It appeared rather ignorant for Misty Copeland in her interview with Tavis Smiley to state she felt she was exposing to most of the people at Prince's concert the culture of ballet and to "People that have not seen ballet in their entire life." Well I don't know where she grew up but for her to make an assumption or imply that people who attend a Prince have not been exposed to ballet is a very condescending attitude. For her to stereotype concert attendees in that manner was very arrogant.

Additionally, during the Tavis interview she made comments such as she wants to inspire Black dancers to achieve dancing with "a dance company as prestigious as the American Ballet Theatre" and "a dance theatre of this caliber." It definitely gave the impression that dance companies such as the Dance Theatre of Harlem was not on "the level" (another phrase she threw out) of the American Ballet Theatre.

I will say this in summary. I definitely feel Misty Copeland is running a publicity campaign to take advantage of Prince's spotlight. I find it extremely sickening that she does not acknowledge who are the true pioneers in her field and at her young age of 29 appears to not have a clue of her own history or is trying to rewrite history to assist in her publicity. Based on my impressions of her public information and her interview, she appears to be someone who believes she is better than other people and will use anyone she has to for obtaining what she wants.

My impression is that Travis Smiley during his interview kept stating Prince's name to let her know in a diplomatic manner - she aint all that and the only reason she was most likely sitting on his show for an interview was because of Prince. Prince is an intelligent man and I am sure he is aware of the true motives of anyone who is around him.

Speaking for myself, I didn't see Turnitup's comment because I skip over all that long, repetitive and ridiculous back and forth about Misty's race.

Nursev's comments directly towards me repeatedly brought up Misty being African-American, and she asked if that "bothered" me. She was clearly trying to bring up a topic that is inflammatory and not relevent (at least to me), and I called her on it.

Misty Copeland is a beautiful and intelligent woman. Her interview on Tavis Smiley was excellent.

Prince looks ridiculously good for a 52 year old man (this is coming from a straight man).

The guy looks extremely young for his age and he still looks great. All I gotta say is that they make a great couple and good for you Prince!

they make such a big deal about the age difference but almost every women we know prince has dated has been much younger than him so i don't what's the big deal

I really don't think people on this thread understand my point. I am neither crazy or jealous and not Bria. I think the difference is when I see the picture posted I see Prince with a business associate where as several people on this thread are making other categorizations and therefore anyone stating anything in regards to her must be "caddy." If that is the world you live in then I guess that is your false impression.

I also have no idea what you are talking about regarding a cancelled Euro show unless you are referring to me posting the notification sent out by email advising everyone the show was cancelled. There was no statement made about the cancellation aside from letting everyone know it was officially cancelled.

Yeah, I don't think that first reference was directed completely at me, per se, other than she'd probably (and erroneously) already lumped me in with the 'haters'.

I was interested to know why she felt it necessary in her remark in post 112 to include the "who just happens to be AA" part in her description of Misty, followed immediately by another post with only the popcorn-eating emoticon and laughter (that was really what caused me to question her). Too many threads around here get wrecked by dumb and ugly fighting about race, and what she'd said, coupled with those two emoticons immediately following, at least gave the impression she was anticipating her comments to start something. I was curious as to why anybody would intentionally introduce that aspect into a thread. If I was mistaken in what she'd intended, I offer a public apology, although her later remarks seem to support my initial thoughts as to her motives.

But on to something else. About Prince's hair: is it just very slicked down onto his skull in these pics, or did he have some hair help in those photos of a week or so ago where he was with Barbara Streisand? Because his hair in those photos looked sooo much fuller than it does here.

I also like his gold boots. Only Prince can pull off sparkly gold boots!
