to it is a slowed down rhythm track to Tamar's "holla & shout".

Has anyone spotted an email contact address?

I ordered Boyfriend Demo, I have the paypal reciept but instead of me getting a download option, I got a single play on screen and now my account page shows no record of me having ordered and paid for it.

Haven't got a issue if they had a glitch and could put it right, but I can't find anywhere to raise the problem. Am I missing something?

UPDATE: Spotted the email address for download issues......I'll see what happens.....

From the F.A.Q.S page:

3rdeyegirl@gmail.com

(wow, shocked they haven't set up @3rdeyegirl addresses instead of depending on google mail. guess they haven't read that page in the how-to manual yet)

edit: see you found it!

There really needs to be a preview button for these songs. Every time I've bought songs online, I preview them first. I don't care how much it is, I want to hear at least a snippet first. After a couple of days, I finally managed to hear the song somewhere else. No thanks. If I liked it, I could easily grap the audio from the video, but I would have legally bought it. I didn't do either. I listened to it a few times. It just doesn't grab me. Also, I don't really get into all these songs about sex. It's fine to have pop song about it, but I just think his latest releases sound very immature. It's not appealing to me in the least. That's my OPINION, no need to tell me how wrong I am.

That requires an MX-record plus at least one email server accepting your mail, preferrably two.

Also you should be able to get to the mail somehow.

Please share the 3rdeyegirl.com email wisdom so we can all email them in case of doubts and problems.

I"m not sure what you're asking me to say... it doesn't require too much wisdom. Changing MX records can be done in 60 seconds and any hosting company will allow clients to set up email addresses on its servers. As an alternative, since they love Google so much, they can use Google business apps to set up the .com email addresses, which is what I do for all my domains. I'm not even a tech geek by any stretch of the imagination and set up my own domain email addresses.

So now this morning there is something called "Boyfriend Demo" up on the site? I missed out on the regular Boyfriend track so now if I download this I have no idea if it is the same or a stipped down version. neutral

Ok just downloaded it and listened - the Boyfriend Demo is 3:08 in length and seems a little short - is that the same length of the original Boyfriend download?

Yes, they are exactly the same. In Prince land, the word "demo" really has very little meaning.

Well here's my OPINION:

To the point of a preview, sure, it would be nice, but...

Back in the day when I was a young'un and went to the record store (remember those) to buy music, I didn't get any previews. I would have my hard earned allowance that I saved from weeks of doing chores and could pick 1 album (cassette usually). All I had to go on was album covers and whatever single might be on the radio. My money was more limited than it is now and albums were more expensive than these singles but I still bought them.

To the point of "all these songs about sex". You do know this is Prince, right? wink

Back when the Dutch Free Record Shop actually sold any music and still had vinyl they usually had a record player and later of course a CD-pplayer to check out a record.

Was that not so common where you live?
