Who gives a damn what a tabloid said? These same tabloids also said Prince died of AIDS. Do you believe that too? Prince and Mayte have both denied it more than once. Get with it. Prince and Mayte were together until she asked him for a divorce.

When did this denial take place? I only remember Prince addresing his issues with M1 once in "The Paper" interview and he was not real nice about it. He was seeing that Crazy House Saloon women and that was not a secret.

It occurred in two separate interviews Prince did in late 1999 and the other in early 2000 during interviews in Europe.

The only statement I have read came from Mayte; dismissing her romantic involvement with Joaquin Cortes. I've never read a statement from Prince regarding this. If someone has this info, I would be interested in reading it. Just because Prince and Mayte were at a dinner with Joaquin, doesn't really tell us much.

Just because you didn't read it doesn't mean it didn't happen. He was asked directly two times. It's in print. Seek and you shall find.

It was explained to me that Prince was JW he was not going to file. M2 was not a true JW so she was forced to file.

It was my understanding that Prince married M2 because she converted to the JW? Otherwise, I don't think they would have married. I've only read that Prince did not want the divorce. If Prince was following his faith, then yes, he would not have been the one to file.

If a man locks his wife out of their home, boxes her things up and demolishes their home to the ground, does that say to you, he didn't want a divorce? Read between the lines buddy.

I don't know why he locked her out and neither do you. We shouldn't speculate. But maybe you should go back and read what his lawyer actually said. He wasn't quoting the words of Prince. The lawyer was releasing his own statement in an attempt to mitigate the situation. Prince didn't address the divorce at all in public, which is complete opposite of what he did when him and Mayte divorced.

Okay. We all have our difference of opinions on this. In my opinion, if my husband locks me out of the house, that means he's pretty much done with me and he's pissed.

.

Prince's lawyer was speaking on behalf of Prince, not himself. Prince wanted the best outcome and a smooth transition. Prince was known to not like dealing with legal matters, so he wanted it done quickly and with as little drama as possible.

.

I don't know why he handled each divorce differently. Different circumstances, I guess.

Yay! You get it now. If your husband locks you out of your home for more than a year, it means he's pretty much done with the marriage. So, tell me why you believe the statement his lawyer made "on his behalf", so you say, that he didn't want a divorce?

But she spends more time talking about Prince then the child. The child only lived a week for goodness sake. No one in this world would care about Mayte if she was never married to Prince. That is the reason his face is splashed on the front cover of the book.

No one outside of the fan base cares about this women and as far as I know the proceeds do not go to charity to help find a cure for birth defects. It is not about that child it is all about her.

You are delusional if you cannot see that.

[Edited 12/18/17 10:15am]

How dare you belittle someone’s pain of losing a child regardless of how long they lived. She carried that child for 9 months. Prince talked about his son until the day he died. You should pray you never have to go through something so tragic. Get this...unlike the many girlfriends he rotated, Mayte Garcia will forever and always be mentioned whenever people discuss Prince in biopics, in books, in documentaries, etc. You’re delusional if you can’t see that.

Thank you for saying this...it's totally true.

Well . . . M1 is not the only woman who will always be mentioned please note:

M2

.

Sheila E

.

Vanity

.

Susannah

.

Prince had these women who have folklore attached to them due to being with him. M1 was the only one who publicly carried his child. Like it or not ALL Of them are mentioned all the time. This was his construct. WE all have our favorites for whatever the reason. The women have done things that show their individual personalities to the public. They all will have a place in his legacy whether anyone likes it or not. It is as it is and none stand alone.

I have 5 biopics or documentaries recorded that have aired since Prince died. Not one of the mentions Susannah, Vanity or Sheila E.

There wasn’t anything cold in the Paper magazine interview. As usual, he would always bring her up in interviews even when it wasn’t even the topic of discussion.

People trying to build Mayte up to folklore status even though Prince ran out the back door of a club when he found out she was there. 😑 Not to mention not having anything to do with her 17 years after their divorce even though he reached out to many of his other ex's. Only thing that makes her "unique" in Prince world is that she publicly was the mother of his first and only child. If that wasn't the case then she'd be M2.

They had plenty of contact after their divorce. Because you don’t know about, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen buddy. The folklore you speak of, is the lie they didn’t communicate after their divorce. She wasn’t only his first wife and the mother to his only child but she was also a member of the NPG and is credited as such on several songs for background vocals. Unlike Jill Jones who is still griping about not being recognized. She appears in over 30 music videos and is the subject of at least 3 albums and countless other songs. Her name is splashed throughout his album liner notes, not to mention I think she has to be the only woman he was involved with he mentions by name in several songs. So, no, she’s not an M2, who people never knew existed because he never announced her to the world. There are no magazine covers, magazine spreads or interviews with her sitting by his side. There are no countless mentions in interviews about her being the love of his life. There are no former Prince associates coming out saying how much he talked about, so much so they felt they knew her before they met her. I could go on.

Last few months of Prince's life he was dying her about an auction and that was not talking . I agree M1 has her place with NOG and 1st wife and carried the baby. However she was not besties or on goid terms with him. That is not true.

Yeah..shes more famous than him.

Stop perpetuating a myth. Prince had very little contact with Mayte after the divorce. She even said in the housewives show that they didnt talk. Prince asked her to pay for tickets when she wanted to go see him in concert and she ranted about it publically. She was not allowed to rock up to PP, ahe was not invited by him to anything Prince related. Prince had a habit of completely cutting off from people, even people he once loved. It must have hurt, but these are the facts.

