It's incredibly hateful when you are consistently punishing someone for behaviors for which they are far removed. These weren't interviews from the 80's or 90's, these are recent! Plastic surgery face recent. Hey for me gloves off when you speak that way about someone that's turned their life around. I can only imagine how difficult it was to break those habits! For her to insult her at every turn IS hateful!

Here are the interviews so it isn't just hearsay. Maybe you'll have a different interpretation. I guess for me it was so alarming because I thought they were friends.

Was she at PP around 2014? I wonder if she could sense something was wrong with Prince (if he was sick)? confused

Prince invited her as his guest June 28th 2014.She talked about it in her letter to him that was posted a few pages back. She said he told her then that This Could B Us was written about them. She posted the cover of the single on her FB the next day.June 22nd she posted a shot from When Doves Cry of her kissing his cheek and captioned it I Love U Forever. She was posting a lot about him that month. The posts are still on her timeline.

.

Interesting.

I thought it would be nice just to have a perspective that was a female friend as opposed to a lover. Too much ego/emotions get tied up in it, imo, when sex/intimacy is a part of the overall relationship.

I forgot that Vanity had written that.I remember reading that Prince and Apples spent the night together in a hotel room before the premiere of PR but it was made to sound like they were just friends. She posted an old photo on IG of she and her little dog Valentino and said that she used to make Prince laugh by having the dog jump through a tambourine. She said that she was "his clown" I don't mind her sharing light hearted stories like that.

That was nice of her to say those things about Denise & Prince.

She's so fake! It really seems like she hated Denise! In one interview she says she never knew her, only met her once (despite several pics together) and the Purple camp never discussed her after she left. In the second interview she shares a laugh about her drug addiction (which she brought up but the interviewer refers to as crawling on the floor looking for crack, with her giggling saying,"You said it not me") how people, mistaking her for Denise, were saying they'd heard she found Christ to which she says, "I never knew he was lost!" Actually I think she made that joke in two interviews. The third interview I watched (all on YouTube, all which sounds pretty recent) she really goes in when the interviewer asks how it felt to be playing someone else in the movie and in the music. She clarified she was nothing like her! She doesn't say things like "I need 7 inches or more" nor does the same things in her "personal life like drugs." Next she blamed Denise for her career difficulties because people wouldn't hire her because they thought SHE was on drugs or had heard she came to a meeting with a Bible and then wait... she proceeds to tell the interviewer how she had to get a RESTRAINING order against her! That she came to her house talking about Jesus and she was SCARED of her!!!! Some sisterhood!!!

Reminds me of how Vanity wrote in her diary about Apollonia and "her drinking problem" ...

That's interesting. To be fair I think being catapulted into fame would be a difficult thing to be thrusted into and maybe that was how she coped with the pressure. I genuinely hope she's ok. These posts she's been making are questionable but I hope she's getting whatever help or support she needs.

"Ditch" is hilarious though!

Who cares if you're the side chick or the main chick? He's still not being faithful to any, u know? Tough stuff. I think Jill was incredibly sexy and could've played the title role. I think he could've used her more in the film(s) but as fate would have it Apples was the lead and the film is what it is. And it is beautiful, indeed...

I'm not sure what Denise means by "ditch". That's usually a word that is used when you "ditch" someone (abandon them).

.

Ditch could also mean a hole in the ground.

.

Denise could have used that word as symbolic to mean that Apples let Prince into the ditch...hole...hell hole of her life........ lol

This is an extremely engrossing thread! As for Apples I will always have a soft spot for her. I thought she was perfect for the movie. Just incredibly beautiful and so feminine. She had a rare mix of sexiness and innocence similar to what Carmen Electra has. That being said I really don't know what she is like as a person but it is important to take into consideration the competitive environment they were in. And I think Denise really was in love with Prince but let's face it he was a Bad Boy back then sexy but a heartbreaker.

Yes. Prince and Denise were soulmates and all the other woman who came in and out of Prince's life had to compete with that fact -- that's a tall order. Prince never got over Denise. He left this earth just 2-months after she did. Their souls were aligned and their love is eternal.

There's no proof for that claim. And him dying 2 months after her doesn't really count. No one on this board is in the position to say who he really loved, or who he loved more or what affected him and what not. Because no one knew the man.

You state this like it's a fact, when it's just speculation.

No it's not lol sorry but you could view the lyrics differently, it's easy to see it as a song about The sacrifice of Jesus if you're a believer. No one knows if he ever got over Denise, because you don't know him or what his thoughts were. Some people just try to romanticise his death and try to link it with Denise's. Vanity might be the favourite woman for some fans, but that doesn't mean that she was his favourite.

I even doubt that he had his favourite woman, he just loved every woman he was with. And he made every single one feel special, that's one of the reasons why they still compete on who was the one. Ever thought of the possibility that no one was the one, because Prince wasn't the guy for just one woman?

I enjoyed the story she told in the Schkopi interview about Prince taking care of her at the purple house when she said she got sick after Lake Minnetonka.Cute thought of him giving her medicine, making her tea and raisin bread and cheese sandwiches. Also of him playing the piano for her and jumping from it imitating David Lee Roth. lol. I'd like to hear more stories like that.Vanity,Lisa and Stevie Nicks had similar stories.

For her to insult her at every turn IS hateful!
Here are the interviews so it isn't just hearsay. Maybe you'll have a different interpretation. I guess for me it was so alarming because I thought they were friends. https://youtu.be/CxoRVxtVvG8 https://youtu.be/jkDXWgDiMJY https://youtu.be/4eV-yHzA1sI This last interview is really long. She starts speaking about V at 14:00.

Thank you for the links Mona Liza

Prince in the concert he did the night Denise died said when singing The Ladder he loved her with a passion uncontested.

.

In that same concert Prince also begged God to bring her back home to him. . . we know now She was his Beautiful One.

.

I think he never got over her in a sense and I that does not discount anyone else.

I do not understand why there is something wrong that.

.

We know Purple Rain was about the Triple Threat Tour - Time/Vanity6/Prince

it was a special time. They will be an iconic couple for the ages once all the dust settles and all the books are written, It will be Prince and Vanity. It is how it goes and Providence put it in motion and their deaths sealed the deal.

.

I am not discounting anyone not the wives or girlfriends or anyone Prince spent time with.I am sure he loved them all and they all have a special story of their time with him. He married 2 women and had lasting relationships with others so I do not get the big deal of accepting that Denise had a unique place in his heart as he professed publicly in that tribute when he was not caring of his image and PR was not important during that concert.

Yes he payed tribute to her, but that doesn't mean that her death has anything to do with his. Was he sad? Of course, who wouldn't be sad? It's not that he hated her. But we can't say for sure if he would've felt the same if it happened to Sheila or one of the others.

I remember reading that he was also heartbroken over Kim Upsher's death. But that didn't kill him either.
