Exactly. In the book, it sounded as if she wanted to divorce quietly, no big production. She wrote him a letter and next thing you know, there is a deal, she gets the house in Spain, and it's over. This is how she presented it. I can go back and read, but I don't remember her mentioning a prenuptial. It seems to me that should've gotten more? Why didn't she fight for the baby's ashes then or request that it be part of the transfer of property? I can't speak from experience as I've never gone through divorce, but the way it all went down, is a bit bizarre. It's too late to question and/ or complain against what she didn't get.

M1 did not make the effort to get more out of the divorce. She says so in the book. She says that her attorney told her it was a crap offer, but she just wanted it over with, so she took the 1st offer. My question is why, when she would need $$$ to get back on her feet and be comfortable for at least a little while? In the preface of the book, M1 says that she is not telling all, and the gaps in the whys for several situations is proof that she is not telling the whole story. Maybe she didn't persue more because she just did not have the fight in her or maybe she is hiding something on her side of the fence. After all, she is the one who asked for the divorce.

She maybe be hiding something and realized that if she fills in gaps to the story it is going to make her look bad. Kind of hard to sell the book if you the victim look bad.

One of the reasons I liked Sheila E's book is because she admitted that she had a bad attitude back in the day and was an angry person. She took responsiblity for her actions and worked on being a better person. No one on this earth is perfect.

Right! Because even if she took the 1st offer to make it all go away quicker and with less fanfare, by law, wouldn't she still have been entitled to spousal support on top of getting the house because he was the main wage earner in the marriage? Again, I don't know how divorce law works or how the courts decide who is getting what and how much, but I imagine since he was the one with the highest earning and with the greatest potential for future earnings, he would’ve been required to provide some support, for at least a period of time especially since she didn’t exactly have an income of her own. Plus, unless there was a pre-nuptial agreement, wouldn't she have been entitled to a whole lot heck of a lot more than a house? Either something doesn’t compute or maybe she did get much more than she let on and in her need for sympathy and being the victim, left that out of her book? And hey, she was welcomed to leave all that out if she wanted, but she had to know people would wonder despite her preface. She mentioned having gotten the house, which turned out to be more a liability than an asset and mentioned that she didn't get the baby’s ashes- all negatives which may have all been her fault for not getting/ receiving due to not fighting for them or contesting the offers from his side.

That means nothing. She could have got half his net worth and remember that would include assets such as royalties and properties.

The fact that he went thru two divorces within a decade and had they assets he had really surprised me. Something was going on with both of these women unless there were pre nups but Mayte claims she got nothing but the house so a piece of the puzzle is missing.

I agree. Even if Mayte was young and not smart about the divorce and what she could walk away with, her mother sure was and I'm sure her mom would have been coaching her on what to do- especially telling her to get a good lawyer- so something seems to be missing.

There is no divorce record of Prince and Mayte anywhere in the US nor in Spain- If there is a legit one someone please share it.

If there was one from Minnesota, laws of that state require the info be sent to the county where the marriage took placeand becomes part of the legal record.

Again if anyone can find that please share it.

IDK I just think maybe -where this smoke there's fire and no one after divorce calls the ex as if current. Mayte needs say my Ex-husband because IMO he was never legally her husband.

I think someone already did that. The information can be found using the search key. A lot of stuff about his properties had been discussed on this board for years.

Even regular people with normal incomes stand the chance of losing half of their earnings-current & future, and assets in a divorce. So that he was wealthier at the end of the second marriage, doesn't make a difference. She should've received at least spousal support/ alimony along with the house.

Either she did receive more and left it out, there was a pre-nuptial, or something is off because no woman in her right mind would take a mansion and no cash divorcing a millionaire rockstar.

Nice try. Either she is lying and got more or some else went down because walking away with a mansion in which the upkeep ate the equity and no cash, is absurd. Something does not compute.

No worries or sympathy for her because she's raking in the $$$ now with her "love story". The opportunist can't get enough and therefore needs to write a sequel.

One write books to get attention and the other post pictures with a little blurb and accomplishes the same thing. lol

He met his match in Vanity.

He loved her with a passion uncontested. She is the one that got away.

Listen to the Piano and Mic concerts.

Watch Purple Rain.

Listen to the Breakdown and Revelation.

He didn't want Vanity, he fired her from PR, but she went around saying that she walked away because it didn't pay enough, and he let her say that to save HER face...Vanity had a drug and drinking problem and she slept around on him, he didn't want nothing to do with that.

.

Yes, he was sad and mourned when she died, like most of us do when our friends pass, but that doesn't mean they were soulmates.

WRONG. She was NOT fired. She left him and that's been well documented in interviews from back to that time and even in recent ones. I don't know where you get your info, but you better do your research because you seem to not know much of anything in regards to Vanity or maybe you should take a seat.

WRONG, maybe you have the wrong info. This has been documented in Alex Hahn's book, The Rise of Prince, do you want the page number? LOL
