I inferred that from this sentence:

If you think people calling Prince a bastard (somebody has) is normal, then I think defending Prince on it is normal.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Too bad there's a statute of limitations, because Warner Bros. could hop on the bandwagon and sue the fuck out of him for all the projects/albums he's derailed throughout his career. LMAO!!

Oh, this is too rich! A decent portion of that loot he made during his tour this year? Easy come, easy go. Hope he was at least able to draw some interest on it while it temporarily sat his bank account. lol I'm glad he's been getting his comeuppance on stuff like this lately. I'm hoping it'll snap his ass back into reality and start to do business with a little more sense. But, I HIGHLY doubt it. wink

Dude get a life you are much too invested in P's business affairs.

And you're posting in a thread (multiple times, mind you) about his business affairs for what purpose again?

On July 7th, 2007 waiting in the hot sun outside first avenue, the head of the company came around giving out free samples. i asked him how it's been working with Prince. And he said "just great" and i almost told him, "Yeah, just wait...."

this is good news for Prince fans. How could it be bad? what do you care if he's a bad business man? always has been, always will be. we'll get more concerts and more music because of this.

Prince should definitly pay. He obviously seriously neglected his contractual duties in this matter. Better yet: as far as I can tell now he didn't even bring in as a defense that he did do all promised to do.

So obbviously he would be liable. 4 million seems a little steep tho'. And one should remember that there isn't yet a final decision on this amount. That 4 million is just the amount the perfume company demanded for failing to perform his contratcual duties. Another arbiter would have to assess whether that is really the amount of damages they suffered.

Trem....out of interest, would you ever consider being Prince's lawyer? Maybe you could offer your services on a no win no fee basis, if you can argue this case then you'd probably be the best lawyer in the world!!

Oh, I think he does. You may not know the history here, but a few years ago Prince had his lawyers send cease and desist letters to get images of him taken down. The problems between Prince and his fans go back for decades.

It's astonishing how Prince's history is full of people who once ran fanmags (a hobby that consumes tons of time and money) and who ended up utterly disappointed. Time after time after time.

Good thing he has the money (we think). Prince has been ordered to cough up $3.95 million to Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. for hobbling its efforts to market a perfume after it had already liscened Prince’s name and and likeness and the album title “3121″ in 2006. The perfume launched in 2007 but Prince did not cooperate with the agreed-upon business deal and broke promises to help with promotions, said the company. Obviously, Prince’s litigation team are appealing the verdict.

This can only be good news. Every time he gets sued he whips out 12 or so tracks from The Vault and makes a quick deal with the Daily Bastard to give it away. We get another disc of goodies, his creditor gets paid off, he gets to disappear off the face of the Earth for 12 months. Until the next time.

Of course this makes the front page of a fan site. Barely anything positive about Prince gets a headline on a website dedicated to him. It's so stupid. It's the reason why I'm losing respect for this site and the people that run it. This site hardly has changed in years, the layouts stays the same, but when Prince has another lawsuit on him. A NEW FUCKING HEADLINE! It's bullshit.

Personally, I don't care about the whole thing. It's not my life, it's his problem and it's out of my hands. Of course people are going to go out of their way to call Prince an "idiot" and tell him "what he needs to do". I'm not his buisness partner, I'm a fan and all I can do is support him by wishing him the best. I hope everything works out with Prince.

Judge: Prince should pay $4M in NY perfume lawsuit

NEW YORK -- A New York court says Prince should pay almost $4 million to a perfume company that claimed he hobbled its efforts to market a perfume named for one of his albums.

A court referee recommended a roughly $3.95 million award last week. The award would have to be confirmed by another judge.

Prince's lawyer hasn't responded to phone and email messages left Friday. He told the New York Law Journal the "Purple Rain" singer and songwriter would fight to keep the suggested award from being confirmed.

Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. says it licensed the Minneapolis musician's name and likeness and the album title "3121" to market its fragrance in 2006. The Huntingdon Valley, Pa.-based company says Prince broke promises to help promote the scent after its July 2007 launch.

Oh dear Lord, I probably should have bought some of this stuff. But so many people kept saying it stank.... lol

Seriously though, Aside from the website with the funky kaleidescope, I can't even recall seeing any adverts in stores or in makeup sections. I went down to this perfume store in Florida, and they never even heard of it.

So I can agree that if you didn't keep a close ear or at least a random ear, you might not have heard about this perfume. He should pay for it 'cause the time to advertise it is long gone.

I am a long time Prince fan and I love him, but let's be real here.......the poster that spoke his mind about Prince, and was called a hater for it, is speaking nothing but the truth! Prince is becoming notorious for getting sued and being taken to court for not paying this bill or that one. It seems that every time that he is in the news now, it's about someone suing him for not paying this bill or that bill. It seems like the only way that Prince pays his bills is when someone drags him to court and sues him. It's been like that with him for a while now. It surprises me that anyone even bothers to do business with him, because he never seems to meet his obligations, and always pull some kind of stunt that winds up with someone suing him, because he changed his mind about this or that, and refuse to see through whatever it is he agreed to do. How many times has the man created a fan website and then abruptly shut it down, with no explanations whatsoever to the fans that love him, and paid their money to join the site? The same way that Prince has screwed over his fans, he's screwed over lots of others too! Face it, the man doesn't seem to be a reliable, trusthworthy businessman. He has screwed over a lot of people, including band members and others close to him. The fans have grown tired of being screwed over by Prince, and others have too! Prince may be a good artist, but he doesn't seem to be that good of a business man, as well as a person sometimes...........and that's the truth, like it or not!!!!

[Edited 9/4/11 18:30pm]

Prince has always been an artist that just cared about the music. I mean he did right the song. "Money Don't Matter 2night" "& it sure ddidn't matter yesterday" LEAVE HIM ALONE!

That's a lie and you know it! Did you ever try to join his fan website for free, or never paid for his cd's??? Money doesn't matter my Aunt Fannie! lol

It's still a pity that the guy's been touring the world all year and not a peep from the corporate media but this story is literally all over mainstream news.

When I turned on CBS news Saturday morning this is the first thing I saw even before it got posted here. I don't recall the last time I saw a story about Prince on CBS news. eek
