Yes, paying a whole 77 (or 99) cents to hear a song 4 and half months or so early is SUCH A RIP-OFF.

biggrin

I agree, how the fuck can people complain about 77cents or 99 if u aint a member ..... i like alot of people just had to download it .....

But the best way i can describe it is ..... UNMEMORABLE ,thats a perfect description ..... lets just hope that this is 1 of the lesser tracks!!

Just saw the video and am thinking i'm dense. I don't get it. Is he stalking her or something? Looks like they never meet or anything.

I will say Mia Maestro looks every bit as good in it as she does in Alias.

Yes indeedy a beautiful woman she is!! razz biggrin smile

What do the words "Te Amo Corazon" actually mean? I thought I'd find the answer in the 'official' thread for the song, but no!

This is being handled very professionally (NPGMC aside, although I agree their hands are tied to a certain extent).

Pretty song, slick production, whimsical 'vibe', admirable musicianship with a nod to George Benson when he brandishes the guitar. A few people have said this before, but to me it sounds a little bit like 'And God created Woman' with a Parade-era arrangement. And that's no bad thing.

So why all the hate? The song is obviously a marketable first single from a musician who has nothing to prove to anyone, least of all to excitable fanatics who think they alone have a connection with 'the funk'. Personally I'd much rather have Prince growing old gracefully. It's the latest instalment in a crazy and unpredictable ride that started with an unknown prodigy in 1978 and continues to baffle, fascinate, excite, provoke and irritate me in 2005.

Madonna is shamelessly prancing around, jumping onto 'trendy', transient bandwagons like an embarrassing drunken aunt who's gatecrashed your wedding and won't leave the dancefloor. Prince, as ever, sets his own agenda.

Bring on 3121. I've no idea what it's going to be like, but I can't wait to find out. All part of the ride.

Considering all the love the video itself is getting, I'm starting to wonder if he chose this as a first single based on the video more than the song. He's clearly recorded at least a couple of videos over the last year, and maybe the look of this one is more marketable than the others. Coupled with the fact that one big name, Salma Hayak, and one reasonably big name, Mia Maestro, are involved, this instantly draws more attention to the project.

I also wonder if him saying the sound is not indicative of the rest of the album is partly because he's seen a little criticism of the song over the 24 hours prior to the video release, and he's saying, in a nutshell, "if you don't like it, you should still buy the album, and of course if you do like it, you should buy the album too".

I asked on NPGMC about virtual b-sides. PP6's answer was:

As of now there are no plans 4 any additional tracks.

The video was beautiful to look at, I could almost smell it. The dancers were nice too. After viewing it a few times. I still was unable to connect with it of feel anything. I sort of understood the concept and then I was lost. They are there together? They are imagining each other? That's not him in the pool. Was he dreaming of her and she appeared, is she a maid or housekeeper or something... cool incense holder. He videotapes her while she gets stuff ready and then he watches on the wall? Can she see him? Or is she doing the same? imagining stuff while she prepares for him? There is a message of love I got that. But the melody...forgetable. hrmph

I think she sees him videotaping her, gets creeped out, and leaves - that's what he's watching and he 'caresses' her face right as she gets creeped out. That part made me very uncomfortable - like they were admiring each other from afar, but dirty old Prince turned his fantasy into something unhealthy and scared the woman away. I wonder how many times this has happened in real life...

I'll take any track from Musicology over te amor corazon. A matter of fact, it pains me to even write the words "te amor corazon"--what the hell, Prince singing spanish lovesongs?? I hope he's got some funk for us with 3121...i really hope, but i'm starting to doubt...

3 positive things about this song (despite not being a masterpiece)

1) it´s not embarassing musically. I was afraid it would be a lot more.

2) Prince is trying new directions his way (he is using different chord progressions of his usual songs, and the drum beat is almost brazilian in a way - Renato was showing him things?). He tried latin stuff before, but this time it seems musically more mature.

3) Prince still does some ´Prince´ things. For example, those effects on the guitar solo are something that I can´t imagine in a Phil Collins or Elton John song. He still does some things in his style.

I have interpeted the lyric to Te Amo Corazon:

At Forty-two thousand feet above the sea
That's when you and I first came to be
from the dust of the earth
and the knowledge tree

I’m old as dirt.

Te Amo Corazon - I think you’re hot

At last I can tell what I know so long
my heart's been crying I can sing this song
I don't care who knows it
cuz there's nothing wrong

You’re over 18 now, so I’m think I go for it.

Te Amo Corazon - I think you’re hot

I'm So Scared of losing you
I really don't know what I'd do
Can't bear the thought of another day apart
My heart, My Heart

It’s getting hard, my penis, my penis

Corazon
(Bridge)
Once when I first laid eyes on you
I saw heaven and earth anew
everyone else saw my brown eyes
no longer blue

I was lusting from the first time I saw you dusting.

Te Amo Corazon - I think you’re hot

First I couldn't find the words to say
How much you've changed me every way
I just want to thank ya'
each and every day

I’m not going to give up till I get in your panties,
but I have figure out how to do it with out getting charged with sexual harrasment.
Keep scrubbing my patio in a backless sundress.

Te Amo Corazon - I think you’re hot
