Actually, Prince would not have said that. The more ambiguous, the better for Prince.

Prince could have said, "Bambi, it's better with a man." in a much clearer, less ambiguous way. But, he didn't.

I think Prince has implied these homo-erotic themes several times in his early career.

He's never come all out and said it---just gave his auidence enough to ponder.

You are right, he seems to be hypocritical but I see it as a manifestation of his insanity insecurity.

Now I love that song and even as a gay man, I know how much Prince loves the ladies, but there some Ambiguous ass lyrix in that song. Dosen't matter, because it is perfection to me.
