The acting was the only part of the film that bothered me. I'm always at least a little bit shaken at domestic abuse scenes (just like rape scenes) no matter how bad the movie is. For some reason, Purple Rain has been the only exception.

The man's my favorite musician and I love aspects of his larger than life personality but he cannot act. Then again, neither can I.

Btw, I still love this movie. Just because it's not perfect doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching it.
