I may have liked it better if:

It had a better set, and wasn't so gloomy looking
It had Apples or some other hot chick in it rather than Ingrid
The back story between Prince and Jill wasn't so damned weak
They would have explained what happened after Purple Rain cuz clearly they aren't at First Avenue anymore or even in the vicinity
George Clinton would have had a larger role other than just being there.
Tevin Campbell wasn't in it. Seriously, why did we need Tevin and his mom Mavis who apparently live downtown in the midst of the nightlife? That's no place to raise a child.

there are so many things wrong with this film. it pains me. but not that much. lol

And that limo that Morris was riding in looked cheap.

Damn! All true WTF questions about this movie lol

Who cast Ingrid anyway? Cuz this was not the role for her falloff

I honestly think this movie role was some way for Prince to seduce her into the sack. Yep. To my knowledge Ingrid wasn't like those other tricks **cough**I mean proteges. She's got some brains about her and is not quick to drop the panties. that's just MHO.

This film should have just picked up where PR left off and it should have been written and directed by the same people. Prince was just feeling himself too much as a do it all kind of guy. Clearly there are some things he can't do. lol

Her role in GB was utterly useless and a waste of what little acting talent she possessed. I think Jill showed potential in PR, she just needed more training to expand on that potential. In GB, she was wasted and unnecessary and I don't know if maybe she was being poorly directed or if she was just a bad actress. Either way....Prince messed her up. He should have not had her as a love interest and had her remain his loyal crush or she should not have been in the film at all. She was a waitress at First Avenue so if there is no First Ave and no Billy Sparks then why is she with "the kid"? All these unexplained elements in the story line. GB just didn't flow very well.

^ p.s. that dance scene was worse exploitation of the female form than Apples showing her jugs in PR. At least there was a purpose to her showing her jugs. Jill just got up on stage in her bikini jeweled bottoms and started lip synching while doin' a sorry dance next to Jerome. lol

I feel bad for Jill. She has always been one of Prince's most loyal friends/associates yet when it comes to his movies, she always seemed to get the most insignificant roles. In 'Purple Rain',she played a waitress who had a crush on The Kid,but he was interested in another woman (Apollonia). In 'GB',she actually played his girlfriend this time, but he soon became interested in another woman (Aura).

Plus, despite her awesome talents as a vocalist, she never even got to perform a song in either movie! In 'GB',she gets one "big moment" to shine: lipsynching the first chorus of "Love Machine",which is soon lip-synched by Aura nuts The original vocals are by Elisa Fiorillo. It always seemed like Jill had to play second fiddle to other female proteges.Hell, even Robin Power gets to perform an orignal song in this film!

NO. It's bad. The music sequences are it's ONLY redeeming qualities! They might as well be just videos. I bought the DVD finally for $5 at Big Lots a few months ago and it's still bad. As a matter of fact I think I enjoyed it MORE when I was younger. As a grown adult it's REALLY bad! lol

With the exception of "Elephants And Flowers",I don't even think that the musical sequences are really exciting shrug

Since you're in Ft. Worth and I'm in Arlington we really should have a GB watching party! lol Me, I HATED IT! lol....The songs are dope though!! thumbs up!
[Edited 5/10/10 20:46pm]

Danny and NurseV - Let's do it! I'm in Dallas area and we can watch it on my big plasma complete with surround slamming sound. I have friends over for movie night several times a year.

PLUS, I’d like to add that I am good cook…I make yummy home made Mexican food. Here are a few pics of 2 different Taco Nights and Chicken Flautus Night I cooked up. Everything made with love from scratch! (minus the sour cream)

There are some outtakes of The Time performing a song, and a few other things. Never saw a hanging scene.

A great movie if u watch it in fast-forward mode and skipping all the "dialogue" parts lol there are some GREAT performances here and there (NPG, Elephants and Flowers, Love Machine, Release It, We Can Funk, Joy in Repetition, ... and that's all cool

I think there was waaay too much music for a movie this short (1 hour and 35 minutes if I'm not mistaken) Lame songs/performances like Tick Tick Bang, The Latest Fashion, Melody Cool were completely unnecessary...And the script is so bad that it's even scary... eek

but I like the ending: that annoying, stupid thing called Ingrid Chaves dies! biggrin Worst actress ever!

and I get a huge hard-on everytime Jill appears on the screen...oh yeah ph yeah mmmm jerkoff jerkoff her body alone is worth the price of admission...

I'd give the film 1,5 out of 5 stars biggrin

Okay yeah...I watched Graffiti Bridge again today and it's really not that bad falloff lol Prince's musical performances were actually pretty good lol but the acting done by Morris and Robin was just terrible falloff and Aura is kinda annoying, but the music scenes are actually good eek Yeah I said it lol I kinda liked it this time around lol What cha think?

why try?

I don't even want to do an era thread on this one, I have no excitement in doing one, but for the sake of history...

the fact that it was supposed to be a PR sequel, and no one from the Revolution nor most of the cast except for Prince & the Time & Jill, and she turned from a demure kitten to a panty dropping...(I respect her to much to say it) the Revolution being replaced by an unknown band, even the SOTT/Lovesexy band would have worked because they were at least known, with no visual excitement. the poor quality of using a studio to represent the real life street scene/night life/urban life, spacy Ingrid, where is Apollonia who you would die 4, the music can't touch Purple Rain,

The movie was just awful and even the music sequences were bad for the most part. I know Purple Rain was not all live recordings, but Computer Blue & Darling Nikki translated to First Avenue better than Elephants & Flowers & Shake did to Glam Slam.

The only song that really looked & felt live was New Power Generation