You don’t know what terms they were on the last few months. Let’s stop assuming. Stick with facts. Relationships go through ups and downs. They had a complicated and long history with one another. No one has ever assumed what their relationship was like at the time of his death. As far as Mayte has shared, they were not communicating when he died but one things for sure, regardless of how their relationship at any given time may have been, they never stopped loving and caring for one another.

Clearly, reading comprehension isn’t your forte. How old are you?

Did you know she attended a few other shows during his 21 Nights at The Forum and sat in his section? Did you hear that? No, you just heard about the one night she wanted to go and someone in his inner circle prevented her from going. Did you also hear her say in one of the scenes on The Hollywood Exes she saw him “last year?” Not allowed at Paisley Park? Did you miss the photos of her at Paisley Park for Prince!s funeral? Did you notice that aside from his mother, she was the only woman pictured in the funeral program? Did you read in her book about the tour of Paisley Park she was given by the propert manager? The same property manager her and Prince hired years ago? You don’t have facts, sir. You have a bunch of unconfirmed, unsubstantiated rumors that can be easily disproven.

What do you want ? You want M1 to be validated as in his circle? She could have been sleeping inside Paisley Park every night it does not change anything
No person has debated she knew Prince, married him and made a baby. She was not relevant last few years. Why is it not enough she married Prince was Mrs. Nelson and had his baby. Why is it so important
to try to make her relevant the last years of his life? She has her place firmly cemented in the legacy of Prince. It does not matter who supports or "likes" her. M1 is there all over the NPG and much of the 90s. There is no dispute.
.
What more do you want? Prince indeed moved on. Prince moving on does not minimize M1 at all. She is and always be who she was for him for a period of time.
They were not besties when he died and that is fine. No need for that she is there forever as the original Mrs. Prince Rogers Nelson so. . .why the debate?

She was not allowed to rock up to PP, ahe was not invited by him to anything Prince related. Prince had a habit of completely cutting off from people, even people he once loved. It must have hurt, but these are the facts.

Clearly, reading comprehension isn’t your forte. How old are you?

Did you know she attended a few shows during his 21 Nights at The Forum.

She went as a member of the public to any concert post divorce. The person who asked her to pay for tickets when she tried to get in guest list was Prince. She went to PP AFTER Prince died, he could hardly stop her then could he? She says in her book that when Prince saw her at a club he ran out the door.

Also, re the fumeral/gathering at PP, "They wanted to have a somber memorial since they weren't allowed at the other one," a source told E! News." You are talking about the memorial organised by the ex wives. You have a habit of telling half truths. Dont you Spin doctor?

Thank you for saying this...it's totally true.

Well . . . M1 is not the only woman who will always be mentioned please note:

M2

.

Sheila E

.

Vanity

.

Susannah

.

Prince had these women who have folklore attached to them due to being with him. M1 was the only one who publicly carried his child. Like it or not ALL Of them are mentioned all the time. This was his construct. WE all have our favorites for whatever the reason. The women have done things that show their individual personalities to the public. They all will have a place in his legacy whether anyone likes it or not. It is as it is and none stand alone.

yes!!!!!! like Jill jones said to Prince at Vanity's memorial "thank you for giving me all these women".

Members of the public don't sit in Prince's VIP seats. She was never banned from Paisley Park, sir. Never. You're repeating something you heard a fan say. If she was banned from Paisley Park, his family wouldn't have invited her. They sure as hell didn't invite his second wife. She has said a few times, she went to see him and he saw her and left but we don't know the reason why he left, do we?

What do you want ? You want M1 to be validated as in his circle? She could have been sleeping inside Paisley Park every night it does not change anything No person has debated she knew Prince, married him and made a baby. She was not relevant last few years. Why is it not enough she married Prince was Mrs. Nelson and had his baby. Why is it so important to try to make her relevant the last years of his life? She has her place firmly cemented in the legacy of Prince. It does not matter who supports or "likes" her. M1 is there all over the NPG and much of the 90s. There is no dispute. . What more do you want? Prince indeed moved on. Prince moving on does not minimize M1 at all. She is and always be who she was for him for a period of time. They were not besties when he died and that is fine. No need for that she is there forever as the original Mrs. Prince Rogers Nelson so. . .why the debate? [Edited 12/19/17 8:42am]

You're the one questioning and trying to discredit her "relevance." I was responding to your ignorant comment. Ignorant meaning, you don't know what you're talking about so you repeat lies and rumors instead. Prince and Mayte were divorced. They both moved on with their lives but it doesn't lessen her significance to his life and vice versa.

yeahthat

I don't get these stans who keep at it and at it about her. She was there, she's been acknowledged, but it ended many years ago. She wasn't his first woman, she was the first wife, but she wasn't the last wife, Manuela was, and there's been other women since that marriage ended too. Why the need to keep going on and on about an over and done with relationship 20 years down the road? Since it's only come up again since he passed, I'd say it's pretty self-explanatory as to why these people keep at it lol Money, pure and simple. No better, no worse than any of the others hanging on his fame to make money off his name and talent. nod lol

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

Or that one concert when he walked up to her and hugged her. She told about this in her book

Probably cause she kept coming around and Prince finally said let me get this over with, so he gave her a nugget. neutral Seriously though, I do believe that he loved her dearly at one time, but like most Prince relationships, it went south. It seems he wanted little to do with either of his ex wives. We'll truly never know why.
